Hi, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read. Let me start by saying I swear I'm not having a mid-life crisis. Everything is fine I'm just super indecisive.
So, my son (8m), my fiance (24f) and I (32m) live together in a 3 bedroom townhouse owned by her father. This essentially means we're getting a brea on the rent (paying $1350 per month when it should be around $1900-$2100). Back when covid hit and I got laid off I decided to leave the union and quit iron-working. I found a government grant that paid for me to go to Hvac school for free.
I graduated and made $100k my first year and around $135k my second. Iron-working I was making about $70k-$75k so this was a huge bump.
The only amoun of "splurging" I've done is paid roughly $30k to build the 1963 Chevy II SS I've been dragging around with me since I was 16, and the upcmoing wedding in October costing around $20k (FIL is contributing $10k and MIL is contributing $5k) so only $5k out of pocket for me.
Now keep in mind, before switching to Hvac I had virtually no savings and was living paycheck to paycheck. Currently I have about $18k in a roth ira account because my new employer doesnt offer 401k and I had to move out of my previoud employers provider. I have about $28k between my checkings and savings, another $70k in cash, about $10k in silver, and another $5k between a robinhood, wealthfront and charles schwab investment account. At the moment im averaging about $3.5k per week in gross revenue.
Heres the issue.
I am bored beyond belief and I dont feel i make anywhere near the amount of money I want/need to in order to retire by 40 (soft goal). I’m super insecure about my financial portfolio. I am chock full of ideas; some of which I feel could easily be multi-million dollar companies if they aren't already. I am hyper motivated but feeling discouraged after three failed business attempts.

I grew up super poor and was not by any means a model citizen growing up and have worked very hard and spent hundreds of hours in therapy to sperate myself from not only that lifestyle but from the people I grew up with so I dont have many friends left or at least no "lifers" that I've known for 18+ years or whatever.
I just feel like im at a platue now and I cant figure out what to do to take the next step. I want to take the $130k per year and make it $260k per year. That's what I've done my entire life. My entire resume is level-up list where every new Job I've acquired I've made more money than the lasy or at least improved my quality of living substantially compared to the previous situation and I’m ready for that. I want to have more children with this girl that I love. I want to get big ol house with some land and chickens and more dogs and have toys to fuck around on. I refuse to be one of the antiwork people and cower the the climate of hyper capitalism. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it happens I’m just waiting for that one opportunity to come along. I even have an llc just sitting there doing nothing atm. At the very least I’d love some advice on how best to allocate the $70k cash I have and put that money to work.

Basically what the title says. I mean those little "Mom & Pop" places that are usually super cheap. Where the staff refers to everyone as "hun", "sweetie", or some other pet name.
Bonus points if the heath check would be... questionable.
For me, it is Home Cafe on 24th & Q. The food always reminds me of the food Grandma would make. The menu is dirt cheap ($15 for a huge breakfast). The elderly staff is always super friendly, inviting. They work "cash only" and I'm pretty sure the owner does all the building maintenance themselves.

First of all I apologize for any formatting issues, I'm posting this from my phone and it doesn't want to play nice it seems.
I love this game to death and will continue to play it because it really is special. But over the course of it being officially released, some significant issues arose. I wanted to wait about a month to see how things were addressed and handled, and Ody has done a fantastic job addressing some issues, but others have been making the game harder to recommend since my friends will most likely play a a few games, encounter some of the bigger issues, and then never come back because of the first impression. I was so excited to have my brother play, but after maybe 10 games he said he was finished with it and he might come back after the full experience is more polished. I really want my friends to enjoy Omega Strikers and stick around, because this game really is fun and awesome, it just needs to get over a few significant hurdles.
1. The leaveafk problem: Clearly a 15 minute timer is not enough to deter these players from doing what they do. Harsher punishment is definitely necessary. Even if I go into a game and I'm lagging like crazy due to a server issue or even if my internet decides to poop itself, I stick around. It's not hard. If players need to be locked out of games for 24 hours after 3 leaves/afks within a day, so be it. I think the point needs to be driven home that afk players or leavers won't be tolerated.
2. Mobile players: This kind of related to my first point. I've seen people I know playing a match on their phones, only to get a text/notification and move away from the game to respond, or just swipe up and exit the game entirely. The reasoning? "It's just a phone game so I can pick it up and put it down whenever I want." I know that this has to be more common than just the few people I personally know. Mobile players should be in their own lobbies unless partied with PC/console players. It's just too easy for them to get distracted by other things and leave games or go afk while they check the TikTok their friend sent them. This can extend a bit to console players since consoles generally have a home button that takes them out of their game at the press of a button, but I feel like the issue is mostly mobile players doing this.
3. Big boy lag issues: I know Ody is working around the clock to keep this game working as well as possible, but it seems like some of the lag spikes will cause rubberbanding like I've never seen before. I'm on a very fast connection without any issues in other games, so hopefully this can be figured out. The centrally located server thing is a good idea, but I hope it isn't purely for high-rank players. We all deserve to have these issues taken care of.
4. Miscellaneous: These things aren't very pressing but they're still issues nonetheless. Affinity levels are still not updating without quitting the game and relaunching it. Account levels don't update unless you quit and relaunch either. The friend system is still a little janky, and the friend list icon shows your total friends rather than how many are online and ready to play. I don't care how many friends I have in total, I care about how many are online at a glance. The shop feels like it's going to be a pain in the butt to navigate once this game starts to get more and more cosmetics. I hate to reference League's shop, but having multiple rows able to be scrolled through vertically helps navigating SO much more than one row that infinitely scrolls horizontally (at least it will in the near future with more additions).
I'm not trying to bash Omega Strikers or Ody at all whatsoever. You guys are a small team with a big game and I'm cheering for you and rooting for you and giving you my money because you deserve it. I just really, really hope that these things can be figured out before too long. You deserve to be a massive success, and addressing some of the bigger issues earlier will definitely help lock that success down in the long run. I'll continue to play Omega Strikers and spread the good word and give y'all my cash. I know you listen to the community, so as a member of the community, I just wanted to bring up some of my concerns in the hopes that my little voice may be heard by anyone but myself, lol.

I am a student and fortunate to be starting a wellpaying graduate job (~50k/ year) in August. I have just realised that I won't get my first pay-check until late September. This means that I have 3 months of rent to pay until my first pay-check, and my current finances means that I will be about £300 short to pay that rent alone (if I go into my overdraft). To be able to buy food and live etc, I think I need at least another £1,000.
I'm not sure whether to open a credit card, get a loan, or go into my help to buy ISA. Going into my ISA means it would take me a long time to put the money back in (as you can only put in £200 a month). Equally, ideally I don't want to start my new job in lots of debt.
Alternatives are using Klarna type services ... or to get a casual job for the month before I start working. But, it would be nice to relax before starting quite an intense job after a long year of studying, and I don't know how easy it will be to get a job for one month that would pay me cash in hand or on the following week etc.

I’ve been working on a Strategy Game called “Tactics” that’s played entirely on a discord server. I’m now at the stage where I need playtesters to help me find bugs, refine game mechanics, and provide overall feedback.
In Tactics, you control a colored circle on a grid. Once per day you are awarded 1 action point which you can use to move, attack, trade, or upgrade.
This game relies heavily on player communication. You’ll need to form alliances with and maybe even backstab your fellow players to achieve victory.
Since action points are only given daily you won’t need to dedicate much of your time to participate. Just a few minutes each day to check the board and send some messages to the other players.
Depending on how many people I am able to recruit, the game is expected to last about 2 weeks to 1 month.
But don’t worry! If you die 2 weeks in, you aren’t out yet, you can still be revived by an alive player. Dead players also get to vote each day to decide which player will get an extra action point that day.
Hoping to get around 20 players if possible.

I was traveling in Europe and had to take out a large amount of cash to pay for a hotel because my credit card had been cancelled (or my request -- spotted fraud charges). It was 10pm on a Saturday night and I got a referral from the hotel for a supposedly good bank. But when I went to make the withdrawal, no money was given, just an error message and then the machine went back to the beginning. Checked my account via my banks app and saw the money had been deducted from my account.
Tried calling the bank but no English option, tried calling my bank as well but couldn't get through. Finally googled what to do and saw that these things usually get reconciled after 2 business days.
Waited 3 business days but no refund. Emailed the local bank and was told to deal through my bank. Finally got to my bank and they said that I can contest the withdrawal but it will take up to 55 days. No case number was given, they didn't ask for any documents (I took a screenshot of the error message).
Any suggestions as to anything else I can do while waiting 55 days? Do these things usually get sorted out? What do I do if they just say "no"?

That’s probably why I didn’t try really hard to get a girl to satisfy my loneliness and that’s why I had it easy with scoring girls. It’s okay that I don’t got such friends here but now I can actually take care of my own shit. Now is the time I make some self improvements, learn a new skill, explore my interests, travel the places I’ve never been to, make connections with new people in a new country and finally talk to girls without the intention to get laid.
The Moral of my life experience is:
Having desires for someone is one thing and desperately trying to put your dick into anything is something else.

My friend called me this morning about a domestic violence dispute she had with her bf of 2 years last night. He was drunk and smashed everything, broke holes in the wall and physically assaulted her by pushing her into the wall and brushing her.
