Princeton has been my dream school since the 8th grade. My parents went there, and I've romanticized the idea of being a student there for as long as I can remember. I'm generally a pretty strong student -- 3.95 GPA, 3 AP courses as of sophomore year (that will increase)., with a 5 on the AP Spanish exam as a freshman. I haven't taken the SAT or any standardized testing or anything like that. I'm not very into sports, which I've heard can be detrimental to my chances of getting in, but I'm currently co-president of a club that focuses on facilitating discussion and consensus for highly debatable issues and a Spanish editor for a multi-lingual magazine (I hope to become editor-in-chief by senior year). Also, I've moved a lot throughout my life (I'm on my 5th country), which could serve as an interesting essay topic.
The thing is, I don't have a direct "hook". And I really, really want to get in. Any suggestions for how I can improve my chances?

I was just so mad at her, i quit on a holiday without notice. That’s how mad i was. Like, i’d been really clear with mgmt that i wasn’t real happy, you know. With compensation. Over and over all the fucking time.
Heather’s on her own at work is as bad as any union ever was. You know, idk, i advocate for myself in terms of money, or hours i need to scheduled, all kinds of shit. You know, i negotiate that shit.
If they’ll have it and if they want … well, have fun getting along without me and if you’ve been a dick to me the whole damn time i’ve been here, i’m going to stick to ya when i leave. That’s according to my work history
But, if you’re fair, i’m fair. You know. That’s how it is.
So, anyway, i was outside smoking and they were going over to wendy’s. I mean, you know. Still the best price for what you get. Five dollars. Idk, it’s still a real good deal. Idk, i usually get a #1, Dave’s Classic Single. Just the way it comes. It’s good. It’s a good burger.
And, wendy’s chicken sandwiches were my fisrt great love. Idk, i cheat on that spicy chicken sandwich with the asagio one. They’re both real good. I didn’t mean for this to be a wendy’s commercial. But, we were outside talking about it.
Dave Thomas is a popular topic of conservation in East Tennessee. Probably cause he’s an essay topic in 8th grade tennessee history. An oral report that we had to give about a famous person from the area that does a lot of good deads. Dolly is also a popular subject in these reports.
Like, one report every six weeks about different essay topics and you had to read your report in front of the whole class. In Tennessee History. Oral Reports. Essays. We did it in the 7th grade, too. But, you don’t have to read them aloud in front of the whole class, but you can for extra credit if you want to.
That’s how teachers used to do it, like everyone has to do an essay and then read them to the class. Idk, if they still do that or not. That’s how most of our class time in the 80’s was spent. Listening to other kids give reports.

I swore off fast food like, the day before yesterday. Too much sodium. But, i really super love wendy’s food. And, arby’s. Idgaf what late night comedians say, arby’s is fucking great. These got these wraps you can can take to work and have for lunch. It’s like, you know, if someone gave a shit and packed your lunch. Those Arby’s wraps are great, and super convenient and easy to pack for lunch.
If you work 2nd or 3rds. You know. That’s how people do. They stop and get something that will hold over in the fridge. Wraps are great, all the fast food restaurants should recognize that market. I mean, when i was working up there, that’s how i packed my lunch like, most days.
Wendy’s salads or arby’s wraps. How 2nd shift packs lunch. Idk, maybe that’s just me. Subway, too. But, i can’t eat subway in my car. I probably could if i didn’t ask them to put so much stuff on it. But, i get leaky subs at subway.
Also, i need to stop spending so much on that, you know. So, i got these .. real food from the grocery store. Ugggghhhhhhhhh. I hate that.
It’s fine. It tastes fine and it’s better for you, it’s just not as fucking yummy Arby’s curly fries. Beef and cheddar add lettuce and tomato. Both sauces, horsey and arby’s sauce. That sauce on those fries. Omg. i shouldn’t be having any little cups of cheese, that’s high in sodium.
It’s about moderation, lol. In shit you should not be eating any fucking way, but i love it. But, now it’s a special treat. It’s 1:31am. Past time time either of those things are even fucking open. I wonder if Hardee’s is open.
They got great burgers, too. But, for real. It’s thoe biscuits at hardee’s. They have the best breakfast. When my sister was pregnant, i would take her to the doctor down that way. We’d stop at hardee’s on the way and grab some biscuits.
They’re all fucking good. Chicken, yes. Sausage, that one. Sometimes they got that country fried steak biscuit at hardee’s. I just about live for that. Omg, when that comes back. Way better than mcrib.

Arby’s does have good tea. It’s better than mcdonald’s tea. And, wendy’s. Both those teas weak and mcdonald’s uses too much sugar or something. Idk, i think they’re using some kinda liquid sugar. I don’t like mcdonald’s tea no more. That lemonade is really good though, it has pulp in it.
I’m starving. And, i don’t want my save money meal. I said i wasn’t going to doordash anymore. After i got the … suspicious food. It didn’t make me sick or nothing. And, they gave me my money back. But, you know. Left a bad taste in my mouth

Then, I accidentally ordered a meal kit service in a scrolling accident. That comes monday, and i have to eat it cause, you know. I mean, i’m trying to save money. Ok. and, overall it was cheaper than going to the grocery store. But, that’s just an introductory rate. You know.
Tricky website, though. Scammy kind of, i mean, i was trying to see the menu cards before i ordered and accidentally ordered, then there’s no way to cancel until the trial period is over. I set an event in my phone to remind me to cancel it.
For serious, i thought it was the other one that i did want to order. Like, one of those, you don’t even have to cook the food. It’s just like, fresh food tv dinners you just put in the toaster over.
And, i was like, holy shit that’s perfect, but then, idk, i couldn’t remember the name, and also, it’s not exactly that, but that’s what i want, but i mean, this is a diet for me. Ok. like, this is the diet.

No, you can’t trade out any of the items. That’s how that works. At wendy’s. They won’t let you trade items in the biggie bag.
There’s an extra charge to put lettuce and tomato on your burger, but they will do that.
That’s the part of being a mom that no one tells ya, like, having to explain fast food restaurant policies to toddlers. That’s the best. It’s like customer service, but if you had to live with the karens. Those four for fours. That’s how my kids graduated from happy meals. Rice: Terrible. I didn't prepare and didn't have great answers. Interviewer was very STEM (I'm not) and didn't seem too interested in my activities. Cut off interview at 30 mins.
Penn: I thought it was really good lmao. I had a lot of fun and we went way over the schedule time and she thought I would be perfect lmao.
WashU (scholarship interview): Timed interview but I felt great. Interviewers were super sweet; laughed at my jokes and made me feel great :)
Brown (video interview): Low key kinda funny; did like a day in the life where I made pancakes for my brother and had a big interview
Berkeley (special program interview): I was not prepared and it was during school hours so I kinda joined 1-2 mins late. I also kinda just read out my application essay as a response for a couple of questions. They didn't seem impressed.
Emory (scholarship interview 1): I got cut off by the virtual timer each time, but I felt quite prepared I think and I think I had great responses
Emory (scholarship interview 2): Really great group interview; gave some great responses. I thought I was resourceful and the interviewers seemed to like me too :)
Emory (scholarship interview 3): Also a group interview; we created something really great and wonderful. Went out of my comfort zone but created something many thought was great. I also met with 2 of my interviewers before and after and both thought I was very articulate and thought I was insightful during the interview.

Common App Essay: (11/10) I honestly loved it lol. It was a conflict of "he" vs. "they" and I thought it was great and really showed who I was. It was also really fun and engaging to read and not too long. Everyone I spoke to LOVED it A LOT so I guess that has to mean something lol
Supps: I really liked a lot of mine and put a lot of time into them. Many of them were really funny or really deep and conveyed the duality of my personality. I will say tho, in the application process, I applied to a bunch of schools I wasn't a fan of, and, as a result, my sups were very rushed. How much I cared about the school and spent on the supp really reflected my admissions decision (except for 1)-- see parentheses below for info on this.

So, since I moved out of my parent's household, some symptoms and ticks and habits (that I've had since I was a child) started showing way more strongly. I've been suspicious of my probable autism for a good while and decided to take the RAADS-R test just to see the score. Do you think I should go see a psychologist/psychiatrist about this?? I have current and common issues (sensory, social, co-dependency, etc) that really affect me physically and socially, and getting on the way to a diagnosis would help me a lot. UChicago - wrote some of my best essays here. Quirky essay revolved around a previous prompt that i edited a bit, and managed to connect a v niche thing to my ancestral heritage and culture. Why UChicago was also filled with unique experiences cuz of my sister.
Wharton - amazing essays according to all who read them, included a lot of specific stuff and stories as well.
Essays for the rest were also decent I’d say, not something that’d make me an auto admit definitely, but pretty good i guess.

Thoughts:
#1 - It didn't all work out the way I'd have wanted. NYU Stern is fucking great, I def know that, but can't help but feel a bit saddened by all the rejections, especially Wharton, given the amount of Wharton-specific stuff on my profile, as well as the LORs from Wharton-affiliated people, and the fact that my best essays were for them.
#2 - Another thing that could've affected me was that there were also some issues with my school since there was some drama regarding an applicant faking their resume, and that resulted in the school getting only 2 ivy acceptances in RD, while we have historically gotten more than 10 every year. We also got no acceptances from Duke, Stanford, or UChicago, despite historically getting at least 3-4, and having really great applicants this year.
#3 - Nevertheless, for all you internationals out there - there's a lot of luck involved in this process, especially if you're an applicant from an extremely competitive country like India or China. So definitely ensure that you've got good backups somewhere. I went all out for the USA, applying only to super-reaches because I knew that I had a good backup in India in case nothing worked out.
Keep looking out for opportunities for all types of extracurriculars, since they're a really important part of your application, and definitely ensure that your essays don't look refined or artificial, they should be something that makes the AO feel a personal connection with you.

As the title suggests, "Get-Paid-To" websites pay you to do certain tasks. Now there might not be too many surveys available that work, but offers can be well worth doing in my opinion. Take some time to browse around to see what is available (for example, mobile game offers). Once you have found something I recommend to start comparing rates that different GPT websites are offering (for example, game X with offerwall Y is available both on Freecash and Swagbucks, but Freecash has a higher payout for completing the same task).
Generally the games offered are very grindy but not impossible to complete. Patience is key, make sure to do your research about offered games to see which ones are the easiest.

Cabinet approves military-technical cooperation agreement with Czech Republic

The Government of Armenia on March 30 approved the agreement on military-technical cooperation with Czech Republic which was signed in 2019.
The agreement envisages cooperation in military education, defense industry, military history and museology, as well as participation in peacekeeping missions abroad. It will be sent to the Constitutional Court to determine its compliance with the constitution, and in the event of receiving a positive response the agreement will be submitted to parliament for ratification.

Border guards to take over the protection of road connecting Lachin Corridor to Armenia – PM

“But since the road connecting the Lachin Corridor to the Republic of Armenia was not completely ready, a temporary route was launched that entered the territory of the Republic of Armenia through the Kornidzor Bridge, then again into the territory of Azerbaijan, then again into the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Azerbaijan has advanced troops 100 to 300 meters in five points, Armenia’s National Security Service says

After August 2022, a part of the road connecting the Lachin Corridor to Armenia was still passing through the Azerbaijani territory after the Kornidzor Bridge. That part of the road and its adjacent territory were controlled by the Russian peacekeeping forces.
According to the agreements reached yesterday between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the border guards of the two countries were to be deployed on both sides of the border along the above-mentioned section in the last days of March.
According to the NSS, there has been “misreading of maps” and in some places, the Azerbaijani side, without waiting for pre-arranged adjustments, started positioning and carrying out engineering works.
“According to the calculations of the Armenian side, there are five points, where the Azerbaijani side has advanced troops 100 to 300 meters further from the border. It has now been agreed that cartographers from both sides will correct the situation,” the National Security Service said.

MIT - spent 3.5 hours, my mom lowk got annoyed, but it was amazing he told me about a new way to think about space time, MIT experience, hacking and everything, met him later at admit day for our region and he said he really enjoyed the interview and expected me to get in. 9/10.
Harvard - he said i would “fit the modern school” interview went for 45 minutes, got him to talk about some illegal stuff he did @ harvard but he cut it off when zoom ran out so not sure how good, felt like i vibed. 6/10.
Stanford - went really well, the AO note later said she described me as a genius apparently so that’s cool, we talked alot and she had done isef i think in the past and we talked about our memories alot and in general it was fun. 9/10.
Duke - pretty mid tbh it was fun and nice but i had no answer for why duke 5/10

Essays

I nearly failed APEL and I’m not known to be a great writer, so ​I dropped all my ec’s senior year to focus on essays, after being warned by a guy @ davidsons that essays mattered way more than I thought they did. Watched every video from admitium tiktok to cc posts and hundreds of reddit threads to get ideas and help. I got help from my friends and also a really cool family friend @ harvard who got praised for writing alot. My essays were very nontraditional and very very casual and i talked about lots of mitish stuff (dream school), which also happened to fit for caltech. Everyone who read my CA said they liked it, and my Harvard friend who got in purely for essays (his note said) rated them really highly said he liked my essays, but I don’t think they were the main driving factor for my acceptances so I’ll rate them 7/10 (like everyone else on this forum).
Since I didn’t have to tell the colleges how much i loved researching or science bc my awards and ec’s displayed that already, i spent most of my essays talking about fun stuff i liked doing, and nonacademic stuff, trying to talk about myself as a person and not as a college applicant/sweaty high schooler.
I didn’t try on my Duke or Columbia or NU essays AT ALL, i templated my why essays really hard and just swapped in names, but I did copy paste my MIT essays into duke which i spent almost 100 hours on. I tryharded my MIT Stanford Caltech and Harvard essays, and I’d rate them 8/10, while my other schools (including UC’s) were much much worse probably 3/10 or 4/10.

In general, I don’t think this collegeresults posts helps anyone except maybe like 20 people be more confident in their profiles, but I wanted to say either way GOOD. ESSAYS. REALLY. REALLY. REALLY. MATTER. I know alot of people with similar ec’s as me and while they lit up the T5’s as well, there is always people that don’t, if you have these sorts of awards&ec’s you need to be showing off your personality, don’t just sit there with your isef medal and watch the world go by and chatgpt essays and expect to sweep T5’s (or t3’s since Yale and Princeton are irrelevant smh)
UC’s are so random—I live in CA and I hate UC’s for being so RNG, almost NO one is getting in, and it’s just so random no matter which ones. I have no clue what is going on but test op hit these schools like a truck. Until the test is reinstated in ~2025 UC will probably be stupid and random like it is right now for Co22/23/24. College Board backlash was unjustified.
Also try on everything!! I got my MET interview, and then absolutely bombed it by just reading straight from a script and obviously rushing to get it done, and I might have had some random stanford stuff in the background too LOL so that was not the best look and probably why I got straight rejected (read: coping)
Similarly, not trying at all on Duke/NU/Columbia is why I got rejected by those, like seriously those were 2/10 essays, you can’t just get by without good essays, I did this almost as a test, if I could have awful essays and clearly a good enough app for more selective schools, and yeah it DOESN’T WORK. TRY ON YOUR ESSAYS!!
Okay actually not columbia, funny story, they didn’t get my SCOIR rec for whatever reason, and sent me 3 emails asking me to submit it (want me fr) but I didn’t respond on time so yeah. (sorry I kept forgetting and the deadline hit)
At the same time, Columbia is the worst school in the world (read rejected my best friend ed) so i dnc.
In general, I wasn’t *that* surprised by any acceptance after stanford, but mit still had my heart destroying itself.
Should you do the no targets/no safeties strat? Yeah go for it j take 20 gap years like that one usc (or was it nyu i can never tell) post.

It's another big weekend of local fun in Blacksburg, at Virginia Tech and throughout the New River Valley with over 65 events. However will have to keep our fingers crossed the weather cooperates on Saturday for any of the outdoor events (some for tonight & tomorrow are already cancelled or postponed including this weekend's top 15 softball match-up).
The Hokie Women's Basketball will have most of the attention tonight and hopefully on Sunday afternoon, though I have included a few late Friday events for those that are interested.
