Basically a guy and I were talking at work, he asked me out on a date and things were good. We FaceTimed, texted a lot and such everyday for a couple of weeks. He made it seem like he wanted a relationship and said things like “it’s inevitable we’ll end up more than friends” and just said lots of things that made it seem like he wanted something more so even though I was hesitant, I started liking him. He came over twice and I let him grab my ass, but nothing more than that except cuddling. He wanted me to meet his mum, wanted to meet my parents etc. but I told him I wasn’t comfortable w/him meeting my parents since nothings official and that type of thing is important to me. He said he understood. Messaged me a day after the last time he came over after ghosting me and told me because we work together we should just stay friends and that we shouldn’t have talked outside of work. Told me it’s also cause neither of us had our licenses yet and that we’re both in our last year of school. He said that he thought we’d be great together but it probably isn’t a good idea. Told me he was thinking about this the entire time we were talking apparently. I asked him to tell me if there would be anything there in future so I could move on, and he just said best thing for both of us is for me to move on and focus on myself.
After he texted me that, we snapped back and forth a bit but then he started leaving me on open so I just removed him entirely from Snapchat lol. Since then we’ve had a few shifts together but we don’t talk much. He and I occasionally talk; here and there he asks if I’ve gotten my license yet but the other day he jokingly asked me “so, you found any other bitches yet?”, I joked with him and told him I had, then confessed that I didn’t. He then told me he hadn’t either and we kinda just didn’t talk after that.
Kinda still secretly hoping something is there and maybe could be revived lol. He still follows me on Instagram, but we don’t text or talk outside of work. Need opinions on this, anything still there possibly? Should I just let it go? If you were my coworker why would you do this? I just want clarification for this whole situation cause I sure as hell won’t be getting anything from him lol

I've always had issues talking to people face to face and I'm currently in online school. I don't go outside much because I have a literally paralyzing fear of bugs and there are a lot in my area. All of my past friendships have felt really forced and one-sided and even my current ones feel like they will end at any moment. I don't think I'm able to actually make any genuine friends. Everyone I reach out to seems to have no interest in being friends with me and the only people who reach out to me ghost me after like 2 days. The idea of dating is already thrown out the window because of obvious reasons. It doesn't help that I either get way too attached to people emotionally or I don't get attached at all. I'm not capable of feeling much empathy or emotions in general and people just find me annoying because of that. I don't know what to do at this point.

Recently I got into the idea of learning how to dogfight using light fighters, considering the vast majority of my time consisted of FPS combat, vs AI dogfights or using bigger ships for other purposes, now since master modes will end up showing up in the future, I think its a good time to learn how to dogfight using small fighters and translate that skill into master modes and medium fighters.
 
However, the guides and tutorials I looked up, such as from Avenger one or other youtubers, most (if not all of them) use flight sticks, I use mouse and keyboard, their advice and guides don't translate 1 to 1 in this scenario, as moving a ship and aiming is very different using M&K.
 
So Is there a definitive guide from a skilled dogfighter that uses only M&K?
 
What sensitivities are good, using Vjoy settings or Look Direction?
Lag Pip or Lead pip? What keybinds are optimal? which settings specifically for M&K users? why is Look direction sensitivity so low? you get the idea.

Postface: Within Aion
First, Aion is not meant to be sardonic nor satirical -- except, one could argue, in the deepest sense: meaning, contemplative. However, it occurs to me as it likely occurs to you: world-conquering powers of any sort, by their very nature, have a satirical edge to them, as they are at once both hypnotic and laughable. Meaning, too evil or grand to be believed. So, it's comforting to know that world-conquering forces, as a general rule, are considered amusing to the point of exhaustion. They are. That's why most space operas have such an edge to them. However, they are not trivial, and the very best fictionalisations of such are inexhaustible (such as Star Wars and the Foundation series). Ultimately, they teach you something about being human.
Secondly, then, at the deepest level, I wanted to do The Lord of the Rings in space. I believe, if you're not aiming at the deepest themes of Man, you're not aiming at anything worthwhile. (Of course, I certainly have not come close to Tolkien -- but, that's not the point of aiming high.)
Part I: The House of the Gathering
Zombies, and sci-fi in general, had long been on my mind in relation to creating my own wargame, so the notion of having zombies on an alien planet, then, was not foreign to me. But, for the first time, I decided to take zombies seriously, and in the context of deep space. In the end, that meant filling the universe -- or, part of it -- with them... and pitting them against a grand empire of sorts. As hearty Americans say: go big or go home. I went big, in all directions, except with respect to the small scale of the gameplay itself. I believe this somewhat harmonised the two extremes.
The Two Aions
In the first place, Aion (known as the Aion Empire) began a few years ago. It was to be a sci-fi empire (rather, empire-like structure), just like this Aion, only it was contained to Earth -- and featured not a single zombie. This was the birth of High King Balthazar (which I later changed to King Balthazar, and which High King Balthazar II retrospectively changed to High King Balthazar I), the Babylonian, god-king, super-ruler. Note that the Balthazar of Aion's central timeline is High King Balthazar II, but is simply known as High King Balthazar in all informal and most formal matters.
We must ask ourselves, 'What is this strange thing called fiction we engage with? All these games and stories and neo-myths and toy soldiers?' Is it all escapism... or, are these works trying -- yearning, clawing, dying -- to confront something real?
The Babylonian ruler concept, as with the entire the project of Aion, was a slow process of stitching ideas, sometimes disparate ideas, together and upon one another. Over ten years ago, I simply and purely loved the name Balthazar. Shockingly, perhaps, I was informed by The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) more than the Bible; I had all but forgotten that he brought the gift of myrrh to Jesus Christ.
However, I always liked the name Balthazar in a more anti-hero frame than a saint or otherwise hero (though he is the hero of the aforementioned movie). It was finally time to do something with the notion.
He was white in the movie, but is often African [black] in Biblical contexts. I had no idea what I really wanted to do with Balthazar yet, racially/culturally. But, years later, my research led me to a Near Eastern figure of a relatively similar name: Belshazzar, the regent-to-be-king of Babylon before its fall in 539 BC. He kept the title of crown prince (son of the king).
I blended all of this together, making him Babylonian in terms of his ancestry (technically, of the Neo-Babylonian Empire) and an anti-villain (largely ignoring the historical characters of Belshazzar and Balthazar). I also created some other major characters, and collected some old fantasy notes, with the most notable additions being the Rime-Giants.
High King Balthazar I swiftly became a modern Neo-Babylonian (meaning not really Neo-Babylonian at all) cultist and race supremacist: meaning, he wanted the entire world to be just like him, made in his own image, as he believed his ancestry was supreme (dating back to the Neo-Babylonian Empire, in a neo-mythic, historical revisio-negationist kind of way). This is what ultimately led to the Balthazarian world order (meaning, Earth filled only with what Balthazar considered to be descendants of the Neo-Babylonians).
The second Aion was an idea for a comic version of the first: now, High King Balthazar I was an anti-hero-turned-villain with superpowers (circa 2048 AD), and he wore black and purple clothing. His name was simply Balthazar. He was a rather typical modern, dark supervillain (in the style of Alan Moore, primarily). Here, I added the Bronzed Titan, 27, the Librarian, among other characters and supernatural beings, such as The Face (singular and plural). Many of these remained within my Aionic mythos, just in different ways.
I don't overly care whether this be true history or pure propaganda, in-universe, on the part of High King Balthazar II. Or else, some collective cultural Creation myth. You may, as you wish, shift this in your mind more towards fantasy and supernaturalism, or hard sci-fi.
By combing everything, I arrived at my new High King Balthazar I being relatively similar to the old High King Balthazar I; however, the future of his story was very different. This quickly became a long history of so-called High Balthazars thereafter: seven of them. However, I later changed this to just the first two. In fact, I first used the title of High Emperor, but wanted to move away from the Roman framework, and did not want a literal empire at all; thus, I moved back to the title of High King.
Everything else was a simple -- ah, simple -- matter of filling in the blanks for a complete timeline of over 100,000 years (which became 10,000 years as I was compelled to massively shrink the entire setting). In any event, the really difficult part was delicately crafting it, and trimming it, for the purposes of the game.
Of course, all of this became entirely fictionalised as I moved away from Babylon and the Milky Way and invented my own setting, universe, and humanoid race. I kept the name Balthazar, of course.
'Why an empire spanning many galaxies?' You must be asking this. Well, it's tied back into the Akkadian Empire, as it used and likely invented the title, 'King of the Universe'. This is what drove me to such a vast empire in the first place. I knew that High King Balthazar II, final ruler of Balthazarian Aion, had to be King of the Universe, in some sense.
Note that, as far as I'm concerned, High King Balthazar II (and all else, for that matter) is not allegorical, so much as an example of Tolkien's concept of applicability. He's not to be read or understood in any particular political, social, economic, racial, or otherwise real-world terms, either at present or historically. The themes of Aion aim to be as ambiguous and universal as possible, with Balthazar as the overarching vessel (characteplot device) to those themes, for the fandomeer* (though you don't actually play or directly interact with the character of Balthazar, in-game).
Although the overarching framework of Aion is a clear example of racial dictatorship of sorts, and the basis of the Aionic culture was Babylon, there is no real connection to be found. Indeed, I ultimately shifted away from real humans altogether, by making the Balzarian (and Balthazar's, by definition) skin tone to be a white-grey, and they have different genetic markers and overall biology. But, they are still fundamentally 'human'. (Of course, symbolically, culturally, and linguistically, Aion is a great admixture of many Earth cultures, histories, peoples, and languages. Primary focus is on all things Germanic (Germany proper), Nordic (Norse), English (British), American (U.S.), Akkadian, Babylonian, and Japanese, with some Greek and Roman connections.)
*Fandomeer (fandom + eer (in the style of mountaineer, etc.)): a word I coined to express the nuance in the 'follower' of a fandom. The term, 'fan', 'follower', 'gamer', 'reader', 'consumer', or related is not nuanced enough for our purposes, as they do not fully encapsulate the attitudes and activities of a fandomeer. The fandomeer is a very active, often multi-faceted avid fan of some given fandom or space, or multiple (such as Star Trek science, the Wizarding World, or early Nintendo video games). It's meant to be a wide-ranging, neutral term (meaning, not derogatory or complimentary).

My end goal is to control a Stream Deck from nodered and for this I'll need PNG miniatures for each key (and many more than the 15 available keys since they'll change depending on status/menu/sub-pages/whatever)
Also I want either text or gauges on some keys and these have to be generated on the fly (either from a blank image or from an existing background image)
Since my Node Red is running on a potato machine that also has a lot of other work to do I believe it's probably a good idea to cache the images since they'll be reused a lot.
What would be a good node red image generating node?
For caching I believe I can figure a way to assign unique file names during generation and just check these to decide if I should call the image generator or not. Does that seem like a good idea or do you know of a better way to do this within NR?

I (20f) have a friend (23f) who i made the horrible mistake of allowing to move in with me. The deal was pretty straightforward: pay a flat $500/mo and help take care of my animals. That's less than half my rent, btw. I told her I'd take care of the rest. The way I personally saw it at the time was she was providing good company and helping me keep the place clean, so it was fair to me and I was okay with it. I can afford the place on my own, so $500 could essentially help build my savings.
So far, she's absolutely taking advantage of this deal I gave her.
As soon as she moved in, her car broke down. Okay, she can't help that. I helped her get to work while I was working two jobs. I'd work 7:30pm-3:30am. Then 5am-11am. Then pick her up for her 12pm-3pm shifts. I did that for two months. And the thanks I got for that was her coming up short on rent, bringing men over and keeping me awake during the little sleep I did get with their, um, adult activities. I ended up quitting the second job and it worked out that I got a $3/hr pay raise at my main job. Her cars fixed now of course and she's been working more so the $500 hasn't been much of an issue. But NOW the electricity bill is freaking sky rocketing. From April through May essentially I was across the lake with my grandparents getting treatment. Tell me why the bill went from $150 to $350?!?!?!? Because she's keeping the lights on when not using them and keeps the AC at 66 freaking degrees.
She also doesn't take care of my animals the way I asked her to. Like I mentioned, in April I got super stupid sick. Like, it led to me being in the ICU for 4 weeks straight sick and I had tried weeks of treatment before it got to that. Altogether I had something like 7 brain surgeries and had a PICC line that I took home for 2 weeks. While I was in the hospital I suffered two seizures that mimicked strokes, and a brain hemorrhage. Just to give you guys an idea of what I was dealing with. I still paid all my bills, by the way. I explicitly asked her to take care of the house and the cats while I was gone across the lake to stay with my grandparents. She complained constantly about cat piss everywhere, spraying, etc. I come home and find the three litter boxes we have full of shit. Literally full. No freaking wonder they're peeing everywhere, you're not cleaning the litter boxes! And she has a cat herself so you would think she knows this! The house reeks of ammonia and shit, too. Which I'm really, REALLY unhappy about.
I also found out she was shit talking me at her place of work. I was home for a day or two, and she claimed she needed to leave work early because I trashed the place (she works with one of my good friends). I WAS HOME FOR LESS THAN THREE DAYS. The quote unquote trashed she was referring to was that I left a bag of discarded fast food on the table. The day after I confronted her about these remarks, she had left out a pot of rice and chicken soup, and there were raw rice grains all over the counter. She also took out a bag of trash but left it on our back porch instead of taking it to the dumpster. But IM the one trashing the place?
She's rude as hell to my company too. She literally gives stank eye and just doesn't say anything, and starts slamming doors and being loud.
There are so many other issues but those are the main ones.
I'm so, so over it. My lease is up in January but I almost don't want to wait that long to separate from her. The only option would be to sublease, I think. And I guess she has people that wanna move in with her so it's not totally out of the realm of possibilities. But she's very delulu and thinking that she's gonna stay in the complex. With her credit and lack of good pay, her friends all make the same amount she does too. The only reason she was accepted was bc of me having a good rep with the landlord. But if he finds out she was supplying minors with alcohol and weed.....hm.
It's cute. She probably thinks she's getting all the furniture and appliances that I paid for if she stays, because I'd be moving in with my boyfriend who already has his own place. Fuck that, lmao. She couldn't even afford to buy it off of me if she wanted to. I'm sick of this chick taking advantage of me.

This situation isn’t horrendous, but because people typically say the CS is bad I thought I’d share.
Firstly, I have no idea what happened to the host. This was our 3rd stay at this property and I anticipated zero issues. (This was a short stay on the tail end of a stay in another location which was positively fabulous ) On the 1st night, we attempted to watch TV (had a young child) but there was no signal and our child was bummed about that. I messaged the host asking for any suggestions/guidance but she never responded. I was disappointed but we were out and about so I chalked that up to an annoying disappointment. On the 3rd day, the hot water went out. I messaged the host, no response. That evening I messaged her again, told her we could accept no TV but no hot water was not going to work so we were leaving early. (Which we did) The next morning, no response and upon returning home I checked again but there was no response.
At this point I called CS and explained the situation. They took some time to investigate (probably reached out to the host?) and then refund me for my lost night and the night the water went cold.
I’m happy with that and all it took was a short phone call. This host is a SH and was always attentive during past 2 visits so I hope she’s ok.
I don’t intend to leave a review. That said, I will find another place to use next year. (This is in USA btw)

As the title states, I ended up in a bit of a situation. My brain decided to stop functioning temporarily, resulting in me bring my intercepter full of upgrades into the next dimension with me (3rd). I don't have any of the resources needed to fix my ship, and they can't be acquired on the planet I ended up on. Any ideas on how to get out of this situation would be Greatly appreciated. (PS4 BTW)

I don’t even know what to say or feel.
I really, really liked this guy, but we both had a lot of baggage. Mainly, we were both very traumatized by our ex-partners. We both agreed to open communication and honesty. He checked in with me multiple times, asking if he was “enough” for me and if I wanted to leave... I reassured him multiple times that I was not going anywhere. I meant it.
We both felt an instant connection. He was kinky, but also incredibly thoughtful and kind. It felt like our souls aligned. I hadn’t felt like this in a while.
He’s going through a lot of personal family struggles at the moment. I told him I was here to support him, or here to give him space, but I just wanted him to communicate which one he needed. I told him the only unacceptable thing was to ghost me entirely. I told him I was worried and confused. He blew me off for two days. (Before this we had talked all day, every day)
At the end of the second day, when I reached out again to ask what was going on with him and if he was ok, he finally, strangely, responded in the middle of the night. He told me I didn’t understand, had no idea what he was going through, and I was making everything about myself.
And then he blocked me.
It’s been a couple days now. I’m ashamed to admit that I try contacting him multiple times a day through our app, but I just keep getting the “blocked” message. It’s humiliating every time I try, and then doubly humiliating every time it doesn’t go through. And yet, I miss him. I keep trying. I’m ashamed to say I think about making alt accounts just to message him and ask… what the hell, man?
I was very insecure and had to learn to build back a lot of trust for this person. He would repeatedly tell me, “I’m not your ex. Don’t punish me for his sins.” And I had to swallow the trauma I’m working through so I could “let him in.” And then… he does this to me.
It’s my 30th birthday this week and I just feel like such shit. I just don’t understand how you can switch up on someone so easily. Or at the very least, I think you should let someone know, “hey, this is too much for me right now. Wish you the best.” I just got “you have no idea what I’m going through” after being blown off for 2 days, and then the block.
Is that normal? To treat people like this?
The most embarrassing was the first moment I realized I was blocked, mid-conversation. I wrote a long message about how I didn’t want him to misinterpret me, I didn’t want to make him feel bad, I was just worried and confused and wanted to help and I would do anything for him, whether it was support or space… hit send and got the “blocked” message. It never went through. I’ve just been kinda numb ever since.
I have plenty of faults. But I don’t think I’m horribly rotted enough to be treated like this.
Why do men insist that you lower your guard, when they have no intention of protecting your peace?
We are all so selfish. And I am so broken.

This my first time posting so if screw up my grammar and spacing I apologize. Okay to start context I had decided to join a ongoing campaign that my brother was the dm for and was playing a wood elf moon Druid who I will refer to as me. Another character was playing a grim reaper character that had many hombrew abilities that were annoying for my brother to deal with. For reference there’s a good amount of hombrew in the campaign. Anyway I started at the same level as the rest of the party(the grim reaper character and my brother are the ones that caused problems for me) immediately first combat encounter on a boat going into a new area in which my brother sicks a a kraken and another high level monster on the party. Before combat begins I get dragged under due to poor rolls by the time I got back onto the ship I had 6 health left out of my max 66 health. Grim knows my brother is gunning for himself so he and another character decided to make a final stand and make certain I could escape once the two go down the season would end. On a side note if grim truly wanted to his character could’ve survived that but he wanted to play a new character and knew my brother would continue to try to get rid of his character. Little did I know it was a taste of of what was in store. The next character that he’s still playing is a homunculus who started out normal enough but due to some shenanigans in a mini Easter adventure the party ended up scattered around a Scandinavian themed region comprised of a crap ton of tiny villages and kingdom at the center.
This season we were warned not to mess around because my brother was feeling evil and wouldn’t hesitate to off a character. Grim now playing his homunculus character enters one of the small villages and a group of guards recognizes what he is tell him to leave to which he proceeds to attack the guards. Turns out without another character present he temporarily becomes a murder hobo. After eventually being forced to flee he finds out that he was facing royal guards that were designed to be overpowered. I enter the same village a hour or two after he left and ask what happened to the village when noticing the damage. I hear about his rampage and am asked if I knew him to which I responded with “I am aquatinted with with him” in my mind meaning that I know of him and but I’m not necessarily associated with him. Apparently in my my brother’s mind that meant that I admitted to working with him and he proceeds to have the guards nearly kill my character and then capture her.
The prison break After learning that if I am found to be associated with a homunculus it’s the death penalty for my character I put a plan that I had been given by a fellow ttrpg player not in the campaign. The plan was simple make a exit of some kind and create a cavity under the cell to hide myself inside and wait for the guards to exhaust themselves looking for me everywhere EXCEPT the cell. Everything went according to plan I shattered the bars by encasing them in ice and used mold earth to create the cavity but in order to do both I had to roll performance checks the first didn’t matter much as long as I succeeded the second would determine how obvious it was that I was doing what I was doing. Where the plan went wrong was when a guard had noticed that I was no longer in my cell and calls over four more guards who ALL DO INVESTIGATION CECKS on my cell. I end up my hiding spot was found so I used mold earth to tunnel my way out of there. Later I called him out on it and he told me for some reason he had the same royal guards from earlier guarding my cell as the reason for the five investigation checks and when I pointed out that my character nearly died because they said that they knew of the homunculus he responded with but your character survived right? So what do you want me to do? Was I a asshole?
I fell the need to clarify about the homunculus player’s incident he intended to do as much damage as possible and as a side note abuses polymorph.

Would you move countries for your SO?
I (24F) have been with my boyfriend (30M) for 6 months. My bf is returning to the US in 6 months time and intends to stay and work in the US as a medical doctor, hopefully close to where his family lives.
I am an Australian lawyer working in one of the largest international law firms in the world. I have a pretty solid career ahead of me.
Our relationship has been incredibly strong. We see each other 2-3 times a week. We share the same humour, similar hobbies, similar interests, similar if not the same goals for our future. We both want to get married and settle down and have kids. Our chemistry is off the roof. We have never once fought. We have had disagreements about political topics but they were all resolved amicably. He cares for me and makes me feel so loved and I do the same to and for him too. We both agree we can see a future with each other.
Initially, I was confident with my plan of uprooting my life to be with my bf in US. I planned to study and take the bar, then apply for attorney jobs, then make the move once I’ve secured a job.
The last few days I’ve been going through intense turmoil. I’ve been feeling incredibly doubtful that uprooting my life to be with the love of my life in US (which, prior to meeting him, i would never consider visiting let alone living there) would be a good idea. I felt like (and still do!) I was being ripped in half.
I was worried that i’d be throwing away the career I worked so hard to establish. My friends and family, my support circle - I’d be leaving that all behind. Aus is a very beautiful and safe country - I’ve be leaving that behind too. What if I hated living in the US? What if I felt incredibly isolated and alone? What if the culture is just not right for me?
Cue the past 48 hrs of me crying non stop, telling him the relationship has to end because I couldn’t see a future in the US…then me taking back my words and changing my mind and saying I’ll give things a go because I love him so much …then me backtracking and thinking that I’m already feeling overwhelming grief about this situation, there is no way this is a good sign that I’m meant to uproot my life…
I’m just so torn. On one hand, I love this man. I sincerely believe he is the one for me.
On the other hand, I cannot bear to leave my life in Aus, my family, my friends, my home, to be somewhere where I have no connections, no nothing.
Should I try and work towards making that move, then if it fails (e.g if I fail the bar or I fail to get a job in the US), then it’s a sign this relationship is not meant to be?
Or should I just give up and rip the bandaid now by ending the relationship - if it’s better to face the pain now than to endure worse heartache later.
My bf amidst my dilemma has been so incredibly supportive. He understands that it is such a difficult decision to make and is supportive of whatever route I choose. Even if it means breaking up, he would still be so kind and understand because he knows I have to sacrifice so much to be with him.
I don’t know what to do. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

The older history I'm not so sure about, with the civil war stuff etc but I feel as though two major clues happened this episode;

1. They are (were) human. Kristi's anguish at this fact made it clear that they were once human but were 'mummified' inside. To me, not being a doctor in the least, I'm assuming that's what human internal organs look like after say 70 or so years without nourishment/blood etc? So 70 years ago or whatever lines up with humans being transformed into the creatures we know now, with their 60s outfits etc.
   
2. The ending with the corpse lady says to me that people were ritually sacrificing their children by drowning them in the Brundles, to appease or summon an awful entity. This would explain the sickly child ghost creatures that we've seen and it explains why Elgin was asking about the Brundles as well as the little nod to him and Julia messing around by the pool; we've never seen a single character interact with the pool or enter that area before.
   

Overall my working theory is roughly as follows;
I think this ritual had been happening for a long time and that someone decided to break the cycle somehow (boy in white?) which resulted in the towns people being cursed/transformed and the town being placed in a kind of bubble to keep whatever this big bad entity is inside (this could have been an intentional thing or just a side effect.) This would explain why the wires stop and why there's a motel sign and pool but no motel; the lights still function because that's just how it was when the town was 'sealed up', almost like a snapshot in time, and the motel was just sort of outside the selected area?
I did have an idea that the trees in the road were broken down faraway trees and the reason people were transported was because the 'far away' powers were going kind haywire but it seems to be a bit more intentional than that.

I am not sure if this is the correct page for this but I will ask anyways. I currently have a decent sized balcony garden that I want to keep watered while on vacation. After researching online I found you can place one end of a string in a bucket of water and one end in the dirt by the plant roots and the plant will draw water as needed. This is the best solution because my balcony has no hose outlets. I will also wrap the exposed line in plastic wrap to prevent evaporation on hot days. I experiment a bit and it works well. I notice that some plants draw out a lot of water, sometimes a jar full is empty by the end of a day. I am considering using buckets but I worry about that attracting bugs and also evaporating over time. I want to find something that will keep out bugs, not evaporate, and also have easy access to refill. Does anyone have any ideas?

so at the end of this year I'm finally going to buy myself a VR-Headset.
The dream, of course, would be the index, but that is just way out of my budget, so I'm looking for the best there is with a smaller budget.
A week ago, I decided that the Meta Quest 2 would be a good choice. Now I heard the Quest 3 will be released this year and maybe I could just switch to the newer model. With the price of 500/550€ (or so i heard) it's exactly in my budget.
Now I still have a couple of questions about the device(s) and maybe the answers will help me decide.
First of all, I understand that the Quest 2 (and probably 3) can be used as a standalone headset. The thing is, that is Something i don't care about at all. I have a pretty decent PC I would play every game via PC. So, maybe there is a better alternative, like a VR Headset that is "PC only"?
Second Point, the games. I'm still not quite sure if there are PCVR Games that can maybe only be played with a specifc headset. I guess that most games, or at least every VR Game I can buy via Steam, can somehow be used with every headset? I'm interestes in Half-Lyfe Alyx and Resident Evil 4 VR. I think RE4VR is officialy Quest exclusive. But I'm pretty sure there are already some VR Mods for the "normal" game. But i would obviously prefer the VR Game with the VR specifc controls.
This brings me to the last part: the controllers. As far as I know, the Index Controllers are still (?) the best on the market. I really love the idea that you can basically control every finger with it - at leasts thats what I saw in some older videos. How advanced are the current (Quest) Controllers? Is it the same? Are there great alternatives? I still think the Index Controllers alone a really pricey. I think with most of the games I can live with a simpler tracking. But maybe can Upgrade later on. I believe that especially Alex lets you do almost anything with the right controller.
Of course, the general technical aspect of the headset ist important too. But I guess that the Quest 3 will be worth its money on that aspect. I tried the first Oculus when it was released (played super hot, loved that) and the first PSVR (Resident Evil Village VR). The graphics were, well, okay. The PSVR was way more limited because of the console and I'm pretty sure the Meta Quest 2 and the first Oculus are as different as they can be.
I know there are a lot of different headsets. When the Quest 3 is released I would probably use a service to rent it. Currently they also offer the Vive Pro 2 (with Controller and everything, but it seems like an overkill for me. I dont even have that much space), Vive Cosmos Elite and HP Reverb G2. But I have honestly no idea if these are newer or older models.
