2023.05.29 17:10 dragonshokan What are some moments you wish to see in that final episode?

So it's all coming down to one episode and I'm sure we've all had some moments, interactions, jokes, guest appearances, minor characters we'd want to see do something or be in a certain situation etc. So list them, tell us your craziest, silliest, even the tiniest bit that would provide that total geeky, feel good moment to leave you satisfied at the end of it all? Here's a few of mine:
  1. What shouldn't come as a shocker is the Ted Lasso dance in the locker room - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Pb2xNf4txM
  2. Beard & Ted flashback teaching "football" in Kansas.
  3. Trent Crimm voice over moment.
  4. Beard breaking up with Jane, only to follow it up with a heavy make out session, only to then act like a lunatic which will scare her off. Preferably in front of Ted, Roy or the team and Dani / Ted / Roy asks "So did they / you actually break up or not?"
  5. Nate picked up by the team and passed around like a little kid along with Will.
  6. Higgins gagging in front of Rupert who has one last appearance at the office, only for Higgins to get his Denzel on and tell Rupert what's what.
  7. Rebecca to confront the fortune teller and giving her a compliment on how right she was in a very loud, expressive way that scares the crap out of the lady.
  8. Karaoke night for one last time.
  9. Shrinking crossover, don't care which character, but give me Ted calling Jimmy (Jason Segel) once he's in the US after getting a referral from Dr. Sharon. Or better yet, Ted visiting that office and interacting with all 3 shrinks :) Or my favorite: Beard visiting, saying he was told he might need therapy, but he's not sure and getting into an argument with Jimmy about that.
  10. The local drunk and Ted for one last time, one last insult.
What do y'all got?

Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant has gone from man to myth to legend. Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.
Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures.
At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As
Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant , which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant .)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant , we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
one can claim to be the most powerful superhero .And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it's his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel or otherwise
"By the way, it's not hyperbole because we made the movie."And we made him this powerful.
There's nothing so wrong with “Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant ” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant ” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.
It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naïve delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant ” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You're Crazy, Jerry."Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant " could be retitled 'You're a Superhero, Dwayne'—it's the marketing team's PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length.
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant ” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.
“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant FULLMOVIE ONLINE

Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is The Magician's Elephant Fullmovie Online For Free on Disney Plus?
Unfortunately, Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.
While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.
Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant has finally ended the box office blues. It will be a close call, but based on the estimates, the year's biggest opener remains Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187 million start. Nonetheless, Wakanda Forever's $180 million opening is a huge one, being the biggest ever for the month of November (beating the $158 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), the second biggest of the year, and the 13th biggest of all time (though it could go up or down a few slots once the actuals come out). It led an overall weekend box office of $208 million, which is the fourth biggest of the year and the biggest by a long shot of the past four months, with no other weekend since July 8 -10 even going above $133 million.
This isn't the $202 million opening that we saw from Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant in February 2018, nor should we expect the amazing legs that were able to get that film to an astonishing $700 million. With that said, expect it to perform strong throughout the holiday season, likely repeating the five-weekend number-one streak that the first film had, and it shouldn't have any trouble becoming the second highest grossing film of the year so far, beating the $411 million cume of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The audience response is strong, with the A CinemaScore falling below the first film's A+ but bouncing back from the B+'s earned by Doctor Strange 2 and Magic Mike's Last Dance, which ranked among the worst for the MCU. improvement over the recent franchise installations, with the aforementioned films coming in at 74% and 64% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, both at the lower end for Marvel films, while Wakanda Forever's 84% is closer to franchise norms, though not meeting the high bar set by the first Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant 's 96%.
The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).
As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.
Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant , which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Magic Mike's Last Dance, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.
Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )
, which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's close to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.
Finishing up the top five is Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant , which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.
The one new specialty title of note comes from a filmmaker we don't typically associate with the specialty box office: Steven Spielberg. The Beard's semi-autobiographical family drama Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles to $160k, a $40k average. The film expands to 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, and it has the potential to break out in a way that none of the other of the season's awards contenders have. We're also seeing very solid numbers from Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant , which grossed $1.7 million this weekend for a seventh place finish, bringing its cume to $5.8 million.

2023.05.29 17:01 zendi_lyon PCOS but not quite.. What else could be at play?

Primary Symptoms: Hairloss, Hiruitisim, (and one point acne but I did a round of accutane and have been fine on that front).. I noticed all of these started to develop around 3 years ago.) .
Never had issues with my period until this past year and even still it was just a few episodes of very light spotting between cycles.
I just had bloodwork done and my Labs came back fine..- Thyroid: good.- A1C: perfect- hormones all within normal ranges.- the only thing that came up was Vitamin D and B12 being low.
- I've also been under significant stress and mental health issues for... ever..(chronic) I talked to him about being worried with how that could be playing apart in it all as well.
BUT my doctor pointed out that I'm in this weird grey zone with DHEA (136). He said Above 200 is definite PCOS.. and below 100 is definitely not... but because I'm at 136 and my primary concerns.. he said I wasn't his only patient struggling with it but admitted we were a group he wasn't sure how to help. It would really just be trial and error with various treatments.
Spironolactone wasn't effective. (I think it could have been the culprit causing the spotting)
He mentioned a potential cause of something being converted too quickly... Does anyone know what that or other causes could be and how I should go about methodically trying to figure out the cause and proper treatment?
I don't want to do anything that just slaps a bandaid on the symptom..(which I admittedly felt like spiro was trying to do)... I'd rather treat it.. holistically. (I also don't want to be on a longterm med that suppresses the symptom while at the same time destroying something else like my heart or liver. another reason i didn't like spiro was that if the spotting was a side effect then it was creating issues that were throwing off my ability to read my body. i.e thinking I suddenly had irregular period, another new symptoms, which means somethings wrong, only to learn the rx caused it.. )
\I was fine with the internal hiroshima bombing of accutane because it was a short term treatment*.*
  1. As of right now I'm adjusting my vitamin supplements and going to try Saw Palmetto.....Should I wait a few months to see how the vitamin adjustment effects anything or jump into the SP?...
  2. if that dosn't work what should I try next? Isn't finastride technically the the same as Saw palmetto?
(tried to ask on women's health but no response..Hoping someone can offer more insight here.)

2023.05.29 17:01 BeLLiSSiM0_ THC induced Psychosis or really bad OCD. Please respond.

Hello guys. 2 months ago a friend of mine played a joke on me by giving me a 98% HHC vape (milder form of THC) while telling me it is a CBD vape. I made a few huge vapes and I mean like 10 puffs but very big ones. After a few minutes I was in a severe Panic attack, which I experienced for a first time in my life. Brutal heartbeat , nausea, chills in my body, legs and hands numb. I asked him what he really gave me , but he kept insisting it is just cbd. I called my gf to come and pick me up. On the way home I experienced paranoia about this one friend giving me something which is not cbd on purpose and that he is doing it because he might be friend with a very bad person I was having problems with recently. But for the second part i was almost sure that is impossible. No hallucinations or any other form of paranoia/delusion. I’ve been having harm intrusive thoughts which scared me (the thought i might snap and act on them). The next morning i called him and he admitted about what he really gave me. After that I kept having panic attacks and disturbed sleep, zero appetite and dpdr for a few days. No hallucinations or delusions or strange thoughts except the one that gave me fear and panic - that i have broken my brain forever. I’ve had racing thoughts when falling asleep which were absolutely chaotic and irrational, making 0 sense and jumping rapidly from a topic to topic, but only when just falling asleep. If I opened my eyes and was fully awake, they immediately disappeared. I’ve read on google the day after the incident that there is connection between weed and schizo and that is what caused me extreme distress but I didn’t read any symptoms. The next 1-2 weeks things were getting better day after day and I decided I would do some online tests for schizo and read symptoms. After doing every single test I found I was immediately calmer , because I’ve never experienced even one symptom from the mentioned EVER. But I continued reassuring myself by reading and doing tests for the next 7-10 days, literally doing it all day. I was getting more and more concerned until I ended up in a new panic attack. I started constantly looking around and wondering if everything I saw or heard is real or am I hallucinating. Something with the corner of my eye or a momentary random sound. After a few days I decided I would swallow up my pride and start asking. Every time I’ve asked (hundreds of times) everyone else was seeing or hearing everything I did. So that wore off almost completely. Then the obsession with delusional thinking kicked in very hard. After everything I’ve read , all the examples of delusions that people have, I developed similar thought patterns. Some random neighbour would greet me with “hello” and i would think “wait, what if that person has some hidden meaning towards me in his mind?”. Which literally puts me in another anxiety attack, because I am terrified why would I consider such thing, why would even such a thought pass my mind as it is absolutely irrational. It’s been 2 months now. My sleep has greatly improved generally. The obsession comes and goes. Sometimes I will be happy and obsession free for days, laughing at my previous experiences and thinking it won’t come back. Then it comes back again for a few days causing me extreme distress. I lose my appetite again, lose motivation and enjoyment in life. In those days only very pleasurable activities with friends bring me out of this, sometimes completely and for hours I forget about it. I am almost 27 years old male. No family history of mental illnesses of any sort, no drug use of any sort, and most of all not a single similar experience of any sort my whole life. Quite the opposite. I was the most happy, motivated , cheerful and funny person in my circle. Except for a depression episode 12 years ago when I moved to a new city with my family, my life has been always very satisfying. 3 different psychologists told me that I can be sure I don’t have psychosis and it is GAD or ocd combined with medium depression. I’ve also went to a psychiatrist who didn’t quite have the time to listen to everything i wanted to say (for example the delusional thoughts) and he told me that nothing could happen from one time overdosing any drug. He pointed my age to be way above the age in which people get psychotic illnesses and said that I would have shown many signs of such much earlier in my life. I called him later that day for reassurance and he told me that he has more than 40 years of practice and is specialised in diagnosis of psychotic illnesses. He said he would have known if something isn’t right minutes after I’ve entered the room. He told me to remember this: “ i am absolutely and undoubtedly sure that the isn’t even a slightest chance of such thing”. This helped me get out of the circle for more than a week. And then I’ve read about prodrome and freaked out again.
What do you think guys? Anyone suffered or suffering from a similar situation? Any advices? I go to gym every day and see my friends all the time, i hate being alone. I started to regain some part of my motivation to work (much more to be regained as I am very motivated usually).

2023.05.29 17:01 BertieWilberforce 2 small indications of genius writing

1) Coming out of (well out of) a conservative religious background, I can tell you Hader absolutely nails the patois of seemingly fervent believers in these past few episodes who basically say words with their eyes closed and hope that what they really want is what they get. That Barry reverts to this 'praying' in his most trying circumstances is also true to form IRL--why pray unless you need to? The 'preaching' he listens to is also spot on. Bill Burr might have been an exaggeration, but not by much these days.
2) The interstitial dialogue that adds nothing to the narrative but is nevertheless brilliant, e.g.: the car salesman who confesses his extra-marital affair to customers while Barry is trying to escape the woman on the dirt bike; or, the woman (same episode I think?) who is walking on the sidewalk on her phone telling her friend 'He ordered milk with dinner...' all the while men with machine guns are running past her to mount an attack. Not necessary to the story at all, but hilarious just the same. Reminds me of a Booger & Skinny Pete convo in BB about Battlestar Galactica, all while Jesse is sitting there in his own existential crisis.

2023.05.29 16:57 savepoints Odysseus' Profile from FGO Material X

Odysseus

Class: Rider True Name: Odysseus Gender: Male Source: Greek mythology Region: Europe Alignment: Neutral Good Height: 179cm Weight: 63kg

Parameters Rank
Strength C
Endurance A+
Agility D
Mana B+
Luck EX
Noble Phantasm B

Scenario writer: Hikaru Sakurai Character illustrator: redjuice CV: Kirimoto Takuya
Main appearances: Fate/Grand Order

Class Skills

Magic Resistance: B Cancel magecraft performed with a chant of below three verses. Even if targeted by greater magecraft or rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected. The rank is originally C, but it has been increased due to the effects of the Aegis.

Riding: B+ Can handle most vehicles and mounts. Unable to handle Phantasmal Species.

Personal Skills

Insight of the Cunning General: B++ A skill representing the knowledge Odysseus displayed, not only during the Trojan war, but throughout all his adventures. Those acting with Odysseus on their side will surely be victorious.

Single-Mindedness (Love): A A most focused state of mind...the source of his unwavering will. His devotion to his loving wife Penelope will never sway. Calypso the nymph, the witch Circe of Aeaea, the ephemeral Queen Nausicaa...all these women fell for Odysseus. Even the blessings he received from Athena were likely an indication that she too had fallen for him. While Odysseus seemed to be a lady-killer, he himself was fully devoted to his love. It's just that during his long voyage back home to his Penelope, for some reason he kept encountering women. (At least that's how he sees it.)

Divine Body Bounded Field: A The crystallized armor of the gods, combining defense and offense in one. It is a skill-version of the Noble Phantasm of the same name.

Grace of the Gods: B+ A skill that represents the grace received from the gods of Olympus. It can create numerous different effects. Because Athena's love was especially intense, Odysseus was given a special allowance to use the Noble Phantasm Aegis, the gods' own defense. (Fundamentally not utilized as a skill in FGO.)

Noble Phantasm

Colossal Trojan Horse of Obliteration Rank: B++ Type: Anti-Nation Range: 2-80 Maximum Targets: 400 people
Troia Híppos. Near the end of the Trojan War, Odysseus arranged for a large wooden horse that would be brought within the impregnable walls of Troy, hiding numerous Greek soldiers (Achaeans) within this "offering." Ultimately, the Trojans brought their enemies inside, and were defeated by getting in the resulting ambush, leading to the Achaean army's victory. According to literature, it was said that Odysseus was among those inside the wooden horse, and that he fought alongside these warriors.
The Noble Phantasm's wooden horse is in fact a giant mount covered in divine steel armor that suggests it has the blessings of the Aegis thanks to Athena. After its True Name is revealed, the wooden horse becomes a titanic being that annihilates everything around it in a demonstration of the fierceness of the Trojan War.

Divine Body Bounded Field Rank: A Type: Bounded Field Range:Maximum Targets: 1 person
Aegis. A defensive armament created by the gods of Olympus. It is said to be armor or shield, and an extraordinary powerful bounded field, a conceptual defense mechanism of divine creation. However, Odysseus is able to don it as a physical armor, likely thanks to Athena's deep affection for him, granting him an invincible suit of armor made of divine steel, possessing conceptual defenses.
A Noble Phantasm that is continuously active. It is expressed as a skill in FGO.

Love's Radiant Stringless Bow Rank: C Type: Anti-Unit Range: 0-50 Maximum Targets: 1 person
Penelope. A Noble Phantasm named after his beloved wife. Odysseus, in proving his complete love for Penelope, made a show of effortlessly stringing his bow, which no one else was able to. In other words, Odysseus is someone adept at handling stringless bows. As a Noble Phantasm, it manifests as Odysseus shooting an "arrow of light" using neither string nor even a bow, in an act reminiscent of the gods of Olympus. It is a continuously active Noble Phantasm, and in FGO, releasing its True Name has no additional effect.

Character

Pronouns used: First person: Ore (俺) Second person: Omae (おまえ) / Anata (あんた) / Using their name without honorifics Third person: They/them (奴) / Using their name without honorifics

Personality A man with an unwavering will, a hero of the Trojan War, and one of the greatest adventurers in Greek mythology. He went on numerous adventures and overcame countless adversaries, and there is no question of why his name became the basis for the word "odyssey."
Even were he boasting, he could back up his claims. If he says he'll take down Troy, that is what he'll do. If he says he'll flee from a scene of carnage, that is what he'll do. If he says he'll defeat monsters and Demonic Beasts, that is what he'll do. And if he says he'll head home to reach his beloved Penelope, that is what he'll do...one day.
At first glance he might appear overly confidant, but in reality he has a perfect grasp on his own abilities and capabilities. He never acts with arrogance, always directly accepting the truth that he "just narrowly seized victory and glory" or "if the slightest thing changed, he would have met with death".

Motivation and Attitude toward Master: He views the Master as someone on their own journey; an adventure of constant hardships. In a way, he sees in them the part of himself that once wandered the world in the hopes of reuniting with their loved one.

Dialogue Examples: "There is nothing I cannot accomplish. Might as well give it a try." "In your great adventure of saving Pan-Human History, let me be of some assistance." "How heavy and painful even a single step forwards can be...I know a bit about that." "I'll overcome every single one of these challenges. Indeed, I shall remain by your side." "Aegis!"

Historical Image and Character: A hero of ancient Greek mythology. The protagonist of Homer's famed epic "The Odyssey." His role in the Trojan War is recorded in "The Iliad."
Odysseus was the Achaeans' greatest strategist during the Trojan War. Following the death of Achilles, it was Odysseus who came up with the idea for the Trojan Horse, which directly led to the fall of Troy. After the war, he sailed for home to return to his beloved Penelope. His journey was complicated by many obstacles, among which were: a vicious cyclops, Poseidon's curse, temptation at the hands of Circe the witch and Calypso the nymph, the enchanting song of the sirens, the dread monster Scylla, the wrath of the sun god Helios, and myriad other hardships. Eventually, though not without sacrifice, Odysseus overcame these many trials and made it home.

In Atlantis of the Fifth Lostbelt, he manifested as a Servant from Pan-Human History, going up against the Lostbelt Odysseus who sided with the gods. Both were neck and neck, but for a brief moment it looked like the Odysseus of Pan-Human History had the upper hand. However, the Klironomia granted by Zeus were activated, ultimately granting the Lostbelt Odysseus victory.
While the memories of the battle in the Lostbelt should not have been retained by the Odysseus summoned to Chaldea, he actively searched through Chaldea's records, and so there's reason to believe that he knows what happened. Despite having a different upbringing and end than his own, the great debt his Lostbelt self owed to Charlotte Corday is something that he will never forget, and he vows to repay her one day.

Standard Weapons: Arrow of light, via his Noble Phantasm "Love's Radiant Stringless Bow".

Related Characters:
Circe: (Quietly smiles and nods intently)
Achilles/Prince Paris: (Smiles broadly while patting them both on the back)
Ajax: (Smiles with nostalgia)
Hector: (Closes one eye after greeting him, and then, without saying anything, makes a toast)
Medea: (Smiles as if seeing something he cares for)
Penthesilea: (Gives a nod of admiration)
Jason/Caenis: (Smiles and pats them both on the back twice)
Charlotte Corday: (Folds his arms, thinking about what's the matter)
Europa: (Scratches his head with a troubled look)
Penelope: (Looks up at the night sky, calling her name out loud)

Comment from Illustrator:

He was a great hero who, during the span of 10 years, travelled more than an air distance of 300km (some theories say the total distance travelled was more than 3000km) to return to his hometown of Ithaca. A tactician and a great man alike. He would fundamentally be a good-looking guy, but he had so many funny episodes, like when he washed up on the beach stark naked, when he was turned into an old man, and when he was tied to the mast of the ship. Because of this, I was worried about how how to really flesh out his design. About the "chest hole" which became a popular topic...I thought it would be necessary to have something like an exhaust vent for the pheromones produced by his unmatched chad energy, so I made that opening. I was also happy to see the implementation of a simple costume with the helmet being made playable. Oh, and I also designed the transforming robot horse. I would have never imagined it would be launched from a catapult, though... (redjuice) ~~~~

Hello everyone!
We are Big Bad Evil Guys TTRPG, a collection of friends who love tabletop roleplaying games so much that we’ve decided to share our characters and stories with the TTRPG community and make some content of our own. To that end, we are streaming our actual play D&D 5e campaign, Welcome to Grey Stand!
Welcome to Grey Stand takes place in the world of Gatia, an original setting from our talented DM, and centers around a small community surviving in the dangerous and chaotic Irised Forest. Gatia is a world without gods or kingdoms, where civilization exists only in small pockets at the mercy of unpredictable elemental forces. The sky and the earth alike can shift in a moment. Great fires can catch without cause, and dire blizzards can rise up on a sunny summer day.
Our party serves as the recently appointed task force of the village of Grey Stand. The forest is a strange and hostile place, and it is their responsibility to assess and address anything that might threaten their little community. Each of our heroes has a place in Grey Stand. They have family, friends, and loved ones, as well as their own jobs in the village. The stakes are clear, and sometimes their personal lives come into conflict with the work they do as a party.
We stream Welcome to Grey Stand every Tuesday, 8pm EST, on Twitch. Tomorrow will be our third session!

2023.05.29 16:47 BeLLiSSiM0_ THC induced Psychosis or really bad OCD.

2023.05.29 16:45 staysoft-geteaten An update to The Colours of Lottie Matthews

You can find the original post exploring how colour is used in Lottie’s costuming here.
In the final two episodes we see Charlotte wearing mostly very dark colours but with hints of blue in ep 7 and more overt gold/yellow in ep 8. Both outfits stick within the Yellowjackets colour theme that she wears throughout but symbolise different things.
Blue - this is the leader Charlotte wants to be and wants the other YJs to see her as. Gentle, guiding, in tune with her surroundings, able to help them.
Black - darker colours begin to appear in Charlotte’s outfits as she spends more time with Nat and becomes the most prevalent colour when all of the adult YJs are gathered together. It could foreshadow death and specifically Nat’s death but I think it also shows that all of the adults share the same inner darkness and trauma from their time in the wilderness.
Yellow - this is the leader Charlotte is. Queen Bee, followed like the sun by her heliotropes but not necessarily with any real power. It’s almost a colour of artifice for her. The fact she is wearing it in the finale shows that she thinks she is in a position of power, the leader, but this isn’t the case - especially as the dominant colour in her outfit is still black. I also think the choker is a very deliberate reference to throat-slitting.
Burgundy - burgundy should be associated with Lottie at her most dangerous, connected to the Wilderness (as an adult) and least trustworthy. I expected to see her in burgundy for the hunt but I think that was an immediate tell for the audience that the hunt wasn’t going to be successful or actually connected to The Wilderness. Both her retort to Shauna and her seemingly lost and confused by the end of the episode show that the connection wasn’t truly there. Perhaps this is a mirror to Teen Lottie saying she can’t hear It anymore and handing over her power. I also wonder if the lack of belief from the other YJs destabilised Charlotte’s belief.
Hope you enjoyed! Love to discuss it further in the comments.

2023.05.29 16:45 TaticalSweater My views on this season. Why I didn’t love it. Why that’s okay and if you liked it that’s fine too.

To start I want to say if you liked this season that’s totally fine and I’m not mad at you at all. I didn’t love this season and I’ll explain why later. But I think its worth saying this ahead of time that if you liked it thats totally fine but just try to see it from someone else’s POV it they didn’t. I see posts quickly trying to dismiss people that didn’t love the season and say things like the expectations they have will never match up to the writing etc. or some of the liked it fans are becoming borderline “We’ll you just didn’t get it” fans of fandoms which quickly gets annoying but I want to keep this respectful. If fans that disliked the show have done the same to fans that do like it thats also not cool.
Why I didn’t like it S2:
I thought the pacing in S2 compared to 1 was awful. This season was extremely slow and for me wasn’t very gripping as S1 and this season was extremely character development heavy. I didn’t seek out this sub reddit until after Ep 7 an Episode I truly didn’t enjoy as the plot barely progressed and it truly felt like filler.
Note: To dismiss the go to excuses at this point: — I don’t need action in shows 24/7 - I like slow burns (if paced well) - I don’t expect to get all the answers in a show like this - I like character development (if paced well)
I’ve seen some try to defend the slow pace to the season because they enjoyed every second of this season. The last 2 episodes had the most action and also felt the most rushed because they had given so much dedication/screen time to character development this season that some whole conversations had to be cut. This could have been for some higher purpose edit cramming in the final 2 episodes. To put some things in perspective this season had 9 episodes. Last 2 were the most action heavy so thats 23% with the other 7 episodes (77%) being character development, character study, light action, and filler (at least in Ep 7 not trying to go back and rewatch the season). So 77% of your season being primarily character development no matter how good it might have been makes this season feel unbalanced.
I still like the show but I 100% get why some people did not love the season. I don’t get some of the things others didn’t like such as they don’t like the 2 timelines, and they don’t like the shauna murder plot. I find those two reasons pretty silly. I can find issues with both but they aren’t my gripe with this season.
If you liked the season I think thats great but I think people on both sides need to understand where people are coming from. I wouldn’t exactly call this a strong season but I know some would. I like this series and will be returning. Despite not loving this season much.

2023.05.29 16:42 Gaming_Esquire What was your first NYPD Blue episode?

What was the first episode you ever saw? Mine was season 1, episode 8, Tempest in a C-Cup. Watched it live on November 16, 1993 (at 12 years old). It had a little of everything. Bare ass and Andy being Andy in the cold open. A good confession arc. Roberts. The debut of Donna.
From IMDB:
Kelly, Martinez, and the officers arrest Luis Hernandez, a baker, for a murder charge. But Detective Mike Roberts, as well as Detective Kelly, try to get him to confess to the robbery of four taxicabs so they can link him to the murder. Meanwhile, Sipowicz arrests a topless dancer for prostitution and she offers to help him get the owner of the bar who's laundering money for the mob. Laura questions Sylvia's ethics, who tries to protect her personal reputation and Sipowicz's verbal attacks on her. Also, Lt. Fancy and the rest of the squad welcomes the new administrative aide, a beautiful blond woman named Donna Abandando, whom the neurotic Detective Greg Medavoy
I had heard about it, read about this racy show in Entertainment Weekly. But when I heard Kevin Nealon say "for the first time on network TV the word dickhead was used" on SNL weekend update, I just had to check it out. This, Homicide and the Wire are the best ever cop shows and it's not even close!
Do you remember the first one you ever saw?

2023.05.29 16:30 KedarBayley012 The irony that we, the viewer, were promised the exact same thing that Kendall was.

I don’t know how many of you have rewatched Season 1 lately, but it’s clear to me just how much Kendall was made to be our protagonist. Way more so than later seasons when the other siblings came into it a lot more. Roman did nothing but be the worst person in the room. He had absolutely zero redeeming moments. Go back and check for yourself. And Shiv, whilst being noticeably more moral, was revealed to abandon this morality by brokering a deal between Logan and Gil to suppress the cruises incident. On top of that, she cheated on her husband throughout the season and this abuse towards Tom only worsened as time went on.
Kendall, on the other hand, is shown in numerous moments to care deeply about the people around him. The woman that is forced to go on a date with him, unbeknownst to Kendall: he fires the lady that set this up. Whilst his cries against sexism, racism, homophobia and the like are revealed to be dubious in later seasons, these do appear to be his genuine views in S1.
He stands up for Roman and Shiv in their lowest moments, particularly at the house in Austerlitz during his own lowest moment. He truly seems to care for Rava and his kids, which slowly faded as the show progressed. S1 Ken is a saint compared to his peers and I believe that’s exactly what the writers intended.
The fact that Kendall’s role in the waiter’s death is not more largely read as the exact reason for this descent into immorality is a discussion for another day. I think that most people assume that Ken’s true self is slowly revealed to us throughout the show, but I think the incident in the UK altered who he was immeasurably and took away the Kendall of S1.
Anyways, the writers clearly set up Ken to be our protagonist, and to be CEO. They promised us it in the very first episode, and nearly every episode after that. The sheer quantity of times they referenced him being the next Logan or the one to kill Logan is just too many to count.
And I think that’s what defines the show’s ending. It provides zero catharsis because we were promised the exact same thing that Ken himself was promised when he was 7. We were promised Kendall as CEO. So when that final shot plays out, it’s almost like we’re also the ones sat in Battery Park, looking out at the water and wondering what this was all for. It’s bleak, I suppose it’s logical, but it’s a story and finale that I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy watching as much again, knowing what’s coming.

2023.05.29 16:28 chadisdangerous An appreciation for the Godfather parallels in the finale

This has probably been pointed out already but I really wanted to take a moment to appreciate the incredible scene where Kendall strong-arms Roman into securing his vote. The finale is filled with incredibly powerful scenes but this one in particular really stood out for me.
They've been leaning into the Godfather parallels this season and this scene to me seemed like the culmination of all of that, specifically the famous scene where Michael reveals to Fredo that he knows he betrayed him. My thoughts are scattered so this will be in point form:
- Roman is obviously Fredo, the pathetic brother that everyone knows isn't capable of the job but still feels that he should have more than the scraps he's been given. Like Fredo he doesn't even visibly register as strong enough to be worthy of the Roy legacy: he's thin, he's sickly looking, he radiates pettiness and insecurity, he doesn't even pretend to be capable of getting married or having a normal sex life (ie he can't keep the dynasty going, which means a lot to the patriarch). He's the runt, the black sheep, doomed by his nature to never be capable of what the family business requires.
- Kendall is obviously Michael, the son who surprises everyone with his killer instinct when circumstances bring it to the fore. He's been on the outs and back in season 3 he was seemingly mentally prepared to leave the family business altogether, but like Michael he discovered something dangerous and powerful in himself when Logan died. Kendall is more emotionally fragile than Michael (his desperate tantrum later in the episode is where this parallel diverges) but in this moment at least he has Michael's cold ambition and ruthlessness, and that's what matters in this context.
- Fredo's betrayal of Michael was a betrayal, certainly, but not a calculated bloodthirsty one. He claims to not know that Michael's life was in danger, and when the two of them have their heart-to-heart all of his insecurities just pour out of him as if he's admitting he wasn't in control of how it all turned out. Roman's impromptu breakdown in Logan's office reminds me a lot of this: he wasn't making a power play, the weight/pressure of the moment just hits him and all of his deep-seated insecurities and “overlooked brother” emotions overwhelm him. And like Fredo it's not a FULL betrayal: Fredo didn't know he was giving away Michael's life and Roman only dangles the possibility of sabotaging the vote.
- And then the violent embrace, the kiss, the reverse betrayal. A lot goes unsaid in both scenes but my god, the emotions are powerful and the implications are so clear. Kendall/Michael embraces Roman/Fredo but it's aggressive and forceful, an embrace devoid of warmth or love. Kendall/Michael kisses Roman/Fredo but it's a kiss that says “how dare you?”, a kiss that accuses, a Judas kiss where both parties know it's not what it seems. There's an element of “keeping up appearances” in play: Michael whispers instructions to Fredo as he does all of this and Kendall is clearly trying to force Roman's hand in a context where appearances are everything. And in both scenarios Michael/Kendall respond to their brother's betrayal with their OWN betrayal: Fredo knows Michael is sealing his fate with that kiss, and Roman knows that if he sabotages the vote his brother will cut him out and he'll lose that sibling relationship that is perhaps the only meaningful thing in either of their lives.
- A really sharply observed detail, maybe coming more from Pacino/Strong, is that neither Kendall or Michael blink when they deliver the kiss. It's intense for them emotionally but there's something incredibly cold and deliberate about the way they go about it. They are burying their souls as deep within themselves as they can in order for them to be able to do this at all. And honestly it'd be foolish of me to write all of this and not point how deeply incredible Al Pacino, John Cazale, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin are in these roles. Iconic, legacy-defining performances.
- "I know it was you, Fredo" / "It could have been you". The scene recontextualizes Michael's famous statement: Kendall is literally saying Roman could have been the CEO in another world, but he's also saying that Roman COULD betray him like Fredo but he knows he won't. There's an implicit threat there, and implicit sentiment of "you'll fall in line, I know you will".
- The power dynamic between the two sets of brothers is tested and then secured in the coldest, saddest way possible: Roman/Fredo tries to fight for a bigger pile of scraps and Kendall/Michael shuts it down, lets him know who's really in charge, opens up his wounds and rubs salt in them. The “don” doesn't just exercise his power, he needs to FLEX it a bit for it to be meaningful, for it to have the force he desires. And in doing so he reveals just how far he's fallen.
- An interesting but very important contrast that I'd be remiss to leave out: when Kendall kisses Roman you get the impression Logan would be proud, but it's equally clear that Vito would NEVER have wanted his sons to go down this path. The big thing missing in both scenes is the presence of the patriarch but Succession uses this to twist the knife even deeper, as if even hardened criminal Vito Corleone has a kinder heart than the bastard Logan Roy who always revelled in hurting and dividing his children. This is what it looks like when the bonds of family are poisoned.
I don't want to go too far with overanalyzing these parallels because there's a point where they diverge and it's not a 1:1 in the first place, but the memory of the Corleone saga really hangs over this final season of Succession and makes that final Roy kid blowup so much more tragic and powerful. Make no mistake, this was a tragedy from the beginning and the allusions to the Godfather series really underline that.
