2023.03.30 02:03 dreamweaver7146 Fantasy & Fandom Search!

Hello there!
I think it's finally time to take on a few more roleplays, and so I come searching for partners! I am mostly interested in fantasy and fandom roleplays (as you may have guessed), and am currently looking for a few partners to start up roleplays with! If any of my ideas interest you, please PM me.
Please be 18 or over, I feel uncomfortable roleplaying with anything younger. Now onto the fun stuff!

About Me

Fandoms!

Here are some of the fandoms I am interested in! The more *'s beside a fandom, the more I want to currently do something in that realm. Don't be worried if a fandom doesn't have many *'s beside it, I am still always open to discussing anything in my list!
World of Warcraft ******** - With Dragonflights release I've gotten really into WoW again. Lots of OCs to choose from, and I can make new ones! I am also available to play in game.
Dungeons & Dragons ***** - I have many OCs for D&D, and have a big love for tiefling partners! I am really itching to do something in the Spelljammer setting. Magic and space battles? Yes please.
Avatar: The Last AirbendeLegend of Korra **** - Really feeling this setting now, especially with a D&D ruleset on the way for it. Would very much prefer to play a firebender against a waterbender, perhaps during the 100 year war.
Mass Effect (Craving Tali x Shepard) *** - Just beat the game again and am definitely feeling some quarian romance. Would probably be up for playing Femshep as well.

Original Pairings!

These pairings are just generic fantasy things, but could easily be done in the Dungeons & Dragons or World of Warcraft universes! Or we can simply make our own setting, I'm fine with anything. However I would like any setting I play in to be High Fantasy, meaning magic everywhere. As usual, the more *'s beside a pairing, the more I want to do that particular one. The role I would prefer is in bold, or both are bolded if I don't care. Feel free to bring your ideas to me! The worst that will happen is I say no!
Dragon x Dragon ****** - I already have an OC made up for this named Ignirilexa, she is a fierce and combative red dragoness. She has artwork for her dragon form. Would love a softer dragon partner to help tame her wild side!
Paladin x Tiefling *****
Demon x Summoner - Not interested at the moment
Dragon x Dragon Rider - Not interested at the moment
Angel x Demon - Not interested at the moment

Thanks for reading, and chat with me if you're interested!

2023.03.29 22:57 Extension_Switch_823 Adventuring sucks

Sleep haunted Mavin with scenes of the battle, replayed and remixed over and over. How missteps could have lead to falling or more destruction.
As vivid as the visions were they lacked in detail. Cries of falling harpies and their sudden stop were as halting as ever but there was no sense to be made of the background noise. Siege cannons boomed all around as ranks of fire imps fled behind berms raised by their stoneshark cousins, bees and lesser phoenix clashing and dueling with wasps and bees all around.
Stepping too close had him shot with stingers or munched by wasp mandibles, or worse, his torso crushed under a rock almost as big around and long flying at near arrow speeds. And if he hung too far back the thundercrack of a ballista would deafen him for a few moments.
Snaps of pearlescent feathers downed bee after bee on both sides as the smaller ones were chased after by arrowheads sailing on fire from the trenches. Retaliation from the two coherent bastions of siege cannons left large craters and shot up vast plumes.
In the midst of it all was a looming fractal shape that rained a fire of prisms and lightning into the air around it. Its only fanfare the crackle of flames, thumping of dead insects on the ground and startled chirps of dragon hunters in pain.
The nether spirit didn't care what it shot its spectral fire at as long as it died, the smog bats up in the sky were only safe for the fact that more things were close to the ground.
As the air cleared of consistent hazards the shaman and fire imps lobbed their various projectiles out tward the two small forts of golems. It was all the treeants could do to keep the stoneshark imps away while the angel brambles kept them alive.
Then on some unknown signal the bats and remaining harpies doves in from the top and all the imps charged in one mass. They could dodge one or two shots but there were many more guns, though by now minotaurs were reliably stunning them.
The charge would have been overwhelming if the angel glassray hadn't gone down and taken half the trench with it, leaving the last push far more handle able then Mavin felt comfortable with. His adversary felt largely the same, sweeping in with shapeless elementals and large beasts infront.
Mavin didn't need help with them as the nether spirit descended and dispersed the whole formation.
The imps would easily handle themselves in the fight thanks to Mavin's support spell displacing most of the damage hitting them. Sure he rode a delicate balance including more or less of them in it to keep the damage at pace with his healing but they weren't normally tanky enough to bring him down with them. A good trait for something as reckless and aggressive with his build.
When the other adventurer showed his face with a berserker hammer build the fight was already over. Mavin had been holding a smite for the whole battle, gaining damage as he took damage, which was displaced to him from his summons. His many, aggressive summons.
An eldritch blast through the smoke and fog severed him from command and confirmed where exactly he stood. The smite left a fan of trenches dug into the ground behind where the other man once stood.
Then things began to replay and mix.
Swinging his longsword through swarming bees as he struggled through paralyzing stings, imps still fighting the final frantic fight in the burning bastions.
Hiding from the blazes of the nether spirit in the river as the imps apparently got another defensive buff from being on fire. The fire shaman though, they relied on displacing the damage from suffocating onto me to handle with my healing spell, letting the area of effect heal their burns and stings before heading back out.
By the time the dream resolved he was smelling the corn patties and mushroom soup. And feeling the excessive moisture around.
Fortunately, healing heals self damage and noone else cares about the cleansing prismatic fire of bonk.

2023.03.29 20:09 hittusup Search nodes function needs to be fixed

Search nodes function needs to be fixed
Maybe this has already been asked, but I find it very frustrating that when I use the 'Search Nodes...' function that it doesn't actually highlight which skill has a node matching the keyword. I've had to type a keyword, click onto a skill, look thoroughly for a glowing white border, click back, RETYPE THE KEYWORD, click the next skill, look for flashing white border, click back, etc... so many times now that I've decided to make this post. This can't be the way it's supposed to work.
For example, right now I'm trying to sustain rage. I read that I should be investing in invigoration and frenzied strikes. I'm a noob. I don't remember the name of every node. How come searching for invigoration isn't highlighting the Werebear form?
https://preview.redd.it/l4cxy92jvpqa1.png?width=844&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7bb53706b4e363fc21983710855a575cec1aa64
Another instance...if I want to find skills that convert to cold, I should be able to type cold and it should highlight skills that have nodes that mention cold. Right now it seems like it's searching skill description, not nodes.
Will this be fixed or is this working as intended? If it's working as intended...why?

2023.03.29 12:09 Flutter_Mane Shamanism can be awesome Jagex - but tread carefully!

Having listened to Jagex's pitches for the three skills, like many, my interest was piqued most by Shamanism from the original video. After listening to the long-form discussion last night it was dampened somewhat, which is why I think it is important to consider what parts are good and bad.
The good
I think the interaction between natural and spiritual elements sounds cool. The presence of the Spirit Realm is intriguing. And a skill to augment other skills is welcome, if done correctly.
The okay
I know gathering skills aren't for everyone, but to me gathering feels like RuneScape at its core and I am completely fine with it. I am not sold on the completely untradeable element of it, however. My preferred path would probably be for the skill to involve collecting natural ingredients (buyable -- this could also utilise all those unused hunter items). As well as spiritual components (from the spirit realm - untradeable). I like that this could bring life to a lot of existing elements and areas of Runescape that are extremely overlooked presently (e.g. anything Hunter other than birdhouses/herbi/chins).
What would go wrong and how I would avoid it
A lot of people have gotten the feeling that this feels a bit too much like RS3 Summoning and collecting charms to train and use the skill. I also heard talk about applying oils and making tons of consumables to use in other skills. These are the elements that will make the skill extremely unappealing.
I really think Jagex should completely divorce how you train this skill from what you use this skill for. I don't mind a ton of gathering weird ingredients and processing them to train the skill, giving me shaman orbs which I can trade for XP or rewards (or whatever system Jagex wants to go with). What I don't want is to be collecting these ingredients to make totems or oils to be spamming before every boss or chopping every tree. Less consumables, more upgrades.
The other thing that could go wrong is backloading all the potent rewards at high levels of Shamanism. If the meta for training other skills becomes "have this reward from high shamanism to efficiently train it", the skill will be a monumental failure. RS3 has a ludicrous amount of small buffs you need to upkeep which can be overwhelming. OSRS has done a great job of minimising this - please keep it that way!
If there is a perk to add to your axe to have a 10% chance of chopping one tick faster, make it available at an easily accessible Shamanism level. Reserve the high level shamanism rewards for luxury endgame upgrades, not meta training methods.
Perks aren't a bad thing
This is more aimed at the community than Jagex, but I think a lot of people are making the connection that "perks" = "invention" = "rs3" = "bad. I think Invention is one of the few aspects of RS3 that is cool, but you don't even need to be drawing the RS3 comparison here. Augmenting gear is a thing in 95% of games with gear systems.
The reason augmenting gear is good, is that it constitutes another form of horizontal progression. Releasing new gear will just invalidate older gear, and Jagex is running thin on ways to create weapons or armor with niche usage without stepping on the toes of existing gear. Perks are a way to give minor power creep without needing to release new gear - this is a good thing!
Perks also open up ways to buff skilling - not just combat. For example, imagine there is a perk you could add to your tinderbox that gave 30% more points but no xp when used at Wintertodt. This would be an awesome reward for pet hunters with 99 firemaking, but not something that people training firemaking would feel pressured to get before touching the skill.
The name
Shamanism is a bit of a mouthful and while I don't hate it, I'm not opposed to it getting a catchier name. Thematically though I think the skill has enormous potential and I would love to see both it and Sailing added to the game if done properly.

Anyway these are just my thoughts on the skill as I realised there is a fine line between what would make me love and what would make me hate this skill. Good luck Jagex and looking forward to hearing more about the skills in the future - keep it up!

2023.03.29 09:35 LaffingWasTaken Leaguestarting Raider - need a build sugestion.

Hello ethical players. After a few days of looking around and trying my own ideas for a leaguestart chars. I've found nothing that really works for me. So I decided to go for raider and transition to PF when I get an idea what I wanna sink currency into.
This league I started late and ended rerolling A LOT of builds and none have stuck with me and I didn't do much with any of them. Tried starting FP/Ice Spear totems didnt even get to maps. Rolled an Occultist for Arakaalis Fang and got bored because constant resummoning felt clunky. Then went for RF jugg, hit 90 rerolled him into a Summon Reaper to try delving but as I'm not used to the playstyle and lacked 200div to make it worth it I rerolled him again into a Boneshatter. Problem with that is that it's melee and bosses like the Fire Fury that casts Firestorm makes melee builds feel awful unless you can explode them, which I cant.
So other than not being able to find a build that ticks my boxes I have no experience with Ranger as a class. I need something that can clear and kill map bosses on the atlas since I rush it through Kirac as soon as I hit maps. Other than that I might try the endless heist strat before going to maps as I saw people do that and it seems pretty bigbrain on a leaguestart. The only builds I'd like to avoid is Poisonous Concoction and anything true melee. Also if anywone would be down to duo trough acts when league starts hmu.
edit: got a few ideas. Thanks everyone. Gonna try running a few in standard tomorrow and see whats what. Also if anyone has something else drop it with a pob <3

2023.03.29 05:00 Mountain-War-1163 Well thought-out opinion on tier 2 heroes in Slice & Dice

After playing hundreds of games, here is my opinion on tier 2 heroes in Slice & Dice
Trapper: An upgraded version of Scoundrel, who is a very good tier 1 orange, but the sides with vulnerable are still 1 pip, just have more sides, making them not a very useful tier 2 orange.
Ranger: Really strong, all sides have ranged which can avoid on-hit passives and hit back-row enemies directly, not to mention left side is pretty much 4 damage.
Juggler: Really bad hero, cantrip damage is not great since they are spread out, cancelling engage damage sides, not to mention their vulnerability to enemies with spiky passive. Not recommended tier 2 orange.
Rogue: Decent tier 2, cantrip is a downside (explained above) but other sides are good to make up for it. Poison is extremely strong since even though it is only 1 damage on turn 1, it can deal 4-5 throughout the fight.
Dabbler: Solid orange, Heal 4 is a downgrade from Dabble but other sides have higher to make up for it.
Spellblade: Also a bad hero, all sides are only 1 pip, thus the spell is useless because you have to spend 1 mana just to get +1 pip on damage side, making it very inefficient to cast.
Ninja: Very situational orange, great if you Collector to copy keywords, but is very bad otherwise because they are no more than 1 damage dealer which is what a tier 1 hero does.
Gambler: Same problem with Thief, 3 blanks make them a coin flip hero but 5 damage sides are really good to make it for it so they are a solid tier 2 hero.
Berserker: Worst tier 2 yellow, same problem with Cultist and Fiend (Pain sides are so bad, these heroes need serious buff on other sides to be usable). Having basically 4 blanks and left and middle side being mediocre make them an avoid-at-all-cost hero.
Brute: Even though the 2 damage self-shield sides are great for both offensive and defensive, other sides aren’t good enough to make up for it. 3 damage but Heavy is a huge hinderance (A 3 damage side is just mediocre for a tier 2 yellow, why need to have Heavy on it?). Stun side is not useful either because you waste a turn not attacking enemies.
Soldier: An upgraded version of Fighter, sides are decent but 6 hp is terrible for a tier 2 hero. Buff suggestion: HP 6 -> 9.
Gladiator: Very strong hero, 2 damage engage is basically 4 damage (if you don’t have Juggler or Rogue), 2 damage self-shield is strong, basically a reliable damage dealer.
Scrapper: Decent tier 2 yellow, but the Steel sides rely on shield to work, which means you will have to spend shield on steel side instead of shielding the hero that is in danger.
Collector: Best tier 2 yellow, each sides has their own purpose to fight enemies as effectively as possible, not to mention no blanks is very great for consistency.
Whirl: Also a solid yellow, the damage sides are basically 3+ damage, and they go really nicely with heroes that boost sides such as Enchanter or Fey.
Sinew: Second best yellow, 4 damage is great with the downside being exerted next turn which is why they are powerful if you can defend them on the turn that they are exerted. Left side is also powerful and shield sides are really handy to have.
Warden: Powerful grey, lots of shield sides for defending, 2 damage sides are also decent for a grey.
Armorer: Not a very good grey, 3 damage but Heavy is a huge downside, Shield 1 cleave is also not good against single-target attacks, and Shield 1 smith is only situationally useful (e.g. with Whirl or Trapper). Buff suggestion: Shield 1 cleave -> Shield 2 cleave; Shield 1 smith -> Shield 2 smith
Knight: Also powerful grey, an alternative version of Warden.
Monk: Really good grey, Redirect sides and self-shield 3 is great for defensive play and Shield 2 cleanse is very great for reducing negative effects that the enemies have inflicted. Ability to cleanse poison can prevent a lot of damage on your team.
Bard: Decent grey, Shield 1 to all is good against Area of effect attacks, Gain 1 reroll is nice for consistency, Shield 2 charged is good if you have good heroes to generate mana such as Evoker. The 2 mana is nice but single-use makes it so much worse. Buff suggestion: +2 mana single-use -> +2 mana
Statue: Terrible grey, useless without items, and they aren’t many items that work with Statue. You basically only have 4 heroes if you choose Statue. Buff suggestion: Give statue some real sides.
Cleric: Very powerful tier 2, Heal and shield 2 is very valuable for a grey and Shield 2 cleanse is essential for surviving.
Guardian: A solid grey, shield 2 engage is basically shield 4 if you can fully heal your heroes with a good red hero. Shield 2 cleave is also powerful for prevent cleave attacks.
Herbalist: Great tier 2 red, Heal 1 regen is very good for surviving fights (Basically a 4-5 heal overall), 2 mana sides is also decently good. Spell is not very good since Burst exists and it is not more efficient than Burst.
Druid: Powerful red, Heal 2 cleanse is great to have (Same reason as Shield 2 cleanse). 2 damage growth and Shield 2 growth can increase in pip very fast, making them very powerful after a few turns. Spell is also good, 3 mana to deal 1 damage to all enemies and heal 1 to all allies is very efficient to cast.
Vampire: Solid tier 2, 2 damage self-heal is great for attacking and surviving, middle side has a downside but is worth to use to grant allies more hp, and Heal 5 has insane value for survival. Spell is also good as heal 2 to all allies for 3 mana is really worth to cast.
Fey: Terrible red, aside from the boost side being useful for a small number of heroes. All sides are 1 pip, and very minimal healing, not to mention being 5 hp making them much worse than other other reds. Weaken is good against summon sides and Area of effect attacks but terrible otherwise. Spell is decent for defending. Buff suggestion: 1 damage weaken -> 2 damage weaken, Heal 1 boost -> Heal 2 boost, HP: 5 -> 7
Disciple: Also a solid red, Heal 2 double-use is basically a Heal 4, 2 mana is good and Revive top-most hero is overpowered. Spell is also good if you happen to low roll into blanks.
Medic: Best tier 2 red, all sides are too good for surviving, spell is great if your heroes at at low hp. Overall a hero that other reds should be.
Priestess: Also similar power as Medic, but the spell is worse since it requires heroes to be dying and it is not very efficient to cast.
Enchanter: Decent red, but some sides are slightly underpowered. Left and 2 right sides are a bit weak, and not great for defensive play. Buff suggestion: Heal and shield 1 mana-gain -> Heal and shield 2 mana-gain, Heal 1 boost -> Heal 2 boost, Heal 1 cleanse -> Heal 2 cleanse.
Sparky. Decent blue if you have a red that generate mana. 2 damage mana-gain is great to have as it is basically 2 damage and 2 mana. Spell is also very good to deal with Slates.
Fiend: No doubt the worst tier 2 blue, same problem as Cultist. Spell also hurt your own team, but this time, it hurts all heroes, making them even worse than Cultist’s spell. Also an avoid-at-all-cost hero.
Seer: A hero that would be powerful if not for the fact that middle column sides are single-use. 1 mana growth is valuable for long fights. Spell is great as it is basically multiplying mana.
Caldera: Decent hero, left side is bad with single-use but other sides are decent. 1 damage mana-gain is underwhelming for a tier 2 hero. Spell is good only if you have other heroes that can deal damage to multiple enemies such as Ranger or Whirl.
Evoker: Good mana gen, but 3 blanks is a huge downside. Spell is not good since you can’t target the enemy you want to kill. Buff suggestion: Right and rightmost sides become +2 mana.
Myco: A good hero, mana sides have decay is terrible but top and bottom sides have growth to make up for it, and revive top-most is overpowered. Spell is terribly inefficient because not only do you have to spend 1 mana just for +1 pip, it also inflict decay keyword which makes that side much worse later in the fight.
Glacia: Second worst blue, all sides are underwhelming (They look like tier 1 blue sides), spell is also terrible because it is 2 mana just to weaken 2, thus it is single-cast so this hero doesn’t even have a spell after turn 1. Buff suggestion: All sides become 2 pip.
Jester: Decent blue, 3 mana is very good mana gen, gain 1 reroll cantrip is good for consistency, and dodge all enemy attacks is also good. The downside being 1 mana single-use is really bad for a tier 2 hero. Spell would be good if it doesn’t have cooldown. Buff suggestion: +1 mana single-use -> +1 mana, remove cooldown from spell.
I will give my opinion on tier 3 heroes in later post.

Barrels are summoned objects, that have 3 health point, with the negative abbility of losing 1 hp in a interval if having more than one, and the positive abbility of dealing instantaneous circular area damage and applying slow in the same area, whenever gangplank destroys them (reduce its hp to 0) this abbility is 3rd order as can scale its damage and effects by being destroyed with gangplank Q, also scales with AD.
Kassadin E active: Kassadin is a truncated cone like area magic damaging abbility that also slows. This abbility seeing simple have a very complex conditional. This conditional interacts with a somewhat charge that is capped. This conditional can only be triggered by reaching the charge capped, and is charged by 1 point whenever a ability is casted neat kassadin, so this conditional end being a 4th order conditional.
Shyvana's passive: Shyvana deals more damage to dragons, this is a epic monster target component of the passive that buff shyvana's damage. The other part is a buff over shyvana's resistances with a achievement conditional of killing a the dragon an epic monster.
Draven's passive: draven's gold giving passive have a kind of particular charge, that when draven's killed (event) reduce to 25% percent of total charges and can scale infinitely. When draven kills an enemy (an event) charges are consumed giving gold in return depending of the number of charges consumed.
Ksante's ULT: K'sante Ult have a strange payback, it halves K'sante's max health. That means this payback have the condition of acctivating only when K'sante's health is over the half or you can say that it debuff temporarily K'sante's max hp stat.
Conqueror: Rune's and spells are also some kind of abbility. Conqueror buff players giving them omnivamp whenever assesting and abbility or auto attack, increasing charges depending of characters typing (range, melee) and activating a bigger buff when reaching max charges. As you can imagine Conqueror is a 4th order abbility.
Flash: Instantaneous blink with range but not fix distance.
Exhaust: soft CC that debuffs target attack speed, adaptable damage and movement speed.
This is all, thanks for reading to this point and hoping to see what you think about this.

SGR: Cutscene 3, 4, & 5, ???, & Cutscene 6
AO3 Link

Scene 03: The White Space
The scene starts off similarly to the actual game, where it’s a POV shot of someone waking up in a white void with nothing in it. And then, it cuts to a shot showing Modern Sonic waking up and getting onto his feet, groaning and rubbing his head for a moment.
Sonic: “Uuggghh…that was NOT the kind of birthday surprise I like…”
Sonic: “Wait…where am I…?”
Confused and worried, Sonic looks around and calls out for his friends, with only the echoes of his footsteps being heard and nothing as far as the eye can see…
Sonic: “Tails? Knuckles? Anybody!?”
Sonic looks down, clearly concerned about his current predicament. With a more melancholy expression, he stares out at the vast void again…however, this time, he notices something far off in the distance…
He squints his eyes in order to get a better look, but it’s hard to tell. But with no better ideas on where to start, Sonic just runs towards it, ending the scene…

Yeah, this one was really short. There’s really not much to add on to this scene here. But the next scene has more to it. Though, there’s a short gameplay sequence in-between.
Similar to what happens before Green Hill Act 2, you get to play as Modern Sonic in the empty White Space, and run towards the faraway object. There’s invisible walls on the side, and behind at the start, so that the player won’t fall off the path, and Modern Sonic has all his abilities here. Including an unlimited boost. So, it won’t take too long before you get close, where the next scene plays…

Scene 04: A Trip To South Island
Sonic arrives at the object, and finally gets a good look at it. That’s when he finds out what it is…a strange, futuristic clocktower…however, it looks incredibly damaged and beyond repair, complete with many parts of it down on the ground. Plus, there’s many symbols on it, likely some kind of ancient language.
This ugears clocktower is just a placeholder.
With a curious expression, Sonic scans the clocktower, moving around it to get a better look at everything.
Sonic: “Huh…I’ve seen my fair share of clock towers, but this one is definitely different…”
Sonic: “Though, it could certainly use some refurbishing…”
Getting closer, the hedgehog puts his hand onto the symbols of the tower, moving some of the dust off of it, and also blowing it off his glove.
Sonic: “Man…I could REALLY use Tails’ help here…or even Knuckles or Rouge…”
Sonic: “Better yet, maybe they could figure a way out of this place?”
For a moment, Sonic has an irritated expression, feeling he’s reached a dead end here. However…something catches his attention on the ground…a cyan glow beneath a piece of the tower…curious, he kneels down to move it, and finds a glowing clock hand…
Imagine one of these designs is the clock hand.
Sonic: “Hm…”
Grabbing the clock hand, Sonic inspects it, intrigued.
Sonic: “Maybe THIS is the answer?”
Taking a moment to ponder what this thing does, the hedgehog decides to point it forward, confidently. However…nothing really happens…which leaves Sonic scratching his head.
Sonic: “Okay…guess it’s not gonna be that easy…”
Sonic: “How about something like…?”
Sonic: “...Take me to Green Hill?”
Without warning, the clock hand suddenly starts to pulsate with cyan energy, catching Sonic off-guard as a shot of the energy fires off from the pointy end.
Sonic: “AH!”
This causes Sonic to drop the clock hand, which seems to be drained and no longer glowing. And as for the energy shot, it lands near the right side of the clocktower, where a big cyan clock symbol appears on the ground. The hedgehog looks on in intrigue.
Out of the clock symbol comes what appears to be some sort of ghost-white structure resembling Green Hill. After a couple more seconds, where the area has fully formed, the clock symbol and cyan glow fades away, leaving Sonic surprised.
https://preview.redd.it/sv31lhdu7jqa1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4c568457678a016ce2c4f354648f8e757d5c7d8
Sonic: “Woah…”
Turning his attention back to the clock hand on the ground, Sonic grabs it, though is clearly a bit more cautious than before. After another moment of inspection, the hedgehog looks back at the Green Hill entrance, with a smirk on his face.
Sonic: “Heh! I may not get the full picture here, but I won’t complain about having a chance to escape this…white space for a while!”
Sonic: “Especially when it’s one of my favorite spots!”
Sonic: “Not to mention, I need to find my friends too. And figure out what’s going on.”
Sonic: “So…I guess another adventure awaits!”
With an upbeat demeanor, Sonic heads off towards the Green Hill entrance with the clock hand, as the scene ends…

While it's not really necessary here, I would like to cover the changes made here!
First of all, what’s the deal with this clocktower? And the clock hand too? Well…remember how the Time Eater was kinda just…there for Eggman to get his hands on? And how it’s never explained exactly what it is, or how it came to be? Well, this time, there’s gonna be some LORE to explain it!
And yeah, not everything needs to be explained in a story, but I feel if it’s going to be important, then I’m gonna make an explanation for it. Makes things more interesting.
Next, why not just have the Green Hill entrance right there at the start, like originally? Again, I’d like to change things up in order to have some sort of explanation here. Sure, it’s not necessary, but I’ll go ahead with it anyway. See, White Space is supposed to consist of areas torn from time and space by the Time Eater, right? And these areas are all places and events from Sonic’s memories, correct? Well, here’s my idea here.
What if Sonic had to summon specific areas from his history in order to find what he needs? Like he HAS to go through these areas because that’s the only way he can find one of his friends, or the Chaos Emeralds? Instead of just having everything set up in a line for his convenience like in the actual game? That may not be necessary, but I feel it makes it a little more interesting. Like the heroes actually have to do the work themselves.
Anyways! After that scene, the player gets to go to Green Hill Act 2! And I’ve already talked about it in the last post, so let’s get to the scene that plays after completing the level!

Scene 05: Back For More
https://preview.redd.it/ezqacn3v8jqa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26864fa691549b5a01934b31fbcadacd7bd5ff1f
In the high hills and mountains of Green Hill, we see Classic Sonic speeding around a bit, only to stop for a moment, looking pretty annoyed.
Sonic: “Ugh! This is so annoying!”
Sonic: “Not only is the rest of the island being blocked off with some weird invisible walls, along with the Tornado disappearing, but I can’t find ANYTHING!”
Sonic: “Usually, I can always find trouble the minute it happens, but apparently, that isn’t gonna be the case today!”
Sonic: “Sigh…”
Sonic holds onto his head, agitated.
Sonic: “Maybe if I’m lucky, the trouble will just come to me instead?”
After saying this, one of his ears wiggle a bit, hearing what sounds like something getting smashed from above. So, Sonic looks up curiously, only to find that some big totem-pole (Which seems to have some sort of circular dent left in it, despite being broken in half) about to fall down on him. Panicked, the young hedgehog quickly leaps out of the way as the debris crashes onto the ground.
As Sonic gets up, he notices something flying down towards him, and while annoyed, he’s also a little pleased, now that he’s found someone he thinks will give him the answers he wants. After all…he’s no stranger to causing trouble…

https://preview.redd.it/qyp1bsn59jqa1.jpg?width=841&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6a02a01d0fdd9258588f793ba7f27115c809200
Robotnik: “Hahahahaha! If it isn’t Sonic!”
Robotnik: “Honestly, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that gift I sent your way!”
Sonic: “Heh! I’m flattered, but I’m not a fan of damaged goods! Or getting crushed!”
Sonic: “But if you want to give me something, you can start by telling me why you’re here, and what you’re doing!”
Robotnik: “Oh, nothing too special, I’d say. Just picked up some strange energy signature from my base, and decided to investigate!”
Sonic: “Please! If you think I’m gonna buy that, you must think I’m as gullible as Knuckles!”
Sonic: “Besides, I seem to recall that it’s YOUR badniks I’ve been dealing with since that weird shadow beast showed up!”
Robotnik: “Shadow beast? Using MY own creations? The nerve…”
Robotnik: “Still, if you think you’ll get ANY sort of answer from me, think again rodent!”
Sonic: “Ugh. Of course you’re not gonna spill the beans.”
Sonic: “Then again, I’d be surprised if you DID know something, considering your track record!”
Robotnik: “Excuse me? Are you trying to imply something here? Have you forgotten who you’re talking to?”
Sonic: “Oh, not at all! I’m talking to the guy who gets his butt kicked by me on a daily basis!”
Sonic: “If you really were a genius, you should have won at some point!”
Robotnik: “Rrrgghhh…! You seriously think I’ll keep losing to you after all this time!? Preposterous!”
Robotnik: “I’m ALWAYS coming up with new inventions and plans! And I’ll execute them when the time is right!”
Sonic: “Really? Got anything in mind, doc?”
Robotnik: “Most certainly! Like THIS!”
Pressing a button on his console, an irritated Robotnik releases a chained wrecking ball with a checker-board pattern on it, which Sonic seems to have a nostalgic look at.
Art made by Advert-man on DeviantArt.
Sonic: “Heh. Using the old ball-and-chain strategy again?”
Robotnik: “What can I say? An oldie, but a goodie!”
Robotnik: “Besides, sometimes the most effective strategy is the most simple!”
Sonic: “Right. And what makes you think it’ll work this time?”
Robotnik: “You’ll come to find I have more in store for this one!”
Robotnik: “And by the time we’re done, you’ll end up as blue jelly!”
Sonic: “Blue jelly? Heh! Alright then! Let’s jam!”
The two adversaries stare each other down, as the scene ends and the Egg Wrecker boss fight begins…

This was a fun one to write about. Having Sonic and Eggman banter is like comfort food, in some weird way. I don’t have anything to really say about this scene, since…well…we gotta focus on one of the big additions here!

EGG WRECKER (SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 1991)
Instead of there being one rival and boss battle for each era, I’m taking inspiration from JebTube’s “The Timeline Where Sonic Succeeds” video, and having one boss fight for each level in this game. Not only to extend game time, but also to write about some fun ideas and what-not. Plus, it kinda follows a similar structure to games like Sonic Advance 2, with two acts for a level, and then a boss fight. I find it pretty nice, and my preferred way of handling gameplay here.
While we’re at it, in White Space, the bosses don’t have those generic gates locked by mission keys. Instead, they have little areas similar to the levels, complete with either the boss themself or some sort of informant there to talk with, and bring up hints and information that’s important to the boss or area the boss takes place in. Here’s an example:
This art was made by me.
The boss areas are also next to their respective stages, too.
Also, when it comes to Chaos Emeralds being obtained, there won’t be any special stages. I COULD include them, but I feel that’s not necessary. Instead, some of the bosses would have an Emerald on hand, and like in the original Generations, you’d have to beat them in order to collect it. Beat all of them, and you got all seven. Easy as that.
Now, let’s actually talk about this boss! Obviously, being the first ever Sonic boss fight, it gets to be included here, and as the first boss in this rewrite as well, it’s not too difficult. It’s mainly a throwback boss.
The first phase would be similar to the original fight, where Eggman just swings the ball around and Sonic has to jump onto two platforms on either side in order to get a hit in. However, after about 5 hits, Eggman gets angry and Phase 2 would begin.
Yeah, pretty much every boss here has multiple phases, in order to make it more tough and to add more to the fight overall. And for this fight’s second phase, Eggman starts swinging the wrecking ball around in more wild and dangerous ways, like in Sonic 4: Episode 1.
Plus, he’ll sometimes go into the background in order to destroy some terrain, and have it fall down on you, which you’ll have to dodge, and also send in some badniks in order to distract you so that Eggman can get more hits in. Though, his attacks can also damage his own robots as well.
But after 3 more hits, Eggman is defeated, the ending cutscene plays (By the way, these are skippable now), and the results screen is shown. Simple, but effective. Now, let’s get to the scene after this fight!

Cutscene 06: Like Looking In A Mirror…
https://preview.redd.it/54dhs1k1ajqa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce64c492d550beb2bc850fef0416c70759b5d4e2
In the same Green Hill area as the last scene, Classic Sonic stands triumphant among a bunch of busted badnik parts, and the broken ball and chain. As for Robotnik, he’s pretty bruised, and his Egg Mobile’s plenty damaged, letting off some smoke. He’s very irritated and trying to fix the controls, while his machine wobbles a bit in the air.
Classic Sonic: “Like I said, Eggman! If it didn’t work before, it wasn’t gonna work now!”
Classic Sonic: “So then? Ready to call it quits early this time?”
Robotnik: “NEVER! I refuse to give in to some annoying blue rat!”
Though Classic Sonic seems annoyed by that rat comment, he quickly gains his focus as Robotnik attempts to flee. However, his Egg Mobile keeps bumping into nearby structures, with one of the damaged totem-poles accidentally falling off the high area the two adversaries were fighting on.
And way below that area, Modern Sonic is going around, looking for some kind of clue or commotion.
Modern Sonic: “Okay, judging by the different scrapped badniks around here, and what those little animals tried to tell me, someone is definitely causing a ruckus.”
Modern Sonic: “And I definitely heard something…?”
As he looks up above, he notices the falling totem-pole coming down, and easily zips out of the way as it’s about to crash onto the ground. Curiously, he moves his gaze back up, and notices a familiar, smoking object flying off in the sky, which occasionally bumps into a few structures. Immediately, he can figure out who it might be.
Modern Sonic: “Eggman!”
Laser-focused, Modern Sonic zips ahead in a deep blue streak across the landscape to chase Robotnik, while another, light blue streak does the same nearby. This then leads to a sequence where we see the two Sonic’s traversing the many structures and environment, with their own skills, tricks, and acrobatics. It shows off Classic Sonic’s more showy, but inexperienced style, and Modern Sonic’s confident and experienced style.

https://i.redd.it/q951xqdyajqa1.gif

https://i.redd.it/d1xpn0bzajqa1.gif
Eventually, the two versions of the same hedgehog are running down the same pathway, only being blocked by different structures and objects, like the trees, rushing waterfalls, and checkerboard hills. Plus, they’re too focused on catching Robotnik to notice anyone nearby, as they reach the end of the pathway.
Modern Sonic: “Alright…just gotta…!”
Classic Sonic: “Come on…! I’m not letting you…!”
The two Sonic’s run towards the end of the pathway, where they leap up at the same time and reach their arms out to grab onto Robotnik, still too focused on their target to notice a lookalike right next to them as they shout out…
M & C Sonic: “GOTCHA!”
The scene slows down as the two Sonic’s attempt to catch Robotnik, who looks back at them in complete surprise and shock, only to suddenly disappear in some sort of purple energy aura, leaving the two hedgehogs to grab nothing as they fall down to the ground below.
M & C Sonic: “What…!? Wait…!”
Without Robotnik to focus on, the two hedgehog’s finally notice each other and are utterly surprised and shocked.
M & C Sonic: “WHAT!?”
But before either one of them can question just what the heck is going on, they start to pay attention to the fact that they’re falling down, and focus on trying to land safely. Modern Sonic simply does a flipping motion and lands on the ground safely, while Classic Sonic has to leap across a few nearby structures before landing on the ground, looking a bit tired and confused.
Modern Sonic is also confused, but approaches his younger self, feeling some concern.
Modern Sonic: “Ummm…are you okay?”
Classic Sonic: “Yeah…! Just…give me a sec…!”
After a few seconds, Classic Sonic is able to gain his composure, and appears to be fine enough. Though, when turning his attention to his older self, he goes back to an irritated and confused expression.
Classic Sonic: “Okay! Can this day get ANY weirder!?”
Classic Sonic: “First of all! Who the heck are you!? Are you another imposter robot or something!?”
Modern Sonic: “Uh, no! Definitely not! I’m Sonic The Hedgehog!”
Classic Sonic: “Yeah, no! I’M Sonic The Hedgehog! I was here first, faker!”
Modern Sonic: “Faker? Last I checked, my eyes weren’t black, and I wasn’t half my size!”
Classic Sonic: “Well, I don’t remember putting on green contacts, or growing my hair out either!”
Classic Sonic: “And besides, even if we BOTH happened to be the same guy, there’s no way there can be TWO Sonic’s running around!”
Modern Sonic: “What about Metal Sonic?”
Classic Sonic: “He doesn’t count! The point is that one of us is the phony, and I’m pretty sure it’s not me!"
Modern Sonic: “Same he-”
Modern Sonic: “...Wait a minute…”
Classic Sonic: “What? Please finish!”
Modern Sonic: “Let me think for a second!”
Despite still being annoyed, Classic Sonic decides to do so, and in a moment, Modern Sonic speaks up.
Modern Sonic: “Okay…have you seen any giant shadow creatures with gears on them?”
When Modern Sonic asks that, Classic Sonic seems to calm down a bit, thinking before answering.
Classic Sonic: “Yeah…? One just showed up in the sky all of a sudden, did something, left, and now there’s all these badniks going around without any animals powering them.”
Modern Sonic: “And there was no one with you? Or with that thing?”
Classic Sonic: “Not in Green Hill. The rest of South Island is a mystery, since these invisible walls keep us trapped here.”
Classic Sonic: “I already searched everything I can, but I haven’t found anything or anyone out of place.”
Modern Sonic: “Darn…I was hoping at least one of my friends was here…”
Modern Sonic: “But at least now, I have an idea about what’s going on. Though, it may sound unbelievable to you.”
Classic Sonic: “Eh. I’ve already seen some unbelievable stuff, and I’ll take what I can get at this point.”
The comment makes Modern Sonic smile a bit, and he gives a nod before continuing.
Modern Sonic: “See…I think that creature is messing with time…”
Modern Sonic: “So…that would make you…?”
Classic Sonic: “...What!? Hold on a sec!”
Classic Sonic: “Are you saying that…you’re ME from the future?”
Modern Sonic: “Seems like it. And that would make you my past self.”
Modern Sonic: “Either that, or we’re dealing with alternate dimensions. Again.”
Classic Sonic: “Again?”
Modern Sonic: “Not important right now.”
Classic Sonic: “...Well, alright then.”
Classic Sonic: “I’m guessing something happened with Little Planet?”
Modern Sonic: “Personally, I don’t think that’s the case. This is different.”
Modern Sonic: “After that beast crashed my birthday party and kidnapped all my friends, I ended up in some strange white void. All that was there was this old clocktower.”
Modern Sonic: “It definitely has to be something from an ancient race, considering the language written on it.”
Classic Sonic: “Huh…so, is that thing how you got here?”
Modern Sonic: “Well, I used this clock hand that broke off from the clocktower to make an entrance to this area, so kinda.”
Reaching from behind him, Modern Sonic shows the arrowhead to Classic Sonic, who looks at it in intrigue.
Modern Sonic: “Seems like it gave me a way to travel back to your point in time.”
As Modern Sonic puts the clock hand away, Classic Sonic seems to process all this information.
Classic Sonic: “...Okay, this is a LOT to take in.”
Classic Sonic: “Also, I’d ask why you aren’t more panicked about all this, but with that alternate dimension comment, I’m starting to think I go through some crazy stuff later on.”
Modern Sonic: “Heh. They’re certainly some interesting stories.”
Modern Sonic: “But right now, what matters is finding that thing, along with my friends, and figuring out how to fix this mess.”
Modern Sonic: “After all, it could be the end of everything as we know it.”
Classic Sonic: “Right…this is definitely a lot bigger than anything I’ve dealt with so far…”
Classic Sonic: “But that doesn’t mean I should sit back when the world needs my help!”
Modern Sonic: “OUR help. We’re definitely gonna have to work together if we want to win.”
Modern Sonic: “Besides…it’ll be a lot more fun, right?”
Modern Sonic offers a hand to Classic Sonic, who seems curious, but quickly puts on his own iconic smirk, and accepts it in kind.
Classic Sonic: “Definitely! Count me in!”
The two Sonic’s smile at each other, before breaking from the handshake and discussing the next course of action.
Modern Sonic: “Alright! I think it’s best we head back to that white space and figure out what to do next!”
Classic Sonic: “Sure! Lead the way!”
Classic Sonic: “Also, while we’re working together, I gotta ask…”
Classic Sonic: “...How many more times do I beat Eggman in the future?”
Modern Sonic: “Eh. I’ve lost track at this point.”
Modern Sonic: “But trust me. He still manages to fail almost every time.”
Classic Sonic: “Ha! Thought so!”
As the two Sonic’s start to run across the Green Hills, they continue to talk with one another as the scene ends…

Whew! That was LENGTHY. But still fun to write about! Now, let’s discuss some stuff!
Number 1! We pointed out the differences in design between the two Sonic’s! That way, it’s not just that CS decided one day to get green eye contacts. Instead, the time-mess being caused by the Time Eater, alongside the energy it disperses, makes two versions of the same person look different from one another. Like it somewhat fixes the fact that they shouldn’t exist at the same time.
Number 2! Instead of meeting via some weird mirror scene (Which was admittedly pretty interesting), we got these two interacting in Green Hill, where they both started. Also, the whole “two Sonic’s jumping off a cliff at the same time” thing was inspired by the teaser trailer of the original Generations. It’s really cool.
Number 3! The characters aren’t idiots, and figure out they’re dealing with time-travel much earlier on! Seriously, Tails! You don’t need to be a genius to point out the blatantly obvious! Plus, CS having trouble processing all this information, including the future events he’ll deal with in the future, is pretty interesting, and I want to show more of his thoughts on everything.
Alright! Next post, we'll get to the next scene, and the next level!

2023.03.28 20:40 hate-zenkai Why must hydroid be neglected by D.E for years? seriously please rework him because every single ability of his including his passive suck!!!!

First, starting with his passive - it's a joke. A slam attack has a 50% chance to summon a tentacle that crowd controls the enemy and does 200 true damage per second. Those tentacles last for 15 seconds, and you can only have three of them out at a time. Not only is the damage extremely awful and doesn’t scale at all, but the crowd control part of it is also equally as bad because it makes the enemy hard to hit by swinging them around. It's one of the worst passive abilities you can ever imagine.
Now let's move on to his actual ability, Tempest Barrage. BOY, IS THIS ABILITY JUST AWFUL. It's just a barrage of water drops dropping from the sky, and the only thing it does is knock down enemies. It does impact damage and doesn't scale at all, and it's not even good at low or high levels because it's just a simply terrible ability. The knockdown is completely random and not reliable. He is a cc warframe without reliable cc.Not only that, but you need to fully charge it by holding it down to get its full range, which is ridiculous. Warframe is a fast-paced game, and that slow mechanic is outdated.
And of course, this ability has an augment that makes his first ability deal corrosive damage called Corroding Barrage and also gives him 100% ability strength (he's not a damage warframe, so it's a useless buff, by the way). Now, corrosive used to strip 100% of the enemy's armor, so his first ability was a wide-range, full armor strip. But after the nerf, corrosive only strips 80% of enemies' armor, making his armor strip one of the worst, if not the worst, out of all armor strips. And it's not even instant because you have to wait for the corrosive stacks to stack up to 10, meaning the barrage has to hit the same enemy TEN times before you get its full effect.
Speaking of outdated abilities, we have his second ability, Tidal Surge. This ability is basically Revenant's Reave with only the movement part. While Revenant's Reave does 100% percentage health damage to enemies while moving like Hydroid, Tidal Surge, however, only does the movement part and does nothing else. This awful ability somehow costs 50 energy too. Why would anyone want Revenant's Reave without the damage part? Because that's what this ability is – a complete trash. And of course, it does some impact damage that doesn't scale at all.
This ability has an augment mod called Tidal Impunity that gives you status immunity for only 12 seconds and reduces the enemy cost for this mod to make it more spammable to 15 energy from 50. Now, 12 seconds of status immunity on paper sounds amazing until you realize that there are warframes that have built-in status immunity like Nezha, Revenant, and Rhino, so he's just a much worse version of those warframes. Besides, if you want to cleanse yourself from status, the mod Rolling Guard would be so much better than this garbage of a mod.
Now onto his third ability, Undertow, aka useless puddle. Without having to say ANY positive thing about this Warframe, it's supposedly his "infinite scaling ability" because the damage will increase gradually. It's another joke of an ability that makes me laugh. It drains energy per second and does little to no damage unless you camp the same spot for minutes, and it's not interactive at all. The damage is super slow, and you can barely move while you’re in this puddle form. Of course, you can pull enemies into your puddle, but the damage is simply not worth it, and it has an augment that’s just completely useless called Curative Undertow.
Basically, it restores a percentage of your health, but what’s the point of doing that on a frame that will get one-shot at basic steel path? He is invulnerable while in his puddle form anyway, so what is that health regen going to do? It's a whole bunch of nothing.
His last ability (his best ability), Tentacle Swarm, is also trash. It’s basically another CC ability that swings enemies around and does little to no damage. It doesn’t even kill basic enemies in basic starter chart; that's how bad it is. It swings enemies around, making it even harder for you and your team to kill the enemies, and just like his first ability, you have to charge it to get its full effect.
This ability has an augment called Pilfering Swarm, which basically gives you 100% additional loot, but we have Nekros and Khora that do that infinitely more times better than this hideous frame. Such a shame that he has an amazing skin and theme just to be wasted because of his trash abilities.
Please rework hydroid instead of releasing new frames, he needs it the most. 1: he is one of the list used warframes 2: he is not good in early, mid, to late game.
Please D.E he has gotten so bad that even deleting him from the game wouldn’t impact players at all, he is that useless.

2023.03.28 20:28 SnooHobbies8472 Radagon is Marika, because she created him with Mimic Tear.

Aight hear me out, my theory is Marika is from the Eternal City and Radagon is the same person because she created him with Mimic Tears and something extra.
She's known as the "Eternal Queen" also she's a Numen

Numen's Rune

I think she used to live in the Eternal City with the rest of the Numen race as evidenced from the Bloated Ants dropping Numen Rune from feasting on dead Numens.

Bloated Ants
I think when she left she brought Mimic Tear with her and learning the secrets of mimicry, Marika might have created something similar, one that can turn someone into entirely different things the Mimic's Veil, assuming she made this herself. Maybe she's trying to figure out how to mask herself or her Mimic Tear for some purpose? Mischievous indeed.

Mimic's Veil

So before we go on about my theory as to why Radagon is Marika's Mimic Tear, we need to know what Mimic Tear is
Mimic Tear
Also note that Mimic Tear and Silver Tear are one in the same, it is a formless life as stated on a mask that dropped by the Mimic Tear boss

Silver Tear Mask

Continuing on, why Radagon doesn't look like Marika if she used the Mimic Tear to copy herself? What if Marika have fully understand how the Mimic Tear worked? To mask her Mimic Tear looking exactly like her she found a way to mold it into a shape she desires, which is a handsome male with a fabulous red hair by giving it a part of herself.
Radagon fight for the Golden Order in extension for Marika, perhaps it wants to be an Elden Lord remember Mimic Tear copies your strengths but doesn't have your will as it is an living being too.
So why bother doing this? When she established her new age, she needed trusted allies to conquer / convert every apposing faction into her rule, the Golden Order. She even married Hoarah Loux the chieftain of the Badlands later known as Godfrey after their marriage, a strong warrior to lead her army against the Fire Giants who threaten to burn the Erdtree.
With Radagon, he has a campaign in Liurnia, specifically against Raya Lucaria, led by Queen Rennala head of the Carian Royal Family, Radagon met her on the battlefield and after a stalemate (proves the Carian Royal Family could be a strong ally for the Golden Order) Radagon eventually repented his territorial aggressions by cleansing himself with Celestial Dew, and married Rennala to join forces. But this is ultimately a political move as he left her not after fathering 3 children.
How can a Mimic Tear have children? Well they are living creatures after all, having the right appendage helped I guess. *wink*
As to why Malenia inhibited by a Rot God and Miquella is cursed with eternal youth, well its kinda incest if you think about it, if we to believe Marika gave a part of herself to "Mimic Radagon". It effected them because of it in some way shape or form.
Finally, how are they the same person when you entered the Erdtree to face Marika? Well she absorbed the part of herself back and with it Radagon too, she did it because Radagon was trying to undo the shattering against her will, thus becoming whole again.
Maybe having a part of Marika an Empyrean, gave this Mimic Tear an ambition to dethrone Marika, in his desperation he didn't realize that Marika can give and take back what's hers. He left Rennala I don't think this betrayal is entirely impossible.
So why the Elden Beast release Marika from her crucifixion you might ask, well it knows Radagon was on it's side and is trying to fix the shattered Elden Ring and is in Marika's body.
So it releases her and inhibit the husk of Marika to prevent her from taking control of her body as you can see the Elden Beast's rings on Radagon.
Without the Elden Beast's rings.
It is said that long ago, the Greater Will sent a golden star bearing a beast into the Lands Between, which would later become the Elden Ring. -Elden Stars
Elden Beast inhibits Marika's body, letting the Mimic Radagon takes control.

Thats all, there will be some cracks here and there but I kinda enjoy this theory because why would Marika fight us if we are here to change the law of the world. She herself shatters the Elden Ring because the order she created without the Rune of Death is flawed and inadvertently screwed her favorite son Godwyn, who cant die properly.

2023.03.28 19:09 Fungal_Wizard PLS don't discard any of these ideas, no matter what skill gets chosen!

Taming could be a hunter expansion if it's not chosen, Shamanism can be a herblore expansion if it's not chosen, Sailing could be it's own expansion/ major content release thing if it's not chosen!
Big support for revamping skills and giving them more nuance with expansions and integrations! These ideas would be insanely fun even if they have to be dialed down a tiny bit since it's not an entire skill of it's own. There are current skills that would REALLY benefit from some more nuance!
Shamanism as a skill is interesting because it can potentially benefit from firemaking, woodcutting, crafting, prayer, herblore, hunter and magic in the creation of totems, poultices, ritual circles, creating things with animal parts, special fires, new herb uses, etc.
If you were to release that as an expansion to Herblore you would have to trim the fat quite a bit but it would undoubtedly still be enjoyable. More customization of player power is always welcome imo.
Taming could revitalize the Hunter skill, Taming a creature and leveling it up, unlocking perks as you level them up, some of which can even be acquired through boss fights or other creative encounters. If this is watered down more and added to Hunter as an expansion, even if they aren't combat-summonable creatures, it would still be interesting and well received imo. Familiars could provide small, unique bonuses to every activity ingame. Maybe leveling a terrorbird up lets you fast travel within a fixed distance on the map every X mins.
Sailing is obviously well received by many. Not releasing it as a skill, but as an expansion/ side progression/ chance to explore new content and areas, imo, would still be fantastic. There is room for naval exploration content on OSRS and new quests in that direction.

Milio Tips and Tricks: How this champ carried me to Masters
Hello! Im Pandalian10 and i recently reached Masters with this champ!. I mostly played Karma, but when Milio went live, i forced him into every game he wasn´t picked or banned. Here are some tips and tricks that helped me!
https://preview.redd.it/w9zqej8k4iqa1.jpg?width=457&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c626f54266a01765113ffd5d9b0b116598f62b8a
I previously posted the screenshot of me getting to Masters, and commented some tips, but i decided to make a different post, so it may help more people!(English is not my first language, so excuse any typos)

https://preview.redd.it/2ykxpfjq4iqa1.jpg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b455307652d07fd06784b2b4cc4acc8b44780718

Runes:

Sorcery: Aery, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Gathering Storm.
Resolve: Second Wind / Bone Plating, Revitalize
AH/AP/Armor-MR
Never, NEVER take Scorch in your runes. Milio is not a poke champion, and the value of Gathering Storm is incredibly superior. This rune gives you 24 AP at 20 minutes, and 48 at 30. 48 AP is more AP than most Support Items, just for free. Scorch just gives 15ish damage after hitting an ability, which if you are against an enchanter, it is going to be healed/shielded. Pick Second Wind if you are against poke, and bone plating if you are against hard engage / burst
Also, i don't really like cookies/time-warp. It is just a safe fuse for people who aren't good at laning phase. And Milio doesn't need them, as he is a pretty safe champion, and just the numbers of Revitalize are more useful than surviving laning phase.
https://preview.redd.it/vzl7kp8t4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=651217f2727bc98169010532539a45ddf8f5d35e

Ability Order:

For me it always have been E-W-Q.
Maxing Q first at any moment is inting, because even if the abilty gets somehow good, you are delaying W and E levels, which have vastly superior supporting abilities. Treat Milio Q as a Janna Q, Disengage/Poke, so if you are against a matchup like Tristana, you have to keep your Q up so you can cancel her jump, so you won't be spamming this ability in lane, so you won't need to max it. (I hope I made myself clear, lol)
Maxing W is tempting if you have 1- A great ADC which you know won't int. 2- A duo who you can clearly communicate to. 3- Two or more marksmen in your team.
As the healing in W is not really that great, even maxed out, you are only maxing it for the aditional range%, so it is game and team dependant.
https://preview.redd.it/n88by2wt4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=6efd7b7bcb66635cbecc39bf37f846f6ea5967d0

Build:

The only items you will buy every game are Relic Shield, Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Vigilant Wardstone
Start with Relic Shield + 2 pots. Millio just has not the poke you need to buy spellthiefs, so this is the default choice.

STOP AUTO-BUYING SHURELYAS EVERY GAME!!

Your mythic item is your first mayor decision, that, if you play correctly, HAS to be game dependant.
My rule of thumb is: If you know teamfight are going to be long, and you have tanks in both teams. Buy Moonstone Renewer. Trust me, i know that if you never built it, this may seem crazy. But Moonstone makes W´s heals actually a threat, and it increases the size of your shields notably, just for staying on fights. On the other side, if your team has plenty of ranged champs, the teamfights are going to be short as no one can really tank, or you are playing AGAINST a team of ranged champs who will be hard to reach. Buy Shurelyas.

Vigilant Wardstone is actually OP:

https://preview.redd.it/2b2kyjgv4iqa1.jpg?width=64&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea9752646b6f4a42441efb78b3777332e3b9756e
You are not going to buy it for the extra ward, you are going to buy it because, when you reach LV 13, and for only 1100 gold, it increases bonus attack damage, bonus health, ability power and ability haste by 12%. 12%!!!!!! JUST FOR 1100 GOLD, and also, IT COUNTS AS A LEGENDARY, SO YOU HAVE THE ADDED BONUS FROM YOUR MYTHIC.189% gold efficiency, plus scaling, plus extra wards, while being the CHEAPEST legendary in the game (without counting support starter items).
A must buy at level 13

The rest of items are all situational, so im gonna list them.

Ardent Censer: For many, an insta buy, but it isn't that good honestly. It gives bonus on-hit damage and AS to you and the champions affected by your shielding/healing. It is such a specific stat that you will only buy it if you have on your team 2+ champs that deal damage purely on their basic attacks. If not, there are better options
Chemtech Putrifier: After nerfs, it is just the same as an Oblivion Orb with added Heal and Shield power. You have to damage enemies for this item to work, and, honestly, i don't know if Milio´s passive counts as damage for this item. I suppose it does. Rush it against healing champs, but just stay at Oblivion Orb and finish the item later.
Dark Seal: If you have 350g to spare, buy it. This item gives potentially 40 bonus AP for 350 gold, thats insane value.
Mikael's Blessing: A great item to rush if you are against an Ashe support. It may seem useless, as Milio already has a Cleanse in his ultimate, but having potentially two cleanses in your kit is huge. The only thing is that you need to be fast and prepared for the CC, it isn't that useful if you cleanse it at the last 0.2 seconds.
Redemption: My favourite support item. In comparison to the other two popular support items, Staff of Flowing Water and Ardent Censer, Redemption has a better build path. Making it very comfortable to buy. Redemption also gives +16% heal and shield power. Buy it when your team, or the enemy team has hard engage and you need to follow it with a redemption.
Staff of Flowing Water: Its like Ardent Censer, but better, as it benefits more champs. It gives AP which makes it great if you have a mage carry, and 20 ability haste, which makes it great for literally any champ who deals damage with their abilities. In cases when you can't buy Ardent Censer, buy this item

https://preview.redd.it/inl5m9vw4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=1452e4ed07bacef88866904c3a6417f39d654a68

Laning Phase:

Milio is a really passive laner, he is one of the most, if not the most, passive enchanters in League. That is because Milio doesn't really have a strong poke in lane. He, like Janna or Renata, wants to play catch/disengage on lane. This is mostly dependant on enemy botlane.
If you are against a hard engage botlane, you DON'T wanna use your Q to poke, because the enemy will all in on you once you use your only disengage tool. Your Q is able to cancel most melee support engages: Alistar's W, Rakan's W, Leona's E, Pantheon's W, Rell's W, Amumu's Q, Taric's E. Against hook supports, you can kinda cancel them, but your adc (or you) will still be stunned: Thresh's Q2, Nautilus' Q (Pyke and Blitzcrank bring you to them, so it doesn't work). The game plan against these botlanes is playing safe, don't get hooked, and try to disengage your ADC. Wait for the enemy support to make mistakes, or to miss/waste their essential ability, and punish them.
If you are against another enchanter, it will probably be an even matchup. You can use your Q to poke, but it will probably be healed/shielded, and the same if they use their poke to your adc, you just shield them before. So we wanna take advantage of this. The game plan against these botlanes is using your Q to pop their shields/heals/buffs, and once they dissapear and the enemy enchanter has their abilites on cooldown, you just W + E to your ADC and look for a little trade. Then, rinse and repeat.
If you are against a poke/mage support, theoretically it would be a winning matchups, as poke loses againts shields, but it is more complicated than that. Consider rushing Mikael against these lanes, for the MR and the extra cleanse, and just all-in into them once the enemy support wastes its cooldowns. The game plan against these lanes is similar to before, punish them for missing their abilities.
Obviously, every game is different, and every player plays different. So be adaptive. In general, you always want to push LVL 2 (first wave and 3 melees minions from the second wave) before them and try to W or E your ADC so they can trade a couple basic attacks, unless the risk is too heavy and you might gift a double kill. But with Milio you just wait for action to happen.

https://preview.redd.it/8pnj753y4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=dea7c636cc03d926593db2e943b43dfd0fc8f7a8

Roaming:

Roaming is what makes the difference from one good support to a great support. It is a complicated topic, but the higher on rank you go, the more important it becomes. Not just for Milio, but for any support, even more on engage ones.
There are a couple different scenarios where it would be useful to roam.
1- You backed, and are getting back to lane. NEVER go straight to botlane, path towards the jungle and pay attention to your teammates. Is my mid fighting and needs helps? Is my jungle contesting crab? Is my mid about to get dove? Is my jungle doing an objective? Does my jungler wants to invade and may need my help? The amount of times i saved my mid from any scenario, or pathed towards herald and made the difference towards an objective is what made me climb.
2- You wipe out the enemy botlane and crashed the wave into their tower, but don't have enough gold to buy an item. Roam somewhere, even if it is just putting a deep ward into enemy jungle. Ask yourself the same questions as before.
3- The enemy is freezing the wave.
Do not worry about your ADC in these situations, just ping them careful or type in chat "roaming pls don't die", if your ADC plays safely, you might also force the enemy support to roam as well.
You don't have to get an assist or do something really flashy when roaming. Just being there so your mid doesn't die is more than enough. Also, don't roam if it isn't necesary, or if your ADC will 100% die if you are not there.

https://preview.redd.it/enighaly4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4b8f518dce966226d23bb750d6dea85ed4d10ce

ADC Pairings:

While theoretically ADC with tons of range like, Kog Maw or Cait seem to be the perfect pairing with Milio, just about any ADC that can make a threatening damage with their autos are really good. Ashe, Sivir, Jinx, Vayne, Draven, to say the least.
I do think that ADCS that HUGELY rely on hard engage to dominate laning phase (Xayah, Tristana, Nilah, Samira) or ADCS/APCS that don't rely on basic attacks (Ezreal, Varus, Veigar, Ziggs, Seraphine) are not the ideal pair with Milio, so if you have the chance, you might consider changing your pick.
https://preview.redd.it/k447sm3z4iqa1.png?width=1199&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6b30675c016fb28082935e58eaeb70472b5f22e

Random Tips:

-Don't buy so many control wards. If you hypothetically buy 2 control wards every back for the first 15 minutes, and say you died once. Assuming you only backed 7 times, you spent 525g only on vision, which is obviously an exaggerated number, but it shows how much money you can spend without realising. Also, item spikes are essential to Milio, so just buy one every back, and two only if there is an objective coming up.
-You don't need to always babysit your ADC. I know that the range% in your W most games works only on your ADC, but if there is a teamfight, prioritize saving someone with your W rather than letting your 1/4 ADC gain 12% more range.
-Build flexible. Not only with Shurelyas/Moonstone, but read the room and analize your team champs, then, buy accordingly. It doesn't serve much purpose to auto pilot and buy chemtech putrifier when there is no healing on the enemy team.
-Try to avoid carrying ignite. Milio is always playing at the backline, and to ignite someone you have to put yourself in danger. If possible, bring exhaust or heal. (Don't do this if you are against a healer on lane, read the room)
-Change to sweeper. Surely, you must change to sweeper once your support item evolves, but leaving a ward in the river and changing it before the match starts will help you in most cases. Having a sweeper helps you with roams, helps you control the bushes, and helps you eliminate enemy´s support wards. The only time i don't do this is if i am against a hard engage lane, where eliminating wards puts me in so much danger, or if i am against a heavy ganking jungler, like J4 or Nunu.

2023.03.28 16:33 Kenni57rocks In regards to the new skills from a casual that's been playing since 03

Sailing is a meme skill from the olden times, doesn't need to actually be considered for making into a real skill. Cool concept though.
Taming is just half of summoning with extra steps, realizing it's a "permenant" fixture for the player, once a meta is established, it's like bringing enough summoning pouches for a trip to whatever activity requires it.
Shamanism is the other half of summoning, doing what we could work Herblore into right now. Collecting components (charms), combine them (whatever the thing you used to train summoning was, nodes or something), salves & oils sounds like herblaw 2.0, while idols, relics, tikis and totems sound like some RS3 token stuff, use this item to get better xp for x-time.

2023.03.28 15:36 LastBaron Brainstorming low maintenance minions for Guardian Onslaught

EDIT: solved to my satisfaction, I don’t believe this is possible, at least not in a remotely cost effective way for this build.
ORIGINAL THREAD:
Guardian’s Radiant Crusade ascendancy notable grants onslaught if you have 5 allies nearby. My intent is to try and make this work with a non minion build, essentially using the minions (or other similar allies) as a shortcut to permanent onslaught plus any ancillary buffs or taunt/meat shield effect that might come along as a bonus.
Frankly I consider the loss of a few gem sockets to make a minion setup work and grant onslaught better than having to take the subpar nodes of Bastion of Hope or Harmony of Purpose. However any investment beyond those 3-4 gem slots (into gear or tree, or even more gem slots) would effectively scrap the idea, they would simply no longer be worth it. I’d just take a subpar ascendancy node or pick a single tanky minion to summon to get the 10% more damage and forget about the onslaught.
Unfortunately I’ve hit the road block where each minion setup comes with some major drawbacks to usability with a setup like this and I’d like to “talk it through” publicly and see if anyone has any workarounds for any of the following.
Overall I’m pretty well about of brilliant ideas and coming here as a last resort to see if anyone can spot something I missed.
It’s possible the game is just not designed to allow survivable minions without investing heavily into gear and tree, and if so, we’ll then that’s that. Would appreciate any comment or insight.

2023.03.28 13:20 LevellingPaladin Newb Holy Paladin - feeling disheartened by my first run. (Era)

I’ve been really nervous to start healing on Classic Era. I normally just DPS because it’s easier but I thought, if I’m going to play a Paladin, I’m going to at least play them as a tank and healer in dungeons on top of levelling in Ret since I see a lot of forum hate towards Ret players in era (for existing 😂). I don’t know what I want to do yet at endgame, I just love the class fantasy, enjoy the pace and I like to buff other players in the open world.
I was level 19 and I got invited to my first Deadmines run, filling their last spot as a healer. After making my way there, I actually ended up having to stand outside the instance for half an hour. It seemed to be a guild run and they were waiting for their friend to do the Defias escort quest so they could get the dungeon quests that follow. It peeved me a bit as I’d have picked up blessing of freedom had I known they weren’t all completely ready. When I realised this was happening, it was too late.
I didn’t think to check before we entered but when we got in, there was no tank. There was a warrior, warlock and paladin. Arms, something and Ret. I wasn’t too worried. I’m new to era, I’m not sure how they did it back in the day and I wondered if it was meant to be a little more yolo than the traditional we’re used to now. I was told to heal the Lock, who I then realised was about level 32, the Pally was 26 and the Warrior & Hunter were 15-17. The Lock was sending in their IMP, to my surprise. Ret and Arms were stealing aggro often (by accident, though, I’m sure). They took a lot of damage and as I was healing them up, my Holy Light was merely tickling them. So now I start panicking and using my Rank 3, going OOM and as soon as I say “OOM”, they’re off, pulling the next pack. Pulls felt as fast as a normal Dragonflight dungeon.
We wiped twice, I had to start using bandages at some points when OOM. Weirdly, it started to help when I began DPSing whilst low on mana to help get the pack down quicker. However, we made it to the end and it didn’t feel like forever.
During the run, I felt guilty because I won a great drop and didn’t feel like I deserved it because I was in such shambles. I was going to trade it to the warrior but then I realised it was BOP.
I guess next time I’d like to try healing a group more at my level range, then I’ll see how good or bad I am at healing.
But yeah. I wanted it off my chest, I feel disheartened by it and a little nervous. I apologised to them but there was silence afterwards. At any rate, I’m not going to stop playing a Paladin because I like the class and did three Warsong Gulch’s at 19, DPSing but mainly healing FC and others.
Maybe it will get better when I have more than just cleanse and holy light.
How easy is it to tank as a Paladin while levelling? Maybe healer is the wrong role for me.
