2023.03.30 07:34 Elina_01 Economic and Trade Cooperation between Indonesia and China
Since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Indonesia and China in 2013, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has entered a period of comprehensive deepening. 2021, the accession of both countries to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) has provided new opportunities and momentum for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Trade: China has been Indonesia's largest trade partner for nine consecutive years and the largest export destination for six consecutive years. 2021, the bilateral trade volume between China and Indonesia exceeded USD 120 billion, up 58.6% year-on-year, ranking first among ASEAN countries in terms of growth. The trade structure of the two countries is highly complementary. China's main exports to Indonesia include mechanical and electrical products, iron and steel and their products, mainly industrial manufactured products; its main imports from Indonesia include mineral fuels, iron and steel, animal and vegetable oils and fats, mainly energy resource-intensive products and agricultural products.
Investment: China is the third largest source of foreign investment in Indonesia, with major investment areas including infrastructure construction, energy generation, telecommunications high-tech, business and internet services. Chinese investment projects in Indonesia are spread across all regions of Indonesia, especially in remote areas outside of Java, in line with the Indonesian government's strategic goal of promoting balanced regional development. Chinese investment in Indonesia also brings multiple benefits such as employment, technology transfer and supply chain optimization.
Cooperation: China and Indonesia have carried out a series of major cooperation projects under the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative, such as the Yawan High Speed Rail, Jakarta-Bandung Expressway and Bali Cross-Sea Bridge. These projects have not only improved Indonesia's infrastructure and accessibility, but also promoted local socio-economic development and livelihood improvement. In addition, the two countries have strengthened cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, vaccine development and production.
Production: China and Indonesia are cooperating in the field of minerals, steel, rubber and other "downstreaming", i.e. processing or adding value in Indonesia before export, in order to improve the quality and income of Indonesia's exports, and also to meet the market demand in China. China's Zhejiang Qingshan Group and Jiangsu Delong Company have invested in smelters in Sulawesi, providing technical and financial support to Indonesia's mineral "downstreaming" process.
Consumption: China's Alibaba Group and Tencent Group have invested in local e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, such as Lazada and Tokopedia, providing Indonesian consumers with convenient online shopping services and opening up the Indonesian market for Chinese goods. China and Indonesia have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation, which has expanded the number of tourists and tourism projects between the two countries and enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Finance: China's Industrial and Commercial Bank and Construction Bank have set up branches or representative offices in Indonesia, providing financial services such as loans, settlement and insurance for enterprises in both China and Indonesia. China and Indonesia have also signed the Currency Swap Agreement to establish a bilateral local currency settlement mechanism, which reduces exchange rate risks and transaction costs. China and Indonesia have also explored and exchanged ideas in the fields of digital currency and financial technology, which have provided reference and support for the development and innovation of the financial markets of both countries.
In conclusion, the economic interdependence between China and Indonesia is diversified, deepened and of high quality, and is an important part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as a reflection of the common interests and well-being of the two peoples.
I believe that to continue to promote economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China, we can start from the following aspects:
- adhering to multilateralism, maintaining the international order of free trade and open cooperation, opposing unilateralism and protectionism, and jointly maintaining regional peace and stability;
- Strengthen cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, support the World Health Organization's leadership role in global epidemic fighting, promote fair distribution and accessibility of vaccines, and restore the smooth flow of people and logistics.
- Deepen the construction of free trade zones, implement the RCEP agreement, promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, lower tariff and non-tariff barriers, and expand market access.
- Promote infrastructure connectivity, strengthen the dovetailing of the Belt and Road Initiative and ASEAN's Master Plan 2025 on Connectivity, accelerate the construction of major projects, and improve physical, institutional and human connectivity in the region.
- Innovate cooperation models, strengthen cooperation in emerging areas such as digital economy, green development and smart cities, accelerate policy coordination and rule-making, and promote scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

2023.03.30 07:29 Dessert_Bobbler Can we talk about risk?
After every tragic occurrence of children dying at the hands of an active shooter in a school, we get these posts on here from parents who vow to homeschool their kids, because they fear that their child is next. The thought of an active shooter in our child's school is so frightening to us as parents, that we are tempted to let this extreme emotional response guide our decision making. But please consider:
Children are far safer when they are inside of a school than they are when they are outside of a school. They are even safer in school than when they are in their own home. By far the leading cause of death among US children 0-11 is unintentional injury/accident. Many accidental deaths are motor vehicle related, falls, drowning, and firearm related. Very few of these occur in school. The third most common cause of death for ages 0-11 is homicide. Again, very few of these occur in school. For teens, accident is still the leading cause of death, followed closely by suicide as the second leading cause.
Here are the numbers of people killed in active shooter attacks at K-12 schools in the US each year since 2010, according to the
K-12 School Shooting Database:
2010: 2 2011: 1 2012: 30 (includes Sandy Hook) 2013: 2 2014: 5 2015: 0 2016: 1 2017: 3 2018: 29 (includes Santa Fe and Parkland) 2019: 3 2020: 0 2021: 4 2022: 21 (includes Uvalde)
Please compare those numbers with the following:
According to the National Safety Council, each year, about 2,000 children ages 14 and under die as a result of a home injury. Unintentional home injury deaths to children are caused primarily by fire and burns, suffocation, drowning, firearms, falls, choking, and poisoning.
Researchers with the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center analyzed 2016 death certificate data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to determine the leading causes of death for American children and adolescents ages 1 to 19. Of the 20,360 deaths among children and teens that year, motor vehicle crashes accounted for 4,074 lives lost and one-fifth of all deaths, while firearm-related injuries resulted in 3,143 deaths, or about 15 percent of total fatalities.
Safe does not mean eliminating all risk. It means living life weighing the risks, and benefits, of your decisions against the risks, and costs, of the alternatives to those decisions.
Your kids are safe in school people.

2023.03.30 07:29 Huge-Airline-7064 armed career criminal act
The Armed Career Criminal Act (ACCA) is a federal law that imposes enhanced sentencing on individuals who have committed certain crimes and have a history of violent offenses. The ACCA has been the subject of much controversy in recent years, with critics arguing that it leads to disproportionately harsh sentences for non-violent offenders.
Overview of the Armed Career Criminal Act: The ACCA was passed in 1984 as part of a larger effort to combat violent crime. The law mandates that individuals who have been convicted of three or more violent felonies or serious drug offenses face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Under the ACCA, a “violent felony” is defined as any crime that
armed career criminal act A crime qualifies as such if it involves the utilization, attempted utilization, or threat of utilization of physical force against another individual; or if it pertains to burglary, arson, or extortion, entails the use of explosives, or in any other way involves behavior that poses a significant potential danger of physical harm to others.
The law has been amended several times since its passage, with the most recent amendment coming in 2015.
Controversies Surrounding the Armed Career Criminal Act:
The ACCA has been the subject of much debate and controversy in recent years. Critics argue that the law’s definition of a “violent felony” is too broad and can include non-violent offenses, such as burglary or drug trafficking.
Furthermore, critics argue that the mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years is disproportionately harsh, particularly for non-violent offenders. They also point to racial disparities in sentencing under the ACCA, with African American defendants more likely to be sentenced under the law than white defendants.
Proponents of the ACCA argue that the law is necessary to combat violent crime and that repeat offenders pose a significant threat to public safety.
Recent Developments and Future of the Armed Career Criminal Act: armed career criminal act
The year 2015 saw the Supreme Court make a ruling in Johnson v. United States, deeming the definition of a “violent felony” under the ACCA to be unconstitutionally indefinite. Consequently, a significant number of individuals who had been sentenced under the ACCA had their sentences either commuted or invalidated.
However, the Trump administration attempted to revive the law by issuing new guidelines for prosecutors to use in determining whether a crime qualifies as a “violent felony” under the ACCA. The Biden administration has since rescinded these guidelines, indicating that it may take a more lenient approach to enforcing the ACCA.
Examples of Cases Under the Armed Career Criminal Act: One notable case under the ACCA is United States v. Johnson, in which the defendant, Samuel Johnson, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Johnson argued that his prior convictions did not qualify as “violent felonies” under the ACCA and that his sentence was therefore unconstitutional. However, the court upheld his sentence, finding that his prior convictions for burglary and aggravated assault did indeed qualify as violent felonies.
Another example is United States v. Sims, in which the defendant, Calvin Sims, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Sims argued that his prior convictions for burglary and possession of a controlled substance did not qualify as “violent felonies” under the ACCA. However, the court again upheld his sentence, finding that his prior burglary conviction qualified as a violent felony.
Challenges to the Armed Career Criminal Act: armed career criminal act
The ACCA has faced numerous challenges over the years, both in the courts and in Congress. Critics argue that the law’s definition of a “violent felony” is too broad and can result in excessively harsh sentences for non-violent offenders. They also point to racial disparities in sentencing under the ACCA, with African American defendants more likely to be sentenced under the law than white defendants.
Furthermore, there have been concerns about the cost of enforcing the law, as well as the impact it has on prison populations. Some advocates have called for the law to be amended or repealed entirely, while others argue that it is an important tool in combatting violent crime.
Future of the Armed Career Criminal Act: The future of the Armed Career Criminal Act remains uncertain, with ongoing debates about its effectiveness and fairness. Some advocates argue that the law should be amended or repealed entirely, while others believe that it is a necessary tool in combatting violent crime.
The Biden administration has indicated that it may take a more lenient approach to enforcing the ACCA, with Attorney General Merrick Garland stating that the Department of Justice will review its charging and sentencing policies to ensure that they are fair and just. This could lead to fewer individuals being sentenced under the ACCA and more focus on alternative forms of rehabilitation and punishment for repeat offenders.
In addition, some states have implemented their own versions of the ACCA, with varying definitions of what constitutes a “violent felony.” This has led to inconsistencies in sentencing across different jurisdictions, and advocates have called for a more uniform approach to sentencing for repeat offenders.
The Armed Career Conclusion armed career criminal act
The Armed Career Criminal Act remains a controversial federal law that imposes enhanced sentencing on individuals with a history of violent offenses. While the law has been effective in combatting violent crime, it has also been the subject of much debate and criticism. The future of the ACCA remains uncertain, with ongoing discussions about its effectiveness, fairness, and potential for reform. As the Biden administration takes a new approach to criminal justice policy, it remains to be seen how the ACCA will be enforced in the years to come.

2023.03.30 07:29 Tacet_Umbra I have two offer letters and don't know which one to accept.
I am 23 y/o and am graduating from college this May with a degree in engineering. Like many students during their graduating semester, I have been applying to jobs for after graduation. A month ago I got an offer from Company A for $76,000/yr. I was super excited that I got such a great offer, especially considering my less-than-great GPA. Company A is a mid-sized company that I had never heard of before I applied but seems like a good company and the job sounds fairly interesting to me. I accepted their offer letter via their company portal but have not put my signature on anything yet.
Now fast forward to last week, when one of my dream companies (Company B, a large defense contractor) reached out to me about a fantastic position and wanted to schedule an interview. I honestly wasn't expecting to hear back from Company B given my mediocre at best GPA stated earlier. The interview was earlier today and several hours after the interview they sent me an offer letter. I was astonished to see that I got accepted but was a bit torn when I saw the compensation. Company B offered me $66,200/yr, which is by no means a small number but compared to the offer from Company A it seems to fall a little short.
Some additional context and notes on things that are driving my decision. If both companies were offering the same compensation I would choose the position with company B. Finances are something I have to consider because my girlfriend (whom I will be living with) plans on going to graduate school for two years, during which we agreed that I will be responsible for the majority of household expenses including rent + utilities, groceries, etc. Both companies are located in cities with below national average cost of living, however, the city that company B is located in has a slightly higher cost of living than the city company A is located in. I like both cities equally so there is no way to decide on location alone. Finally, I believe both positions are well suited for me and neither one would be a wrong choice, I am simply trying to figure out which company would be a better choice.
Some questions that have been racing through my head: Should I accept the position with company B which aligns more with my dream job? Or should I seek more financial security with Company A which may not be as closely aligned with my dream job? If I wanted to, could I even accept the position with company B since I already "accepted" the position with company A? Am I in a position to counter the offer from company B given my lack of professional experience?
I would really appreciate some advice because I am the definition of young and dumb and have three days to get back to company B. At this point, I'm honestly considering giving it up to a coin flip because I am losing sleep over this.

2023.03.30 07:29 itechnolabs How to Manage an Offshore Software Development Team Effectively?
| https://preview.redd.it/xuxu6a69btqa1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d12de591bf04de35dcf3a2edaaa2aeae1f9ec73 It is hardly surprising that more businesses have recently shown interest in acquiring development services offshore. Following their emergence into the global market, offshore software suppliers now offer numerous options for established US and European corporations. The offshore software development team is typically provided in countries with labor costs significantly lower than in the region where the services are sought. This is very practical for company owners and lucrative for IT outsourcing companies. If you have decided to outsource your software development, the first step is identifying your primary strategies for managing a remote workforce. Despite all the tremendous advantages of outsourcing, like quickness, cost-effectiveness, and top-notch quality of service, managing an offshore development team hundreds of kilometers away from you is pretty complicated. This blog will explain how to properly manage an offshore software development team and examine the top methods. What is an Offshore Team? Its Challenges & Benefits The term “offshore team” refers to selecting a team of experts from locations distant from your company headquarters. Due to a significant time difference, the crew may work in a separate time zone. Or, if necessary, they must modify their shift to meet your needs. For example, Europe is a focal point for offshore development for customers from the US and other countries. Offshoring should be distinct from outsourcing, though. The latter indicates that staff from a partner company handles your business operations. On the other side, your business employs an offshore crew, but they perform outside the head office. Benefits - It is a cost-effective approach. Both stakeholders will earn from it: the offshore development teams will have additional employment opportunities, and the businesses will have a more affordable way to find talented individuals.
- It promotes quicker onboarding. Recruiting an offshore software development team is simpler than recruiting an entire workforce.
- It also provides flexibility. You have many choices when you outsource software development, from the technical talents you want to acquire for your project to the cost of a professional and the duration of your association.
- An offshore development service team can access a wide range of skills. Choosing people with various levels of technical competence and diverse technical experiences by your business requirements is made possible by outsourcing, which offers you exclusive access to a sizeable tech-skilled workforce.
- The offshore development team provides a fast beginning for your development projects. The time spent looking for, hiring, and training expertise is unnecessary. With outsourcing, you can choose from various professionals your IT partner provides, allowing you to begin the development process as soon as the contract is signed.
Challenges Before beginning to work with the offshore software development team, there are a few things to keep in mind. As a result, you will be capable of preparing for the many difficulties that come with leading offshore development teams and discovering the best remedies for any problems: - Due to different time zones, you may need help managing the development team if they are far away.
- Language obstacle is another challenge in an offshore development team. Establishing productive collaboration between you and an offshore software development team is more accessible by communicating correctly.
- There is a possibility of a rise in Cultural differences. You will be required to deal with cultural eccentricities. Choose an offshore software development team if you have an alternative.
- Communication can also become a challenge. Likely, the outcome will only be what you want if essential requirements, project parameters, and daily tasks are successfully articulated.
- Not all businesses know the obstacles in controlling offshore development teams based overseas. It presents several difficulties; thus, developing a management strategy is required before considering outsourcing.

Hi,
All battery powered zigbee sensors I see use disposable batteries. That's a shame because the live span of a battery for a sensor is about 1 year and if you have say 100 sensors you have to replace a lot of batteries every year. Not only doe sit cost money, and in some countries more than others.
Are there sensors that use rechargeable batteries?
I want to try avoiding dumping so much batteries in the trash.

2023.03.30 07:28 OsFireTruck Rock chip repair before PPF?
Hi All,
Bought a 16k mile RS5 and the previous owner did not have any PPF installed. From my inspection, these are the largest rock chips on the car that I'm concerned about. The detail shop told me that applying PPF over these might show some bubbling since the paint is uneven. They can do some touch up but since my paint color has metal flake in it the touch up might make look worse.
Has anyone done paint touch up for Daytona Gray Pearl paint color? How'd that end up looking?
I'm trying to decide if I should let the detail shop touch up the chips using factory color paint from the Audi dealership. OR to look for a body shop and get a repaint repair (not sure what the cost of this might be).

2023.03.30 07:27 mnscredit Can debt collectors collect internationally?
Yes, debt collectors can collect internationally.
International debt recovery services agencies can work with debtors located in different countries to recover unpaid debts. However, the international debt collection process is often complicated, as it involves navigating various laws, regulations, and cultural differences.
International debt collection requires knowledge of the laws and regulations in both the debtor's country and the collector's country. For example, debt collectors must comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in the United States, which governs how debt collectors can interact with debtors. They must also be aware of any applicable laws in the debtor's country that may affect debt collection efforts, such as data protection laws or limitations on collection efforts.
Language and cultural differences can also pose challenges to international debt collection efforts. Debt collectors may need to adapt their communication methods to the local customs and preferences of the debtor's country. They may also need to work with local partners or translators to overcome language barriers.
In addition, international debt collection can be costly and time-consuming. Debt collectors may need to engage legal or debt recovery professionals in the debtor's country to help facilitate the debt collection process. They may also need to pursue legal action in the debtor's country to enforce a debt, which can be a lengthy and complicated process.
In summary, while debt collectors can collect internationally, the process is often complex and requires knowledge of various laws, regulations, and cultural differences. Debt collectors must be prepared to navigate these challenges to effectively recover unpaid debts from debtors located in other countries.

2023.03.30 07:26 JagoStreet Opinions on Victorian Homebuyer Fund?
https://www.sro.vic.gov.au/homebuyer Hey all, my partner and I are looking at buying our first house and we've just seen the Victorian Homebuyer Fund, basically the Vic government will cover a % of the costs for a house (up to 25%) ownership, however they will own a share of the house equal to the percentage of their contribution. This means if the value increases so does the dollar amount of thier share.
Personally I prefer the idea of owing the government money rather than a bank, however I've only got a good grasps of the basics when it comes to finance knowledge.
I'm wondering what other people's thoughts on this scheme, or schemes like it are? Do you think there's any hidden gotchas or easy to overlook issues?
