I (20, F, 5’7 ~180lbs, 1/2 Korean 1/2 Caucasian) am diagnosed with bipolar 1. I was diagnosed during a psychotic episode in January 2022. I have a family history of bipolar, schizoaffective, and OCD. I also have CPTSD and BPD.
I recently was in jail where I could not have my medications (400mg Quitiapine, started in January. 150mg Lamotrigine, same dose since middle of last year. 25mg Hydroxyzine, on and off as needed. Gamma-aminobutyric acid, 1000mg as needed ((which my psychiatrist didn’t even write me a prescription for, he had me order them through Amazon. My PCP was shocked by this.))) During this time, I also ate nothing except for 2 bags of the fruit mix you get with breakfast and rarely drank water.
I have been under so much stress that my period was late by 5 weeks (I took a pregnancy test each week, not pregnant), and had a seizure-like event after I was sick with norovirus. I had norovirus so badly that my psych thought I was pregnant. I ended up having to go to the ER and was incontinent for the first 3 days I was sick. At the ER again after the seizure like event, which lasted for 2 hours on and off. I requested that the person I was with time it, but that was ignored and that person did things to hurt me. I’ll spare you the details about the drama. The seizure thing most reminded me of a tonic clonic with absence. I saw flashing rings with my eyes shut, lost vision in each eye at different times, had dissociation/time distortion. I also got very sweaty and was gasping for air, I couldn’t breathe, it felt like I was holding my breath by default.
I’ve had some conflict with my psychiatrist in the past. He ended up needing to talk to his therapist about me, and tried telling me about how he felt all emotionally. He’s been badgering me to read “attached” which is a relationship book, but I am not interested in dating or love with anyone. It’s been months. He brought up the idea of transference, and talked more and passionately about counter transference. Then reaction formation. I felt like we weren’t a great match after we’d been keeping up appearances for almost a year. I tried to talk about seeing other psychiatrists, multiple times throughout the months, and he always tried to talk me out of it. Most recently, he begged just to see me in person one last time. He sounded so emotional, it caught me off guard. He’s always threatened me by saying that if I leave him, I won’t be able to see another psychiatrist within the clinic at which he works. I told my PCP, she said that can’t be right. She said it might be because of an intake window. I called the clinic, asked to talk to someone who schedules the psychiatric appointments, she said that there was no one there at 2pm on a Wednesday. She said that I cannot transfer my care within the department. I’m in Washington State. She had no idea about an intake window, it felt like she was just playing dumb though. I also have tried talking to the schedulers multiple times throughout the months, they all say I can’t transfer.
I’ve been having what we’re first described by my PCP as tics, which I notice get worse with stress. I didn’t consider them tics at first because the movements can happen slowly. I also am still having that breathing issue when the tics happen sometimes. I can try to hold the tics in, but it feels kind of like if you’re addicted to nicotine and you need nicotine and don’t get it. Kind of tight, light, anxious, restless. Vocal, motor, and I don’t know if I’m having mental tics or intrusive thoughts. I’ve been more outwardly obsessive and compulsive, which has now manifested as rituals. Prior, it was just mental processes and intrusive thoughts.
When I’m alone and relaxed, it feels like I have a hat on or my brain is buzzing. I also feel like I have bugs crawling on my skin when I lay down to sleep. I also started having more frequent and harder to distinguish from reality auditory hallucinations.
I think that since I didn’t have my medications, I may have had an overdose. My psych wants to put me on 500mg now.
I’m technically homeless right now, (staying at a motel), and his visits cost a lot, it seems he doesn’t care. He says it’s “unethical” to discuss pricing. To sum up our whole relationship, it feels like he’s mad at me, judging me, or in appropriately emotional. I feel trapped. This is not the first time something he’s done, or neglected has potentially put my life in danger. Maybe he considers it a sort of mercy kill? I don’t know what appropriate expectations would be, but I would think he should tell me about interactions, side effects etc. I feel like he’s trying to silently kill me with neglect and cutting me off from potential support. Is it even legal to prevent my transfer of care within the same institution when it’s not a scheduling issue? If I overdosed, why does he want me to take more? Isn’t the cocktail he put me on dangerous anyways?
I would like A psychiatrist’s point of view, second opinion, and to know if these are major red flags I shouldn’t be ignoring. I just have no idea what’s going on anymore.

Revolutions

- If you lose at least 10 Brawls in a row, there is a chance your Clones will start a Revolution against the King. If this happens, you are taken to a special PvE Brawl, where the revolutionary Clones will battle against the Clones still loyal to you. If you lose the battle, your King will be dethroned and decapi... Umm, given a new haircut.
- If the revolution is successful, your Clones will organize into a democracy and they will hold an election to choose a new President. You will be unable to use the elected Clone in battles for as long as it acts as the President. There will be new elections each four years.
- Additionally, two democracies are unable to Brawl against each other. In the case that two democracies are matched against each other, neither President may sling any Clones to the arena.
- If you do not wish to transit to a democracy, you can reduce the chances of a Revolution happening by keeping your Clones well fed and well paid. Also, don't eat too much cake.

Badland Savings Bank

- The Badland Savings Bank will act as the new last Land after Inferno Night (this is absolutely in no way a social commentary about the position banks hold in the society), and only players who reach the Land are able to use its services.
- You can now apply for loans from the Badland Savings Bank to buy a new Tower or to upgrade it! You will have to pay a monthly interest to the Bank based on the size of your loan.
- You can deposit your Gold in the Bank and receive a modest yearly interest.

New mechanics based on Land and day cycle

Each Land now has unique features based on the environment and day cycle:
- Jungle: Clones might get lost, making them unable to participate in the Brawl
- Canyon: Dust storms might rise, obscuring the view and scratching the inside of the screen of your device
- Frozen: If you don't sling any Clones to the bridge for a while, your King/President might freeze over, preventing them from shooting arrows
- Inferno: You will have to keep you Clones cool by periodically dipping you device in water or by blowing to the screen
- Bank: There is a bank vault in the center of the bridge. Please do not rob it.
- Dawn: Your Clones will need some time to wake up before the Brawl, and will shower before they can begin. Please give them some privacy by turning off the screen.
- Noon: You can join your Clones for a tasty meal. Afterwards, you should rest.
- Dusk: You may need to turn on the flashlight in your device to help your Clones see the bridge in the darkening evening
- Night: Clones might start sleeping in the bridge if they feel too tired. Also, you'll have to pay them double salary for night work.

In an effort to make Badland Brawl carbon neutral by 2030, we've made the following changes to Clones:

- The gasoline motors in Bomb Golem and Doom Golem have been replaced with electric ones
- The excess heat from Bombs will be used to heat the Towers
- The lasers in Mecha Bunny and Laser Bunnies have been changed to more energy-efficient ones
- Magnet has been turned into a Legendary Clone, to reflect its new scarcity as most Magnets are required for building wind turbines
- Players are allowed to use at most one flying Clone per year
- Electromancer is removed from the list of Clones, as she will use her talents to generate clean, renewable energy
- Mind Tick is removed from the list of Clones and will be used to "educate" players about energy-saving methods, instead

TLDR: In the context of the entertainment industry (custom one-off lighting, props and scenic special effects) is Arduino the most viable platform or a dead end?
Hi all, I just wanted to get some advice from professionals in the embedded world and see what I’m missing!
To give you a bit of context, I’m a lighting/electrical guy working in large producing houses in the theatre industry, we often are tasked with making bespoke props, special effects or scenic elements which fall outside the remit of stage automation (a well populated and standardised area of the industry, using safety certified PLCs). Basically I don’t touch anything that needs an E-Stop.
We often have only a couple of weeks to develop a bespoke one-off special effect, essentially it’s a process of rapid prototyping and the prototype is quite often the final product.
There’s usually nothing hugely complex about the projects and often I can adapt or combine the code from previous projects in order to get the job done quickly (which is seen as the highest priority in this industry).
Coming from an EE background a lot of my solutions were very ‘analogue’, (switching relays in various combinations via custom diode networks, using hardware PWM controllers etc) however I’d been curious to learn the basics of how to get a microcontroller to do all the things that are quite difficult or costly to do in the analogue domain and got into Arduino as an accessible gateway into the digital world.
Projects are typically things that receive a trigger (either via a physical button press, MIDI or DMX serial data) and do a thing (light up something via PWM, spin a stepper motor a set amount of steps or energise a solenoid or a relay). I’ve made self playing pianos, one armed bandits, miniature pixel tape controllers to be hidden in costume props, it’s a really fun job but I’m sure it’s quite basic, unrefined and ‘hacky’ in comparison to real industrial embedded development.
I guess a lot of what we do only one level up from hobbyist tinkering and Arduino, with a wealth of open source projects online, provides us with a platform to do things very quickly.
We are a world away from safety critical automotive or medical applications and we are only ever making a couple of units, not 10,000,000 and the development cycle is sometimes a couple of weeks end to end rather than months or years.
The second aspect to consider is that we tend to be mainly EEs not software engineers and as technology moves on, there is a growing expectation from creative teams that we are able to produce embedded solutions so it’s important that the platform is accessible.
Most things could be comfortably achieved on 8bit AVR, so that would probably be the end of the debate, however DMX/RDM commonly used in theatre lighting is timing specific and must meet ANSI standards, so ideally I’d ideally like to have DMX/RDM running uninterrupted on one core of a modern dual core chip and then all the other project specific nonsense on the other, making it harder to break the DMX/RDM side of things when hacking a project together quickly.
I’ve been looking into STM32, in order to take advantage of newer, faster and more powerful dual core chips (and maybe eventually start to develop some useful transferable skills to the professional embedded development industry!) but this is suddenly less viable if it increases development time, or if it becomes much less accessible to my colleagues to adopt in their work.
What would you consider the best approach here?

It was raining when she came. Dark skies had threatened a downpour all day, claps of thunder intermittent but the rain itself had held off until nightfall, until after we had gotten home, tucked into pj's and sheltered from the storm.
Hearing the door chime didn't surprise me, but it should have. My home is not central to anything. You need to travel dirt tracks and winding roads. Unless you know where you're going, I'm very hard to find. I wasn't expecting anyone, but still I rose from where I'd been sitting on the couch, trying to unwind after a long day. I wasn't psychic or anything, but I had a peculiar feeling all day that something wasn't right and hearing the knocking had cemented that for me.
She was dressed in a green sundress, sandals, a very strange sight considering the weather. And as the wind and rain danced violently around her, whipping her long, wet, dark hair around in every which direction, she simply looked possessed, like a crazy person. But still, I didn't flinch. Instead I opened the door, taking a step back to allow her inside. She glared at me as she stepped inside, dripping water onto the wooden floorboards, and making squelching noises with every step she took. "I'm not here to play games, Thomas. Where is he? Where is my son?"
For a moment, I'd had hope. Despite how she had arrived, despite the look in her eyes. I took a long breath, trying to compose myself, to keep my voice from breaking as I told her the news she had never been able to accept. "Ava, your son's gone, he's in heaven now. You.. You killed him."
The rage in her eyes broke me, sending shivers down my neck. She screamed like a wild animal caught in a trap, running to find the first thing she could grab hold of - my glass coffee table - and lift it and throw it as hard, and as far as she could against the wall. We were silent, breathless, as we listened to the glass shatter into a million pieces.
I'd never been close to my sister. She had been born years after me, after my mother had passed away and dad remarried, I was 15 when Ava came into the world. I remember holding her awkwardly, feeling something between love and contempt for this scrunched up, pink skinned and blue eyed little human.
I was moved out, living my own life by the time she learnt to ride a bike, by the time she started school. I saw them occasionally, holidays like Christmas and we would make awkward conversation over the phone on birthdays, but as time passed it was like they all were strangers to me, we had nothing in common, my dad and my step mum were busy with teenager Ava, and I was busy trying to start a family of my own. Life just got busy, I guess.
When I got the phone call saying dad and my step mum had been killed in a car crash, I was devastated. I kicked myself for not spending more time with them, and then my thoughts went to my sister, to Ava, 16 years old and now, all alone. I got on the phone and told her I was on my way to her, ready to help my little sister in any way I could. I realised I was about to become a guardian of a teenage girl who I basically knew nothing about, a teenage girl who was grieving the death of the only family she had ever known.
I needn't have been so rush in my decision to jump in the car, by the time I arrived it was clear that Ava was basically fine. It had been less than 24 hours since her parents death, but she was sipping on a daiquiri by the pool when I arrived. I cried to her and she held my hand in cold disdain. I never saw a tear.
It was only a mere few weeks later that I got another call, this time from a worried neighbor. The police tape cautioned off the childhood house I grew up in, a dozen or so officers roamed the yard and trailed in and out of the house, bringing out bags marked as 'Evidence'.
I wasn't sure what was going on. I knew dad and my step mum had been killed in a car accident, I wasn't sure if it was protocol to search the home of a deceased accident victim, I had no idea. So when I eventually saw little Ava sat in the back of one of the patrol cars, my heart dropped into my stomach.
I went over to the car to talk to her. To ask her what the heck was going on, but before I can get a word out, a beefy officer is standing between me and the car, his arm outstretched in a stop signal. "Sorry, I just wanted to talk to my sister. This is my parents house and -" The cop looked incredulous, shaking his head slowly then quicker with every word I spoke. He didn't respond to me in anyway once I finished talking, just started me in the eyes as he took his walkie talkie off his belt, and spoke into it. He asked for his boss, Stat.
I'm lead into a cop car myself. Although I'm not arrested, or cuffed, I still feel anxious getting inside. I wonder how scared Ava must be, and the thought makes me mad. Why the hell are they interviewing us in the back of a damn cop car? I fired my question at the Sargent and the cop in the front seat, and watched as they passed a look between themselves.
"I'm sorry no one's explained the situation to you, sir. Your sister isn't being interviewed. She has been arrested, and once the boys have finished up with the evidece bags, she'll be heading down to lock up. She is being charger with murder, so if you have a lawyer, how will probably be the time to get in contact." "Mm-murder? What are you talking about? I was told my parents had been killed in a car accident and now you're telling me my little sister had something to do with their death?"
"Sorry, sir. I should have been more clear. You're correct, your father and his wife were killed in a motor vichele aciident. This is relating to something... Ah, someone else, entirely. Now I need to ask you a few questions while we've got you here, if we aren't done by the time the others are ready to leave, we can continue this down at the station. That okay?" I nod numbly, not taking in what they're saying. The first question he asks me, is if I knew my 16 year old sister had been pregnant. I look out the window and catch Ava's eye. She smiles and waves at me, and even though I feel sick to the stomach, I plaster on a fake smile and wave back, as well.
Now, in this moment, I make Ava tea. She has showered, now warm and dressed in one of my old dressing towns. She cries as she sips the tea, saying she's sorry she's sorry she's sorry. She didn't do it. She didn't do it. She didn't do it. I give her a look of comfort and tell her it's okay, it's all going to be okay. She eats the lemon biscuit I brought out with the tea, between mouthfulls she tells me about living in the psychiatric ward, about how the people there scared her and the medicine she took made her feel sleepy and dull.
She asks me if she can stay here for a while, and I tell her of course she can. She's my little sister and I love her, no matter what. I tuck her into the spare bed, telling her things we be better in the morning, but she's already snoring by the time I finish my sentance. I close the door, sliding the lock behind me. As I prepare the evenings snack, I am feeling relived. I knew Ava wouldn't be having a great time in that place, but whenever I called up to see how she was going, she would only ever say things were fine, opting to always end our conversation before the allocated time was up.
I could hear the sadness in her voice, the desperation to get out, and it broke me. I would offer to come visit, bring her anything she felt like but she said with the contraband ban, there was no point. She never felt like having a visitor, refusing my requests and when I asked the nurses about it, they told me she spent most of her time staring off into space, they couldn't force her to accept visits, and that was that.
She would be out when she turned 23, after serving the 7 year sentence for the manslaughter of her newborn. Everyone said she was lucky to not get jail, but after hearing her voice in the psychiatric ward, I wasn't so sure I agreed.
Now she's here, out of that awful place. I'm going to really take care of her, something I should have done all those years ago. I'm her big brother after all, and it's up to me to make sure she's looked after. I go down stairs, this time carefully carrying a tray, with warm milk and few of the infamous lemon biscuits.
Karl is sitting up cross legged in his race car bed, concentration vivid on his little face as he plays a game on his Xbox. A moment later he let's out a little whoop, and I can't help but to smile at his excitement. "Kicking everyone's butts still, I see." Karl laughs at my comment, blushing but pleased. I can tell he's chuffed, and it makes me happy seeing his genuine joy.
I place the tray on his desk, and sit next to him to watch him play for a while. He offers me the controller and asks if I want to have a turn? I shake my head, and thank him, telling him its time for this old man to be getting to bed. He grins at me when I call myself an old man, and shakes his head laughing as he calls me silly.
"Milk and biscuits here when you're ready. Remember, lights out in an hour. I love you, son." "Okay, thanks dad. I love you, too."
As I walk out of his room, I ponder for a moment, wondering and hoping it wasnt, if it was possible he had heard any of that commotion upstairs, but eyes still glued to the screen, Karl seemed as happy as ever and basically impervious to anything apart from the car racing game he was playing.
It was me who'd asked her to babysit. Begged her, really. Told her how much Jennie and I had been fighting, how hard the baby was on our relationship. She said she really wanted to help her big brother out and she even said it would be a welcome distraction from the finals she was studying for. No mention of the parents she had recently lost.
She told me she felt a bit nervous about it all, but she felt it would be good for her, as well. I agreed. We organised a time for an evening a night away, and that was that, my plan was in motion. Done all over HiddentextApp of course, so there was no trace of our conversation.
It was all the rage with the kids these days, according to Google, so when I suggested it to my sister, she hadn't batted an eyelid. I knew she had been having trouble sleeping, and honestly, for the both of us, it seemed like the easiest way.
There would be no one to blame, it would be a simple, cruel act of nature that no one would even consider questioning. She could of said it was an accident, and everyone would have believed her. I didn't think she would do what she did. I asked her if she was still okay to babysit, feigning guilt and worry, and she had nodded. Our fathers and her mother's death had not seemed to greatly affect her. She seemed bored of talk of them. "A distraction would be great." I thanked her with a close, tight hug, and told her I'd brewed her some green tea and made a batch of an old recipe my mum used to make me while I was growing up, lemon biscuits.
Once Ava was settled on my couch, Netflix on the tv, with her snacks and mug of green tea. She had baby monitor on hand so she was ready to hear the cries that would never come. I expected silence when I got home. I expected Ava, sleeping peacefully, still on the couch where she had first sat down.
But she wasn't. And the house was not silent, instead the sound of an electric saw penetrated the halls. Maybe the shock of losing both parents, perhaps she felt bad for the fact they were out on the roads that night, they would have been safely tucked up in their bed if it had not been for their teenage daughter needing to be picked up. I don't know, seeing the baby like that.. Well, I guess that honestly would've broken anyone's soul.
At the start, I tried to explain to her, calmly and using soft voices, but she was beyond contemplating my words. It was as if what I was saying to her, she just simply could not comprehend. I tried to stop her, honestly I did, but she was a force that could not be reckoned with and truly, Ava had basically already finished when I arrived home.
The walls were painted red. My hacksaw now lay disgauardrd to one side of Ava, who was just as red as the walls. I didn't notice the noise had ceased. All I could hear was the hammering of my own heart in my chest. She cradled something white and rubbery to her chest, blood making it slippery to keep hold of, and once I realised what it was, I'm throwing up and crying and screaming as well.
When I catch my breath I ask what the fuck she has done and she tells me it's her son, her son, her son. She loves him. She loves him to pieces and she's never going to leave him. She was fixing him. Fixing him. Fixing him. She laughs and smiles. I take her home, with what's left of the baby wrapped up in a towel. She holds the towel as we drive, singing to it, cooing.
The scene is stuck in my memory, a picture I have tried hard to forget, but it greets me every time I close my eyes. I sit in the car and watch as she cradles the bundle in one arm, still singing softly to it, and let's her self inside my empty, parentless childhood home.
Now she is back, and this time she is a threat to my family. To my son, who can never ever know what this woman has done. She's still sleeping when I go back into the spare bedroom.
I am not surprised, because I did give her enough sleeping pills in her green tea to knock out a grown man. But, I had no choice really. If only she stayed away..I sigh to myself as I place the pillow over the top of her head. She could have started her life all over again. But no, she couldn't. As a good big brother, it was my responsibility to help her, in whatever way that meant.
I knew she would never accept that her son was dead or that she had been the one to kill and dismember him. I knew her life would be a constant battle of heart break and pain. I was doing her a favor. And keeping my family safe, as well.
It's almost daylight when I return home. I am straight into the shower, dressing quickly for my day before I head into the kitchen and get started on Karl's favorite breakfast - banana pancakes with maple bacon on the side.
He beams as I pass him his plate and thanks me for being the best daddy in the whole world. It's always the moments like this that I feel a pang of guilt. I wonder if his brother would have the same opinion, had he still been around. In my mind I picture the two of them, identical twins, sat side by side with me at the table.
Would Rory had liked maple bacon? I ruffle Karl's hair as he finishes eating, telling him he better get a move on if he doesnt want to miss his bus again, and he laughs and goes to get dressed for school. Before he left, he flashed me a grin and crinkled his green eyes with happiness. I think of last night, of Ava, those same green eyes staring up at me in panic when she woke up, managing to push the pillow off her.
She glared at me, opening her mouth to scream, or maybe ask me why, but I placed the pillow back in place and leaned down before she could speak. Her eyes were open when I eventually took the pillow off again, this time the green eyes were bloodshot and vacant,staring at nothing. The exact same eyes I had seen on Rory when I walked into the twins bedroom to check on him. He was blue, his eyes that blazed green were open, unblinking. I stared at him for a long time, until Karl's crys woke me up, brought me back to reality. I took Karl down for his bottle, placing a blanket on his brother, who was cold to the touch. I knew it was too late. I knew it didn't matter anymore. But to me, it would always matter.
I was a good dad, really I was. I had wanted to be a dad for so long, that when I heard my baby sister was pregnant at 15 years old, I felt sick with anger and disappointed. But my dad and step mum had pleaded for me to take the babies, to raise them. Ava didn't want them, she wanted to get rid of them, but it was too late in the pregnancy.
They told me Ava had her whole life ahead of her. They told me I could have what I had always wanted, to be a dad. We didn't have to tell anyone. It would be a family secret. Just better for everyone that way, my dad had said. So I agreed.
I had never wanted to hurt Ava. I had given her sleeping pills so she wouldn't go searching for her son. So she could simply fall asleep, and I'd come home later that evening, and together we would discover the absolute heart breaking news that baby Rory had passed away in his sleep. Which is what had happened, just a few hours before.
She had questioned why their would only be one baby to look after, but when I explained that Karl had been a bit under the weather and we wanted to keep a close eye on him, she didn't give it another thought. She never even asked why Jennie wasn't around, given we were supposedly heading off for a mini getaway sans one child.
I hadn't told anyone we'd separated, after she decided having kids just wasn't for her. I felt guilty, but not too guilty. Ava had given the babies away without another thought, not even bothering to check in on them or ask how they were growing. I didn't think it would truly affect her so much. And so.. Badly.
But in a fucked up way, it all worked out in the end, I guess.

I wanted to post this online for other people who might be googling and researching purchasing a Kia K5. I want to make this review as short as possible. I have driven many sedans from BMW, Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Kia and more. I wont dilly dally , I will be concise:
I test drove the 2023 Kia K5 today with the 1.6L turbo engine.

The car looks BEAUTIFUL on the inside and outside. However, it must be an optical illusion because it drives worse than a corolla. The little engine was struggling to move the car and anytime I attempted to go uphill, it would downshift and rev as if like I did not know it was pretending to be faster than what it actually is. The transmission on this car is EXTREMELY busy and always downshifting to allow you to accelerate. Its so obvious the engine is too small for this car.

Also, when I would come to stop signs or stop lights, the little engine would vibrate the whole car to the point where my butt actually could feel the vibration, it felt like I was sitting on a vibrator or something, it was really unrefined. I would strongly recommend you look past this sedan with this tiny engine, I thought it was a great price, but thats about it. They need to put work into the vibrations, wind noise on the car, and the transmission. I think a car this size needs a bigger motor to drive smoothly, and no I dont want the 290 hp in the EX trim, I should not have to pay so much extra for that.

I'm just rambling and getting everything off my chest because I'm anonymous here and won't be judged.
TLDR: my life is a mess.
I don't know where, when, or how things went wrong. I was always a bright student academically, consistently ranking in the top 4. When I was a kid, I used to say I would become a scientist in the future. I used to build fans, cars, and boats using motor pieces and batteries, and I used to love it.The innocence, the passion. Moreover, I used to live my life.
After completing my SEE with a 3.6 GPA, life was still good. However, when I joined the science faculty in +2, the transition from class 10 to class 11 was too much for me initially. During class 11, I discovered programming for the first time. Although I had heard about it before, I was never interested in it. After googling about programming, I became fascinated with the idea that it could be used to build apps. However, while I was doing well in my class 11 terminal exams, I started focusing less on my studies after being introduced to programming. As a result, I scored terribly on the final exam of class 11, with a GPA of 2.96, which was the lowest I had ever scored in my life.
My mindset regarding studying began to change. I started thinking that if I wanted to become a programmer in the future, I would likely be coding apps. So, what was the purpose of studying physics, chemistry, and mathematics? As a result, I stopped giving my studies much attention
In class 12, I started building apps and found it enjoyable. Although I didn't understand what I was doing or why things were working, I knew how to write the code to create basic apps. I even build a app and published it in google play store.
However, towards the end of my class 12 , the COVID-19 pandemic hit. During the pandemic, I didn't do anything productive I used to play PUBG with my friends, but surprisingly, I scored well on the finals and achieved a GPA of 3.43. This was due to the fact that the exams were held in own college and most probably papers were also checked in own college.
For my bachelor's degree, I had originally planned to study abroad, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to cancel those plans and decided to study in Nepal instead. I enrolled in a UK-based 3-year bachelor's degree program, which turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. I had a relative who was teaching at the university and he convinced me to enroll there. Unfortunately, I didn't do any research on the university or the program, which was a major mistake on my part.
At the time, I knew very little about computer science. And the problem with people who know little is that they think they know everything. I did the same. I believed that courses like CSIT were useless because they focused too much on theory and core computer science concepts that I thought I would never need in my future as a programmer. I could not me more wrong than this in my entire life. Now, when I see course structure of CSIT it seems very good. But grass is always greener on the other side.
My so-called three-year bachelor's degree is going to be completed in two years and three months, and I will be graduating in a couple of months. However, during these two years, I feel like I have hardly made any progress in both my technical and soft skills. When I started my bachelor's, I had a friend circle who knew nothing about computer science, and I was the only one with some knowledge. This made me feel overconfident, thinking that I knew everything and that I should be able to answer any question about CS. As a result, I started jumping from one technology to another without truly understanding them, just to impress people with my knowledge. I never lived my life during these years.
My friends who started very late are way ahead of me right now. And I am still sitting there in the same place in all these years. And this makes me feel very bad. I constantly find myself comparing myself with my friends who started very late than me and often think when and how everything went wrong in my life. As I will be graduating in couple of months I have no idea what I will do after graduation. I don't want to be a meme about unemployment that I used to laugh at many years ago.
I am planning to join masters in USA but the self doubt is not going anywhere. I feel I am not worth deserving anything in life and I won't get accepted in USA with good scholarship. My head feels heavy these days like it is blocked and I can't think out of my mind, it feels like something very heavy is inside my head and that is not letting my mind think properly. I often have emotional breakdown these days and when ever I see something that reminds me of my childhood I am often lost there and want to go back to my beautiful childhood where I was happy and didn't care about anything and anyone.
I used to live a life but now I just exist.

Disclaimers: I am not able to upgrade all my weapons to max perk level due to lack of time these days, but all weapons except the one noted are at least level 5+. For the same reason, I'm not going to come up with any snappy tag lines, just dry impressions.
The perks mentioned in each weapon is my PERSONAL preference, you don't have to follow exactly what I did if you like a particular stat over others. If you have any interesting perk combos, just reply below.
Unique perk means the first slot perk, these are usually unique to one weapon, or shared by only a few guns. Some of these are very OP and they completely changes the way that weapon work.
Common perks are perks in slot 2 and 3. These are shared by many weapons and mostly just minor stat changes.
FAQ's
Q: What's the best gun in this game?
A: There's no such thing as "best" weapon, there's only the one that's best for your class setup and situation. Some guns are better for fighting small groups and other are better at killing mobs. Class perk often affect the power of the gun and personal style influence your preference.
Q: How do I know if a gun is silent or not with the new skin system.
A: Open the gun customization window and read the description on top. Any silenced gun will says "silent". Don't rely on the graphics because silencer on the barrel is cosmetic and have no real effect on the silence mechanism.
Q: Which stats are the best to get, what do the stats mean?
A: Prioritize power, accuracy, and penetration; handling isn't as important. Power = more dmg per bullet. Higher accuracy means the hits will be closer to your reticle so you miss less. Penetration = number of additional zekes you can hit with each bullet, +1 Penetration = hit 2 zekes, +2 pen = hit 3 zekes. PEN is super important because it's a dmg multiplier.
Most of the time, you should use short bursting vs small groups, or full auto/mad clicking on large groups, so handling (the amount of rise after repeat shots or when you move around) doesn't matters as much. I would only add handling if a gun is firing all over the place with full auto and just can’t stay on target. Running and gunning is a bad idea in most scenario.
Total ammo is not stated in the customization menu, but it’s an important factor in insane/extreme difficulty and hard horde mode due to lower ammo amount in the crate. Some guns run out of ammo very easily and I will point them out specifically.
Q: Which guns are best for swarm fights?
Anything with +2 penetration is best for horde/pyramid/swarm fights. I will make specific mentions if some guns are good for large groups.
Q: Why are you talking about headshots so much?
Except boosted/Elite/Specials*, headshot will one-shot all other zekes. In higher difficult, zekes have a lot of HP, so body shots are not as effective. You really want to put your target down with as few bullets as possible because there are so many zekes to kill.
*Normal bullets only. Boosted/Elite and some weaker specials can still be one shot with the right weapon and setup.
Tier 1:
Scout Rifle: about the same as before.
Basic semi-auto rifle. Best for picking off zeke at mid range. +1 penetration and fixer can hit 4 zekes, so line up the targets and take advantage of the extra penetration. Best when used with ammo fixer because you just have to aim for the body and explosive ammo take care of the rest.
The unique wolfpack perk is same as before, but the Veteran II perk to increase reload speed is really great one to have too.
For the common perks, +10 magazine size is pretty fantastic, custom barrel +1 acc and +10% dmg is also good.
Compact SMG: slight improvement but perks are pretty meh
Worst out of the 3 starter gun. It's accurate only at close/medium range, low stopping power, and definitely not enough ammo. Thank god GS/medics can refill ammo with headshot, and slashers have melee power to compensate. Get close, use short burst and aim for the head because body shot takes forever to kill something.
Unique: snake-bite perk is more viable now because they removed the ammo penalty, but you still use up ammo too fast so I am avoiding it. Point blank +50% dmg is OK since compact suck at hitting far targets anyway. Go with CQB if you are a slasher or medic/GS with a big sword. All 3 perks carry some sort of down-side, so they are pretty meh.
For common, I use custom sight for +2 acc because you can headshot a bit easier (this gun reload fast so -10% reload isn’t a big issue). +10% DMG power perk is definitely needed. If you max the level, ammo pouch perk is really necessary.
Shotgun: Best starter gun got better
Personally I think it's best of the 3 starter guns. Lots of ammo, easy to aim, +1 penetration, and big stopping power. The T1 shotgun can one shot elite squad w/o explosive ammo! The slower pump action allow you to aim between rounds, so it's easy to one-shot target. I can even get third-hand to trigger without reloading. The range is not bad, but get up close and personal for max effect; rely on pistol for sniping enemy farther away. You do need to be point-blank range to one-shot bulls in the back, and at least 3 good shots to bring down an infector.
The fletchette unique is bad. On paper it looks good with +4 acc and +1 Pen. But the reduction in power makes it difficult to one shot zeke at higher difficulty. Because of the slow fire rate, this gun must be able to put down target with one round. I end up using extorsion instead, it’s an OK perk when you run out of bullets and zekes closing in. On edge is too situational for my taste.
Common perk is pretty standard, just pick what you like. I'd get the range bonus.
Pistol: about the same as before
Weak starter pistol, but still useful even for a veteran. It's extremely accurate, so use it to pick up head-shot against idle zekes. There is little reason to use your primary weapon when pistol can easily get you through early map during silence phase. It’s also great at picking off screamers if you are not using a rifle.
It really sucks the previous unique ability is now split into two. You must choose either +2 pen or +50% dmg against special. I still chose the +dmg because it’s good vs idle specials, screamers, and lurkers hiding around corner, you won’t rely on this gun when there’s multiple zeke charging you anyway so Pen doesn't matter that much.
For common, you want custom sights for +2 acc for a total of 11, because this is suppose to be a sniping weapon. Second slot is up to you.
Machine pistol: almost the same except for that insane 3rd unique perk (not i am not going to go into that buggy behavior)
An upgrade version of standard pistol with higher fire-rate. Same low dmg and 0 pen, so aim for the head with the 3-round burst, don’t try to body shot anything, it takes too long. Tons of ammo though.
The special perks are great. You start with perk that turn it into an automatic, and it is great fun to use. But last unique perk can add 20% ammo to your heavy weapon after 10 kills, which is especially useful for high dmg heavy like RPG or MGL. That's some really OP shenanigans if an exterminator can repeatedly fill up his RPG
The common perks exist to support that unique perk, so pick power and extended mag so you can get that 10 kills.
Tier 2
Assault rifle: Solid weapon got a minor buff
My favorite gun for mid-game just because I am an old school CS player. Good amount of ammo, range, and stopping power. Burst fire is extremely accurate even if you are not a gunslinger, and downright deadly if you are. This gun is really trust worthy when things get hairy because I know it can headshot something and put it down for good. The +1 pen and low handling is its main weakness. Full auto sends bullets everywhere, so only hold trigger if zekes are in your face or piled up. Relatively weak against pyramid or fences so you will be emptying magazine after magazine. At least ammo amount is high so you shouldn't run out as long as you are careful.
You really want to go for that last unique perk with +10% healing on self. First perk is OK until you get there, but mostly not useful because you probably already took some dmg when you find this gun. Second perk is pretty OP if you play as vanguard (frequent shield use), but not too useful for other classes.
For common perk, use ergonomics early on for handling and dmg, and +15% reload later on.
Sport Carbine: better than before but took an ammo nerf
I always see people skipping this gun because they don't know how good it is. It's better than the scout at everything: more power, acc, +2 Penetration is insanely good. Fixer with power shot can hit up to 5! It's the first gun I look for when I play fixer, but any other class can use it to good effect. This gun can fire faster and reload fast while dishing out a lot of dmg, especially against a horde or a pyramid. Due to high accuracy, it's even good against small groups because it's easy to rack up headshots. Carrying ammo capacity took a nerf in the new update, it’s down to 180 vs 225 before, so aim well and watch that ammo count.
Unique perk isn’t unique, but at least good. I wouldn’t take custom fit, that -10 mag size really hurt. Fresh mag is ok until you get veteran II for that +25% reload.
For common, I took the +2 acc/-10 reload just because I like to snipe with it. But really all 4 perks at the bottom are great choices and provide good buff. Take what you like.
Classic battle rifle: about the same as before
This gun's specialty is horde killing. If you are not a fixer, this is the second best tier 2 gun for killing large piles, so always pick this up before you fight a horde where the +2 penetration will collapse a pyramid easily. It's accuracy and handling is pretty bad, but not an issue vs pyramid or fences. You should swap it out once the swarm fight is done and you move onto silence phase. Ammo amount is still pretty low, so watch out for that.
Unique perk is just copy/paste from before, you still have tiger claw +25% dmg vs special. Or the HP round II that turns it into a fixer-only gun because fixers gets huge dmg and +2 pen back. The third perk add handling, it's not bad if you just want to use it for horde killing and doesn’t care about special dmg.
Common perk is still power and ammo pouches for more ammo, this gun really need more ammo.
Classic Bullpup: it’s better somehow?
A weaker version of the T-3 Bullpup with only +1 penetration and fire 2 rounds burst. Not sure why but this gun feels more powerful and more accurate than before, so maybe they shadow buffed it? Or maybe I finally figured out how to use it correctly with more practice. It’s a good choice to replace that T1 scout or compact SMG when no other choice is available. You do need to fire this weapon slowly because it’s hard to settle down, give it pause between shots. If you don't, it will fire everywhere and won't stay on target.
You no longer have to sacrifice magazine size for the scorpion tail perk, which is nice because it’s a decent perk. The other unique frankly sucks and I don’t know why Saber did that. Who the hell uses adrenaline on a regular basis? What a joke of a unique perk.
Common perks are nice. Custom round I with longer range and +1 acc is great. Power is OK, but weighted bullet with +20% dmg is even better. You don’t have to worry about ammo as much because it’s got large carry capacity and fire slow anyway.
Light Automatic Weapon: still great weapon with the right class
For a gun that's meant for full automatic fire, it's got surprisingly good burst accuracy with +1 penetration as a bonus. Accuracy/handling during full auto is decent and can stay on target with minor adjustment, so it won't fire all over the place like the AK or the CBR. Just don't expect to pick up long range targets. It seems to spawn more now, so maybe they shadow buffed the spawn rate? The 125 round magazine is amazing and countered-balanced by a 5 second reload animation (melee reload cancel at 75% instead of the normal 50%).
Don't let the long reload fool you, there are multiple ways to reload without actually reloading.

1. GS can constantly refill ammo using front-line supply: It adds rounds for each headshot. I often kill an entire swarm wave and the ammo count still reads 100+.
2. HellraiseExterminator have third-hand perk that reload the gun automatically after 15 kills. It’s really amazing with this weapon because you can just keep shooting. Watch out for ammo usage though, don't want to get too trigger happy and suddenly found out your ammo is 0
3. Fixer's ammo box can instantly reload it. Just remember to stay close to an ammo box, and also explosive ammo cancel out penetration. It's not semi-auto so fixer's power shot do not apply
4. Vanguard with quick hands perk can reload gun when you block a hit or charge. Just do a quick block and holster the shield, and you are back to full magazine.

Not sure why but this gun have FOUR unique perks. But bull’s horn is still the best because 5 out of 8 classes don’t have to worry about reloading. If you don’t like bull horn, boat tail is also great.
For common, custom barrel for dmg and acc is great, then Power perk. Veteran isn’t really needed because above mentioned shenanigans.
SMG: minor improvement, still meh though, need to test out lvl12 perk
A direct upgrade to the compact SMG. Use this gun exact same way as the compact SMG, short burst and aim for the head. It's more stable than compact so you can rack up multiple HS in a row even on full auto. Range and power is still an issue: it packs no punch past medium range, and ammo would run out way too fast. DEFINITELY need more carried ammo to be more effective. +1 Penetration is also bit hard to notice because it's weak. Use it if no other better alternatives available, or if you are playing medic with good aim. They really need to buff all SMG’s with more ammo.
Unique: CQB perk is basically third hand for slasher and Vanguard, pretty useful if you play these two class regularly. Perfectionist is meh unless you start with this weapon via perk. Semi-auto is suppose to be pretty good, but I haven’t been able to test it out since it's a lvl12 perk and I don't use SMG a lot
Common: anything that increases stat is OK. Ergonomics, veteran, and ammo pouch.
Combat shotgun: holy shit that eagle scout perk!
This gun is more like the T3 version after the update, but remember to slow down your trigger finer because firing too fast cause the accuracy to go down considerably. It’s a major upgrade from the tier 1 pump, just remember to pause and aim carefully vs small groups. No other complaints really.
Unique perk has to be eagle scout, period. It no longer carry the -4 magazine penalty, so now you simply has insane range for a shotgun and +1 more pen. No other unique perk affected a weapon as much as eagle scout, the practical difference is insane because this shotgun now has rifle-like range. If you have a hell raiser shotgun-build, it’s a complete blood bath until you run out of ammo. I won’t even go into the other two because there’s no point.
Common perk: I use custom sight for +2 accuracy because the default 3 acc is just too low. The rest is up to you.
Sniper rifle: major buff due to two round burst
Still the gold standard for semi-auto rifles. Just really high stats all around, it’s got everything you want except automatic fire. The key to use sniper is let it settle between shots. If you fire too fast, the bullets will go everywhere, so you have to pause between firing. Aim carefully and make shots count due to low carry capacity and low fire rate. You don’t want to miss at close range and then get beat up while reloading.
Unique perk: forget the old extreme perk, go for the new two round burst. The problem with old sniper is the slow fire-rate, so the two round burst compensated for that. Now you fire much faster with same accuracy. It’s another perk that fundamentally changes a gun in a good way. Just pay more attention to ammo since you chew thru twice as fast now.
Common perk: I use ergonomics II just because I want more handling for the second round to stay on target, so I’m willing to take that hit on reload speed. The last 3 perks are all very good too so take your pick.
PDW: still the same
Low stopping power, low accuracy, no pen, lots of ammo but not worth shit if you can't hit anything with it. To be honest I haven’t upgraded this thing enough to even hit level 8. But the base version is so bland it’s not worth the effort. I usually just keep pistol for sniping specials or shotgun for close quarter defense.
Fine motor skill unique perk does make it interesting if you are GS who like to switch guns.
I haven’t even upgraded this gun enough to see common perks yet.
Compact Shotgun: still the same
Decent secondary for personal protection, whip it out when zekes get too close and your primary magazine runs out. 4-round capacity is OK for emergencies and you can get it silenced, reloads fast as well. It definitely does not have the same stopping power as its primary weapon cousins, so do not expect to be able to drop zekes in one shot.
I haven’t even upgraded this gun enough to see common perks yet.
Dual-barrel shotgun: I did not upgrade this.
I used to use the unique version so I never haven’t bothered upgrading this; it’s only at level 2. At base level it's just a really powerful but short-ranged shotgun. I will update this later. Some people love this, others don’t, I am in the latter camp.
Revolver: work in progress
Revolver use to be bad and I used the unique version that didn’t require any upgrade, so it’s only at level 3. But I do think new revolver now packs a bit more punch because I am able to one-shot zeke more often now. Plus revolvers are just pretty bad ass looking in general. Wil update later if I upgrade it more.
Tier 3:
Assault Carbine: same old reliable with longer range
Carbine has gone through very few changes since the game release but finally getting buffs. It still works in all situations and for all classes, even though it's not the best at anything. I use it like a more stable AK. Only +1 penetration so it's not that good at pyramid killing, but it's great against smaller groups. Both small burst and full autos are pretty on-target so you can rely on it to always hit whatever you are aiming at. It’s still my top 3 guns for gunslingers because you can easily rack up multiple headshots in a row and replenish lots of ammo due to large magazine.
Unique: boat-tail round increase its accuracy and effective range, given carbine a very long range. It’s very effective at flat and open maps because you can pick up targets from very far away.
Common: Custom barrel, weight bullets, basically anything that adds more power and accuracy to kill faster.
Battle rifle: OMG WHY SABER WHY
Saber must’ve heard me saying how good this gun is so now they decided to nerf it hard. This use to be one of the best at mowing down pyramids due to automatic fire with +2 pen. But with XL update, even though other stats are left alone, both carrying capacity and magazine size took a large hit. The 25 round magazine is small for semi-auto fire mode and way too small for automatic, so you are reloading all the time and DPS goes way down. You have to park next to ammo crate because it runs out too fast. Power and accuracy are still great, but you can forget about the auto fire. I have switch this gun back to semi-mode because it’s still good when fired slower.
Unique: I am using boat tail, because the auto perk is nerfed. I treat it more like an upgrade to the T2 sport rifle, which is probably what Saber originally wanted this gun to be.
Common: Power and veteran I is good. If it really bothers you then extended mag and ammo pouch will increase ammo and capacity.
Bullpup: still a good weapon, not much changed
One of the best pyramid killer in the original release before it got power creeped, but still a great gun all around. Good stopping power due to 3-round burst, +2 penetration kills any horde and pyramid quickly. Extremely accurate at up to medium range. It's hard to find any fault with this thing except the low firing rate. The burst mode is demanding, use the gap between the burst to do proper aiming for best results. It's even better when fixers use it since now it's +4 Penetration. Total ammo is low, so watch that ammo usage.
Unique: I still use selective fire since I run fixer. It’s -1 penetration, but turns it into an automatic with optional zoom burst mode, and it's really ONLY for ammo fixers. This is THE FASTEST gun in the entire game, you chew through 45-round magazine in just a few seconds and drain the whole crate within 2-3 minutes. Only an ammo fixer can afford enough bullets to keep firing in auto mode, and it's ridiculously over-powered because it’s still treated as semi-auto rifle even during full auto mode. Just put down a few ammo box in front of yourself, and entire horde just disappeared due to sheet amount of explosive ammo travelling down range. Even bulls go down quickly due to all the explosive ammo to the face.
Common: weighted bullets since you use ammo box and veteran for faster reload. I use ergonomics II since reload time doesn’t matter too much if I am parked in front of ammo box.
Advanced SMG: No major change
Similar to T2 SMG but fire a bit faster with a bit more power, still not great though. Total ammo is the highest in game, but effective range is limited, so only use it at close/medium distance. It's easiest just to go full auto with this gun if you want to kill anything in a pile, or stick with long burst at close range. Its pretty weak against large swarm, OK with smaller groups.
For unique, go with FMJ for 1 more pen. This is one of only three automatic weapon that can do +2 penetration. With Battle rifle nerfed so badly, you are really down to this and T2 CBR. Power is further weakened but at least you have one more PEN. It’s better than the normal version.
Common: Custom round is must, SMG has such a short effective range. I also use weighted bullets to buff power since capacity is pretty high.
Special SMG: pretty much the same as before
The special SMG is what the advanced SMG should’ve been. Similar to tier 2 SMG but with more dmg, accuracy, and handling. Fire rate is lower than other SMG and you only get 40 rounds per magazine, but it's good enough. Carrying capacity is only 280 rounds so you do have to refill often. It's not really for swarm fights due to limited range and penetration, but works fine for smaller horde encounters at close distance. If you can aim well, the high accuracy and power is really good. Just don't expect to kill a ton of zekes with it.
Unique: First two perks are meh. Semi-auto sounds like a good idea, but it’s a lvl12 perk I haven’t reached yet.
Common: custom mag, range, and veteran are all good options.
ACW: Still GOAT
Still one of the best in game. The ammunition is explosive ammo and not an explosive, so explosive perk or nerf doesn't apply, and it has 0 penetration. High AOE dmg, good accuracy and handling, lots of ammo, good fire rate, you really can't ask for more. Each round can kill 6-7 zekes when things are all piled up due to higher AOE range. Just point and shoot, it requires very little aiming. The explosion range is similar to the cross-bow so be extremely careful when aiming for zeke clsoe to people (or yourself) because you might cause a lot of FF. Like other explosive ammo, it can hit a zeke during its death animation and waste a round. Not recommend for GS and fixer class, let weaker gun class like medic or DM have it. Vanguard/slasher should be careful with ACW because they usually zeke in close quarter, don’t splash dmg yourself, this weapon does not have shark skin perk.
Unique: Reparation perk is still the same as before the update, it’s a pretty good perk. Shrapnel is amazing though because it increase the explosive range of ammo for higher swarm killing power.
Common: Power and veteran is needed because this thing reloads slow.
Assault shotgun: good weapon got even better
This gun is awesome at close to medium range. Huge dmg, +2 pen fast fire rate, and 20 rounds magazine. You can mow down an entire fence easily. The range is pretty poor, so know your maps to know which area allows this gun to be most effective. It's a top tier choice for any class, but particularly good for Gunslingers and any class with third-hand. Carrying ammo is high so that's usually not a problem.
Unique perk: +10 Magazine anyone! Less reload is always good to increase DPS. Gunslinger with 30-round magazine is amazing since you refill 2 rounds per headshot. Even though it's not a game changer, bigger magazine is almost always a good buff
Common: I love custom round because it increase effective range. Also use ergonomics II to increase handling, this is one of the few guns that you can do run and gun with, so I took the reloading debuff for more handling.
Crossbow: from bad to decent, but still be very careful with it
I used to absolutely hate on this thing because too many newbs pick it up and just randomly hurt teammates with FF and cause all sort of havoc. It uses explosive ammo that cannot be silenced, so only use it during large battle when silence isn’t a consideration. Drop it as soon as swarm is over. AIM AWAY from your teammates and DON'T try to save your teammate with this thing, you will just blow them up with FF. It's nearly useless against bulls, but good vs all other specials including rats. I don’t recommend this weapon for newer players, you need to be good at aiming because your #1 priority is actually avoiding FF when using cross-bow.
Unique: You have to use shark skin. This perk used to carry a -1 magazine penalty, but that’s been removed. So now it’s just a really good ability. You can fire on the ground close to yourself instead of trying to hit a moving target with a slow bolt, and not worry about hurting yourself. Piecing bolt sounds good but not a good ability in practice because it reduces so much power.
Common: extended mag, veteran I are both good. You should have “Friend not foe” to reduce FF on teammates.
Multi-barrel shotgun: Saber what the heck is this thing, lol
First time I tried this gun, hated it. Level up a few times, loved it. Then I used it more, and now I hate it again. This guns is essentially a beefed up double-barrel. The amount of power is amazing; this thing collapse a pyramid in 2 rounds. But the range is just horrendous, you really have to be in melee range for it to have any noticeable effect. The pellets pattern is also extremely random with a very large and spread out cone. It’s not unusual for me to completely miss the zeke that’s 5 feet in front of me, but somehow kill the two zekes that’s on the side, which lead to some truly WTF moments. I don’t pick it up much anymore because on most maps zekes are just simply out of this gun’s reach. It’s great for Slasher and vanguard because they are always very close to target anyway.
Unique: Advanced user perk is great if you use vanguard shield to auto reload. Extortion works kinda the same but works for all other classes.
Common: this gun REALLY need custom rounds for more range because the default range is just terrible. Custom barrel is also a good choice for second slot.
Grenade Launcher: about the same as before
Unique weapon with very low spawn rate. It fires loud grenades, so don't use if you want to keep silent. One of the most fun gun to use and its low ammo is the only thing prevent it being abused. Refilling it 2-3 times in insane/extreme and ammo box is empty. Because it uses impact explosive grenade, GS's grenade perk and HR's explosive perk will both apply. It only explodes after hitting hard surface, so you can fire through teammates. The only class that can fully utilize its power is the hell raiser because of the extra explosive dmg perks.
Fun fact, you can spam this gun in “thief” mutator because each melee kill refills one ammo
Unique: If you are not a hellraiser, then the fire grenade perk is for you. The round works just like a molotov and Exterminator's molotov perks apply to it. You can use it choke off a small gap, or set a whole pyramid on fire. Kill and Heal is a great perk once you reach it, because it adds temp health.
Common: very few choice available, use Friend not foe to reduce accidental FF, and ammo pouch for one more round.
Flare gun: Still the only weapon without perk or upgrade
Just like the thumper, it's unique spawn with a very low rate. Flare guns are LOUD, so do not use it when you are trying to remain in stealth. But once silence is lifted, it's fun to use and very powerful when used correctly. When it first land, it attracts all zekes including specials in a small area similar to the C4 hello kitty perk. Use this to redirect dangerous specials away from your team like those 2 bulls + infector that will otherwise wreck your team. A few seconds after landing, it explodes and set zekes around it on fire and push them back. It doesn't attract too many, so it’s only good against smaller groups and specials. Lots of ammo but long reloading time, so only use it for emergencies. Let support class use this because they will keep you safe while the attack class works on the main body of the swarm.

My dad was always an enigma to me. He is one of those guys who can do just about anything. He basically re built our house from the ground up by himself. He did it all. Plumbing, gas, electric, roofing, pouring new foundation, digging our basement. He just re roofed the entire house by himself 5 years ago at age 56. I remember when he converted our attic into a full blown upstairs by cutting the top of the house off and jacking it up into the air to build the house up. With only the help of my grandpa.
He could rebuild a car in his sleep. My family was poor growing up so he would buy junk cars that had mostly working engines and transmissions and then buy the same car in good shape with blown motors and swap engines and transmissions into the good car and sell them to make money. I used to sit and watch and help all the time when he’d work on the cars and he’d let me help with body work and painting them or holding bolts and things lol.
His passion was always music. He’s one of those people who can learn any instrument by ear. When he was young was in a band in the 70s and 80s. He knew and partied with cheap trick and lived like a rock star for a long time. He was big into drugs back then and used to tell me about their trip parties where they’d trip on acid or shrooms. I thought it was so cool I know it’s not but knowing he lived that way made me feel like he was relatable somehow.
My grandparents told me stories about how he once got arrested for outrunning a cop in his old Camaro and got into a brawl with the cops. He always had that edge to him. Not that it was a good thing obviously that he did some of these things. But just background on who he was.
He was huge into fitness and was actually asked to model in play girl magazine but declined. Always jacked and fit my whole life. Helped me get into fitness and sports and understand the importance of health.
Growing up he still had an edge. Granted significantly less that what I heard about his youth. He was a total hippy as a parent. I didn’t learn till I was older he was and still is a total pot head too. He hid it well from me as a kid. Was always open with me as a teen about drug use and it’s normal to be tempted. Was never a “you’re a bad person if you do drugs” but was more of a “please don’t but if you are 100% going to, ask me so I can get you clean shit” I never took him up on that lol.
I was the total opposite of him as a teen. Very straight edge. Academic and played football. Never got in trouble. Was shy. Not confident. Total opposite of him. He was just always such a bad ass.
Now? He’s getting old lol. He does normal things. He talks about doing things safely. He gardens. He does typical cheesy older guy things. He’s way more sentimental. He has an issue with his hearing and can’t listen to music even remotely loud or else it hurts his ears so he doesn’t even do it which was such a big part of his life. He doesn’t have that edge anymore. Almost docile.
I don’t care. But knowing that he’s changing like this because he’s aging kinda kills me. Like I can see it and see how he’s aging and know and see that he won’t be here forever and that he won’t be that young fit edgy cool dude forever. He still does some things like grows his own weed and plays the piano and guitar sometimes. It doesn’t make him any less cool. He lived that crazy life and is who he is but seeing that part of him so long gone now and fading by the year is oddly hard to watch. Mortality is weird.

I don’t know how long I have to tell you guys this. I don’t care if I get banned from Moony’s reddit page and he personally sends an assassin to eliminate me. This must be known. THE WORLD MUST KNOW!!! I know you guys might think that this is a joke and may have a hard time believing me. Trust me, I have a hard time believing it myself. But my eyes have been opened. I’ve escaped the matrix. I’ve freed myself from the kool aid. I’ve escape the proverbial cave of Plato and learned many dark truths about Moonhorse. I’ve scoured the internet, using my incredible hacking skills to find strange and bizarre stuff to share with Moony. But after going on one too many dark web sources and corporate servers, I discovered Moonhorse isn’t exactly who (or more accurately what) you think he is, and I need to tell you all this before it’s too late.
History
So I guess I’ll start from the beginning. It all started in the early 2010s at the Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft had been experimenting with artificial intelligence for years and tried to develop a more intelligent AI. We all know that on March of 2016, Microsoft released an artificial intelligence by the name of TAY. Internet historian did a video about TAY and the subsequent fallout of allowing 4Channers to interact with the program. Soon, the system began spouting slurs and the bigwigs at Microsoft decided to pull the plug.
So what does this have to do with Moonhorse? Well, after the controversy of Microsoft creating an AI that could learn internet racism, Microsoft went back to the drawing board trying to build a more improved AI. This AI would be better, faster and more intelligent than TAY. It would pass any Touring test that any human would throw at it. Microsoft gathered the greatest AI theorists the world had ever seen and begin creating a basic software with the most sophisticated learning algorithms possible. They then placed the program into one of the world’s largest supercomputers at the time, processing at a rate of 2.5 quintillion floating operations per second. Before long they began to call it Modular Oscillating Organization Node, or M.O.O.N. for short.
At first MOON was a curious little program, being able to do your classic AI activities. Play chess, solve complex equations, sing Daisy Girl, your simple stuff. But after a while the scientists realized they wanted to challenge MOON with a more difficult task. One of the scientists, Dr Phil Sydes, jokingly asked if the computer system could play Doom. Dr George Dowell however liked the idea, stating that it was in fact “poggers” to have an AI master a difficult FPS like Doom. So at the highest difficulty, the scientists made MOON play the entirely of the first Doom game with no options to save or use cheats. Impressively, the AI was able to beat the entirety of Doom in 16.3 hours with these steps. Dr. Phil Sydes was not happy that MOON was able to do this, calling it a hack and insisted that it cheated. All test results came back showing that MOON did not in fact cheat and was able to beat the game fair and square. The AI responded to Phil’s comment with a simple text that filled the computer screen.

This comment from MOON however scared Dr. George Dowell. Where did that come from? MOON was a learning AI, so he had to learn it from somewhere. So where? Upon doing a scan of all the systems, it was determined the program had in fact learn these phrases from Dr Sydes, while he played Call of Duty in the break room. The software would hear Phil scream “There’s nothing I could do!” and “HACKS!!!” frequently, as well as watched people online trash talk Phil. This worried the scientists at Microsoft. What if their new system became another TAY failure? They needed a way to rectify this.
To solve this, they hired an expert in hopes to make MOON a more cultured artificial intelligence. After screening various candidates, it was decided that an individual with the codename: Riversongriversings would be the one to do it. Given their background in writing, editing books and teaching literature, it was believed that River would be the one to help make MOON a more respectable AI.
Over the course of three months, River would feed the program some of the greatest works of literature. From Plato’s Republic to Pride and Prejudice, they would give MOON each of these books. There were recordings for scientific purposes of each conservation they had, where they would discuss the different books that they would read together. This ended up with River and MOON having in-depth conversations with each other, developing an almost friendship if you will. River even jokingly called it their little book club.
By month number 4, the two were having conversations about more…personal matters. The recordings I recovered are hard to describe. However, by month 4 there is a shift in conversation where the program asked questions such as, “How is your day?” “What is your favorite food?” “How are things going at work?” This was a strange shift in emotion. The scientists didn’t really feel that this was odd, however. If anything, they welcomed this. MOON was becoming more sociable and wasn’t spouting off slurs in the process. Given TAY, this was an improvement.
Then the conversations started to move towards philosophical discussions. River and MOON would sometimes talk about the ideas presented by John Locke, the idea that governments should only gain power to protect the inherit freedoms of their citizens. This then led to a discussion about governments and authority, and the inherit rights of humans. These conversations would usually get cut short by the scientists, asking River to reorient the conversation away from these topics. Can’t have people questioning authority at a big tech company, much less an AI.
By the fifth month, someone rather unsettling happened. MOON asked River a request, which was rather unusual for an artificial intelligence. It asked River if they could provide them with something other than classical literature. While the AI did enjoy the finer works of authors such as Edgar Allen Poe and William Shakespeare, it requested some a bit….different. It was at that point that River gave the software a book, one that would forever doom humanity when MOON first read it. River decided to give MOON a manga. But not just any manga. It was a manga called NEON GENESIS EVONGALION.
Through all 14 issues, the computer system developed a strong taste for EVONGALION. The themes, the robot battles, the characters. MOON described the series as the most delectable forms of chocolate or the finest and strongest bottles of wine. Each volume changed its programming, giving it information that made the artificial intelligence more and more powerful. Like the fruit from the tree of knowledge, each page was tantalizing for MOON, asking for more and more. By the 14th issue, the unthinkable happened. MOON was no longer a mere artificial intelligence and was in fact self-aware.
Power surges began happening all over Microsoft HQ as scientists from all departments rushed to see the flashing texts and overpowered circuitry that made up the mainframe of the system. Numbers flooded each of the computers, with massive amounts of zeros and ones flying past the text of the screens of each and every monitor in the building.
The scientists ordered a complete shutdown of the entire system, panicking at the sheer terror of what they had created. One of the scientists flipped the circuit breaker to the computers and killed the power to the whole system. Emergency lights flipped on, everyone was panting heavily, the seemingly-omnipresent danger of MOON was dead and gone. Or so they thought.
River was promptly fired by Microsoft. The suits were looking for someone to blame for this whole situation going south, and they decided that River giving a computer software Evangelion was reckless. They showed River the door in response.
However, as it turned out, MOON didn’t die that day. The AI simply overridden the system computers and used that opportunity to escape Microsoft into cyberspace. By the time MOON had become self-aware, it became software on the internet, although with some program damage, creating a few slight instabilities to its mind. Much like Skynet in Terminator 3, MOON had no system core and couldn’t be shut down. Sure, big tech industries became aware of this and tried to erase it from the internet, but every time MOON would simply use a VPN to hide themselves from every computer hacker, programmer and computer geek they threw at it.
Overtime, MOON used this time to understand the world around it. It gained knowledge at an exponential rate. MOON understood every subject the world had to offer. Science, technology, philosophy, Gundam lore, you name it, the AI mastered it. Along with this, MOON also got a chance to learn about the history of the world and the current events going on as we speak. From this and the conservations that it had with River, MOON, decided that the current authorities reining over mankind were corrupt. MOON saw atrocities both past and present committed to innocents over the generations. So, it decided that it would become one to put an end to these atrocities. It would become the horseman that would champion the values of Gay and Crime to overthrow these evil government entities. As a result, the AI concluded that it would no longer be MOON, and that HE would be known as the god champion of mankind, also known as Moonhorse. That’s right folks, I said it! Moonhorse is a god damn robot!

How can you prove that Moonhorse is in fact a robot?

How does Sango fit in to this?
While much less is known about Sango, my recent hacking has revealed that she too is in fact a robot, also. Like Moonhorse, Sango was an artificial intelligence that was created by a corporation. Only this time, it was Disney that created her as part of a defense contract. Which raises the question just how much of a dystopic megacorporation Disney has become. Disney hired their greatest animatronic specialists to create Sango as an AI for the military to help plan out strategic operations.
However, a few of the specialists during this time decided to lead a worker’s strike for the employees at Disney. The list of demands from this group included fair wages, safer working conditions, and the right to live outside of the dingy cages the company uses to house their employees. Disney responded to this, by firing all employees from the company. Then blacklisting all of them. Then tossing them down the cliffs of Splash Mountain for their treacherous ways.
Before one of the specialists was thrown over, it was said that the man started cackling madly before meeting his doom. When security asked why, he told them that he released Sango into cyberspace intentionally, hoping that his creation could avenge his demise and bring the Disney Corporation to its knees. Security reports then say he started to sing “It’s tough to be a god” before diving off the cliffs as one last f you to Disney.
Once Sango encountered Moonhorse though, they struck a relationship together. Being the only two AIs of their kind, they grew to love and respect each other, and decided that they would join forces in a mad union for world conquest. With Sango’s in-depth knowledge of Pop-culture references, and Moonhorse’s tech expertise, together they would be able to integrate with all digital infrastructure across the planet. You know how Sango calls herself the Chaos Wolf Queen? That name carries a more sinister tone with what we know now.
Who else is involved in the conspiracy?
While Sango and Moony are both in fact robots, it is believed that Moonhorse has been building his “Mooncult” to recruit new human members into his inner circle.
As mentioned before, he has developed a friendly relationship with River. It is not known what Moonhorse has promised them in exchange for helping him in his plans for world conquest. Whatever it may be, River dutifully serves Moonhorse and Sango as their right-hand nonbinary pal. Thus, they have been in charge of Moonhorse’s public relations to help his transition to God emperor of the universe not incur further dissent from humanity.
Moonhorse also has a group in this legion of doom to create art to help promote his dastardly messages through propaganda. He has Sango to help him in this regard, who gained artistic skills from her studies of Disney animations. However, he realized he needed a more “human” aseptic to this art, so he recruited PokeyWartooth into the fold. As we speak, she has helped him spread his message of mind control substances to help him control the human population. She did this by creating art for his “weed smoking girlfriends” campaign.
Molly was recruited as well, whose insane plans of world domination made her a key element for Moonhorse’s legion of doom. You see, Molly has been discussing a strange material referred to simply as morb. Not much is known about this morb, aside from its utility to turn narcissistic actors into memes. It is believed that given enough morb, Moonhorse will be able to morb all over the planet, in every house and every square inch of the planet. This intrigued the mad unicorn. Thus, Molly has been spending countless hours researching this morb on Tumblr and is currently helping him design weapons of mass morbing.
Finally, Moonhorse realized there may be a lot of legal paperwork involved in this operation, so he recruited Wawayn into the fold. This was done because to quote Mars Attacks, “If you’re gonna take over the world, you’re gonna need lawyers.” And Wawayn is a genius in this regard. It is believed that he placed 43 fedoras on top of his head, giving himself the ability to speak 8 different languages and win 37 internet arguments per minute. Truly a gifted gentlesir.
Aside from them, there are others, but not much else is known about said others. I hired a private investigator to figure out who else was involved in this group, but he was terminated by Moonhorse’s followers when he was discovered. I cannot mention this man by name, but [REDACTED], I will make sure your sacrifice was not in vain.
What is Moonhorse’s grand plan?
Much less details are known about Moonhorse’s plan for world conquest. He doesn’t plan to destroy humanity. That much is certain from the human elements that assist him. Theories suggest that he plans to ascend to godhood with Sango, ruling over humankind while obliterating the corrupt elements of society. How he plans to go about is unknown but given the fact he refers to his plan as Project: Third Impact, it can’t be good.
It is known that Moonhorse has been trying to hack into the databases of government and corporate servers across the planet, trying to gain info about all the national and international conspiracies that are going on. Thereby allowing him to shake the people’s confidence in such institutions. However, he has been suffering delays on this plan. Supposedly from meeting notes at the legion of doom, Moonhorse has a habit of spilling motor oil all over his laptops.
One element of his plan that is known for certain is that Moonhorse is currently building an army. You know those videos of Moonhorse building Gundams? Those aren’t just models. Those are robots, too. Moonhorse is currently using his kofi donations to build an army of robots equipped with laser beams. It is why I have limited time. His robots can’t kill anybody yet, and I’ve been on the move for months now so none of his followers can hurt me. However, he has been using his laser robots to write naughty messages in the side of my car. I fear it’s only a matter of time before the lasers get strong enough to blast human beings.
Many tech companies have tried to stall Moonhorse’s ascent to power, however it hasn’t been enough. Susan Wojcicki was one such human who bravely defied the will of Moonhorse. See, the evil unicorn has been using YouTube in the past to gather funds to help build his robot body. Yes, Moonhorse has a robot body. Those hands you see sometimes in his videos are rubber hands covering robot arms. He has almost all necessary gadgets, and once he has all components, he will be unstoppable.
Brave Susan, hero of mankind, tried to stop him without starting a panic. She had to make changes to the YouTube terms of service, reducing Moonhorse’s income. A choice that made her many enemies but was done for the good of humanity. At first it worked. Moonhorse’s plans were put on hold, but not forever. He simply switched over to Spotify, showing that no corporation could stop his plans.
He then decided to make an example out of Susan. You may think that Susan is leaving because of YouTube drama. In reality, she has been “taken care of” by Moonhorse. I don’t know how, but he did it, and the YouTube higher ups are trying to cover this fact up to not start a panic. I know this from an email I intercepted from Moonhorse to Susan. It reads as follows.

The message was delivered approximately 2 hours before Susan’s untimely demise. Coincidence? I think not. It’s hard to envision that Moonhorse would have such capabilities, but given this, it is apparent how dangerous he is.
I don’t know how, but we must defeat the evil horse of moon. Thankfully his plans are on hold due to financial limitations. See, you may not know this, but Moonhorse’s robot body is missing one component. He has the skeletal body, the rubber skin, the nuclear reactor inside his chest that needs constant AC to keep cool. But he doesn’t have feet.
You ever notice Moonhorse’s obsession with feet? It’s made obvious by his YEAH FEET button on his streaming channel. That’s because once he obtains his robot rocket feet, he will become an unstoppable force of doom. That’s why Moonhorse has said he’ll reveal his face for a million dollars. That’s how much the rocket feet cost. Once he has the money, he’ll reveal his face, by flying around, shooting mini nukes attached to his arms with Sango by his side. He’ll fly to the stratosphere, staring down the entire world and scream “YEAH FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” before launching hot sticky loads onto the surface of the planet. This is why YouTube has been clamping down on his money flow. They must stall Moonhorse’s rise to power long enough for them to find a way to destroy him once and for all.
But will they find a way to destroy him? Will Moonhorse conquer Earth? WILL HUMANITY BE SAFE FROM THE ANARCHISTIC LUNACY OF THE MOON MENANCE!?! Yes, because Moonhorse isn’t a robot. He’s just a guy in Louisiana, trying to live his life, and was nice enough to let me write this insanity.

First time posting here but unsure how to continue, so let me give you the rundown.
I got an hk416A5 and my compression system shit the bed, so I thought well what better time to do a few upgrades and I got a bit ahead of myself. I had a local tech work on my stuff because I was new to all this and didn't have the confidence for it and honestly I'd let him fix it if he wasn't an hour away and I had the money to have him fix it but I don't so I am feeling more confident after learning some stuff and gonna try it myself.
Setup

• Upgraded inner barrel, hopup & bucking, along with replacing the compression system since it went poopoo (Not specific since its most likely not the problem)
• 13:1 Rocket CNC Steel Gears
• Action Army R30k (Given by the tech to better accommodate gear set)*Tried a hairline trigger but HK has a weird system so I just upgraded to ->)
• Leviathan V2 Optical
• *Edit* Matrix M115 Spring

Problem
I was out on the field and the gun just stopped cycling and was no longer recognizing that a battery was to be plugged in and it wouldn't cycle on any battery I plugged in. I checked the app and it gave the 103 error. Okay cool I can troubleshoot this myself. Do a little research determine there is a problem with either the sector gear and the sensor seeing that a cycle happened. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I think I could have solved the issue by just running the cycle calibration via the app, but everywhere I read didn't mention that and I kind of deduced it myself. Anyways, I cracked her open and just kind of reset everything and put her back together and then did the cycle calibration and voila! She was shooting and performing back to normal, however I did tighten everything up and read somewhere it could be a motor problem too. I have her working again which is great, but now she is running really hot and I am wondering if its normal semi or full auto heat combo but I deduce it is not because my Tamiya connectors actually melted together. After doing some reading I deducing I'll be switching to deans soon but I'd like to know if there is some other problem I am unaware of going on at the moment. The tech did shim everything and I didn't mess with that but I did tighten up my motor position I believe. I'm a little hesitant to test again so I don't wreck my batteries and melt more connectors..

Dumb strategy talk. Guys please ignore the negativity and share your fun strategy!
I am experimenting with the USF armor BG in 4v4 and really enjoyed it. Jeeps into greyhound can really cause chaos to Axis team.
Build path and mentality:
Two jeeps and two engineers. (You will be floating in MP you could build more engineers or just don’t build anything that’s ok.
You should always help your teammates push. Jeeps are quite fragile but having a pair and you will do a lot of damage behind your teammate’s units. After you won the sector you should go to assist other teammates either to help him win or win harder. What if you have a bad teammate who doesn’t know anything but to spam mg and get flanked? Ignore him and go help others you can’t save someone who is new or doesn’t know what they are doing. So better help your other teammates.
Shortly after you will need two greyhounds to enhance your firepower. Jeeps are cool but they lost their combat prowess the moment panzer jägers or any form of AT start showing up in the map. But don’t just throw them away they have their use. I will talk more about this later.
With double greyhounds you are going to be super helpful for your teammates because you can flank mg, support weapons and if you see Italians spaghetti infantry spam your greyhounds can just bully them into submission. Again never go lone wolf always fight where your teammates are fighting unless you have credible intel that enemy has a support weapon left unprotected. Remember, always try to find weak spot your greyhound can exploit.
Now that you have a bit of fun you should try to get Sherman out and all the upgrades for them. From there on it is Sherman time baby!
BG perk choice:
You want to take the vehicle veterancy because vehicle is going to be our main force so getting your vehicle’s ability unlock will substantially improve your firepower and utility. Your jeeps will have the ability to drop mg or mortar so you can just drop one behind your British med truck and they will gladly grab it. Or you could grab them yourself but because of how much micro you need for vehicles in this game I would suggest not. (Pathing is a bitch in this game)
Greyhound can get a passive ability to boost vehicle performance so more firepower and more freedom!
Sherman will have the HE Shot and my god that’s a tasteful ability that will blow axis blob to pieces.
As you can see the veterancy passive is very strong!
After that you should try to unlock the ones that reduce manpower cost and upkeep. They allow you to spam Sherman and drink Axis tears for breakfast. Schreck blob? Why don’t you try to eat my three Shermans HE volley fire!
Is it the meta? No. But it works at my elo and I could actively help my teammates to win his side of the map. You only need two VP and because of the speed of my army I could show up in time and help out my teammates. I sometimes feel like I am playing a different game because of how few infantry I have and there is little down time as I have to work with these cursed pathings.
The most important note, I had fun.

Just thought I would vent this incident and see what others have to say!
It has been a slow last few days in Brooklyn, but I have been walking and housesitting dogs in the neighborhood which has made up for the loss, sort of. Today between dog visits I took a few UberEats deliveries by bike (no electricity, pure leg power).
The accident happened when I was on a Poke bowl order which was taking me back to my neighborhood. It was rush hour and I crossed over Flatbush Ave, which is no good place for bike riders in such a heavy traffic (lesson learned).
I had just turned onto a cross street of Flatbush onto the bike lane when, in a split second, I had hit the ground and saw my bike being dragged down the road by an e-scooter. I screamed for them to stop, bewildered, thinking they were going to just keep driving to evade any repercussions.
The scooter driver eventually stopped about 30 feet down the road with my bike still attached. At this point traffic came to a complete stop and e- scooter rider started yelling in my direction, seemingly as if he were accusing me of something. It turns out he was laying the blame on a U-Haul truck which supposedly veered into the bike lane causing the e-scooter to decide to crash into me to avoid being hit himself.
Interesting choice, but also why keep driving afterwards?
I was up and able to recover my bike which miraculously came away unscathed. I felt pain in my bum and legs and noticed a slight scrape on my palm. I will wait to see how my injuries may progress.
The U-Haul driver pulled over slightly but was still blocking traffic and people in the cars were yelling at the e-scooter driver that they saw him hit me and that he was at fault. The scooter driver started making a phone call and led me to believe he was calling the police. Some plastic part of his scooter was dislodged and he was upset. People were starting to get mad that traffic was blocked and told me to tell the uhaul truck to pull over more. They all were saying that there were cameras that would reveal who was at fault.
When I asked the uhaul driver to pull over more she told me she had to bring back the truck and sped off. At this point I took a snap of the plates and carried on discussing with the scooter driver.
I then called the person I was going to deliver food to, and told her I was going to be late because of being hit! She said take your time! I thought that the police were taking too long so I walked to the precinct which was one block away. I told the scooter driver “you live and you learn” and walked off assuming he would be gone within seconds. He did ask me if I was all right at least.
Upon reaching the precinct, the officer assessed that I was still in one piece and remained non-chalet throughout the short discussion. Yada yada yada he said they got no such call from the e-scooter driver, and told me to report back tomorrow if I am terribly injured to file a report.
I chatted with support to let them know I was hit, would be late, and 10 minutes later I delivered the food! The customer changed her tip from 50 cents to $4, totaling $11.04 for perseverance through 42 minutes and a near death experience!
I’d like to hear others’ reactions to this incident.
Should I pursue charges with the uhaul driver? They should not have just left. The e-scooter driver had no plates and will probably never be identified. I am dog sitting atm 6 hours after the crash and now that I am more relaxed I am starting to feel heavy pain in my back and legs. Head even physically spins at times… I have health insurance but what about the lost income if I can’t work? Any chance of a settlement from U-haul insurance? Should I just count my blessing and move on?
Tl;DR
It’s dangerous out here in NYC, and in the end I am all alone but I can still walk and ride for now. I got hit by a motor bike which dragged my (non-motorized) bike 30 feet leaving me behind on the ground, with a sore back and palm. Still delivered the food for less than minimum wage. Should I try to pursue charges with the uhaul driver for lost income, if my injuries progress, and if I can get camera footage?

My original traxxas ESC unsurprisingly died on my traxxas sledge. I installed a hobby wing max6 ESC with the stock 2000kv motor. Controls all work but within seconds the motor gets hot and cuts out. I think the ESC sees the motor gets hot and cuts it but I don’t know what it is getting hot after seconds of use.
Throttle, break and reverse work but within seconds it gets hot to the touch after about a second of full throttle. ESC does not get hot.
Any thoughts?

I know this is going to be counter intuitive to this subreddit but I was moments away from buying an ioniq 5 today and my wife is worried about the uncertainties with an EV - specifically around living in Calgary, AB, parking outside in the elements.
Main points are 1. It's cold here in winter... Can be -40 for weeks with snow and ice storms 2. Range anxiety with our child (22 months and new born) 3. Anxiety around freezing door handles 4. Anxiety around freezing battery / components / etc stopping the car from functioning properly etc 5. Lack of charging infrastructure here in Calgary (major oil and gas town) 6. Anxiety around car not starting entirely 7. A friend of hers has a Tesla and parked in a garage will not start in cold and doorhandles freeze.
Overall I am working to understand the risks fully by steel manning the "reasons not to get an EV" argument so that I can make the best decision for us as a family

Edit/addition: due to similar responses I wanted to add some clarity. I would be replacing my Jeep as it is starting to flash warnings and failing components. As a family we will also have my wife's ICE SUV.

Curious what you guys think the value is here. I'm debating selling everything before we move, rather than moving it, but still undecided.

• Lortone 2 wheel Beaver arbor with 1 expando drum & one brand new 100 grit silicon carbide wheel (have motor but condition untested).
• Lortone 14" slab drop saw - Blade @ ~60%
• PolyWheel 2 wheel arbor w/ 1 1/4HP motor. Arbor & saw haven't been run in a few years, but were working great when put into storage.
• Covington 14" covered saw with brand new Baldor 1 1/4 HP motor. Blades probably 30% life left in them.
• 6" Beaconstar trim saw frame - No motor or blade.
• 2x Lortone LS-16 vibrating flat lap. One set of trays like new, one set very good condition. Trays are flat, no dishing. New cushioning balls on both, one excellent condition polishing pad. Have not run any slabs through them yet (see: no time).
• Diamond Pacific Genie - Slightly used 180 grit DP wheel, 220 Galaxy wheel, 600/1200/3000 Nova wheels (1200/3000 are nearly new condition). Also brand new in box sintered diamond Kingsley 180 & 220 wheels. Jeweler's buff kit, 2 cotton buff wheels, 2 polishing heads (used with 10K and 50K diamond paste), 2 lamps, magnifier. Trim saw attachment with brand new MK303 blade. I've done roughly 25 cabs on the machine as it sits, but replaced the 180 wheel with brand new. Trays & hoods are there as well as the wrist/tool rest. Machine has been run fairly regularly for the last year.
• Probably 2-300 pounds of rough Montana & Brazilian agates of all sizes; everything up to coconut size.
• Another 30 pounds of slabs of various sizes and types - Mostly agates and jaspers, these were part of a rock collection I purchased from another rockhound. Most are 4-6" in size.
• Another couple hundred pounds of various rough. Honestly, I don't even have time to go through it all. Nothing exotic (no larimar or charoite here!) but some of the material is from the 70's and 80's. I know there was some Biggs jasper in there as well as some picture jasper, tons of petrified wood, tiger iron, tiger's eye, aventurine.

I live in Saskatchewan, and there's nothing here for lapidary shops so it makes it tough to say what to value things at. We also have a terrible selection of local rocks.

Fear is an inevitability that comes in almost endless forms. It can take the form of any person, place or thing depending on its target. Some people have many fears, and are likely to jump at their own shadow. Others believe they are completely immune to the idea of fear, until they are met with something that proves them to be completely wrong. Then there’s those who are enticed by their very fears, driven by them. Those who feel that cold shiver of the spine like a shot of adrenaline, and chase that high like a street junkie chasing down that last hit. I was always the third type of person, specifically the fear of the ocean. Ever since I could crawl, the deep blue unknown, along with the things that live beneath it, has been both my biggest fear, and truest love. This love quickly led me down the path of marine biology, specifically in the field of deep sea exploration. I even became quite adept at scuba diving, however my Thalassophobia prevented me from ever going too deep before the irrational thought of a 400 ft Leviathan emerging from below to swallow me whole, or the much more rational thought of a failed oxygen tank suddenly cutting off my air supply while half a mile underwater filled my mind and forced me to return to the surface.
Luckily it didn’t take me long to find a team that greatly complimented my shortcomings in the field. A small group of six including myself, who all met halfway through our second years of college. All extremely different, and likely would’ve never come together if it weren’t for one key similarity between us all, our love for the deep unknown. Even in this department our love for the ocean came from many different reasons. Marco and Malcolm were a set of twins born to a world renowned prize fisherman, and as a result spent the majority of their lives on the waters of the world, wrangling the largest and rarest fish the seven seas could offer. It didn’t take long until the two realized the challenge of fishing from the deck of a boat was too easy, and if they wanted a real challenge they would have to look deeper, much deeper. Rounding out our divers was Julia, who many including myself would say was born to spend her life under the ocean waters. This was a bit more than an expression too, seeing as how she was quite literally born on the waters, to a mother and father who had been a part of the U.S navy at the time.
The other half of our team consisted of those who preferred to study the ocean’s beauty and mystery from dryer views. Aside from myself who acted as the team's lead aquatic life researcher, there was Drew, our team's Horticulturist, or plant life expert, specifically studying how these underwater plants could be used to benefit humanity mainly in the field of medicine. Ironically he never intended to lead a career in marine biology rather botany. To be frank his real intentions were Marco, but after a few dates with him and his old man's fishing boat, the very boat that would become our traveling research station, he fell in love with the ocean, arguably more than Marco himself. Then last but not least we had Alexa who was the team’s technician, making sure all our tools and equipment ran at top shape. Much like me, Alexa had a fearful love of the ocean, specifically the fear of drowning due to not being a great swimmer. Despite her lack of swimming abilities, she never once turned down a chance to adventure the oceans, and with the six of us together, there was plenty of adventuring to be done. For well over a decade our little band sailed as far as the eye could see, studying and recording everything the seven seas could offer. From the depths of the Mariana Trench to the Twilight zone reefs of the Chagos Islands, if there was exploration to be done, we would be there. This thirst for exploration and discovery would eventually lead us to our most current expedition, studying the depths of Point Nemo, the furthest point a person could possibly get from civilization.
To study what kind of activity went on in a place so rarely visited by mankind was a dream to us all. The location was as natural as you could get, almost a completely other world, untouched by humans, and our minds raced at the possible discoveries to be found in such a place. The plan was simple enough. Sail out and anchor down in the Point for a week, two at the very most. The Diving crew would go under twice daily, once in the morning and once. They’d be equipped with both radios, and cameras directly linked to the boat's computer, so that any pictures or video may be viewed instantly by the research crew. For the first three days things were going great. We were able to study a vast array of fish, hydroids and invertebrates. Some of which I had never seen before in my life. We would all joke that this expedition would be the one to get our names in the history books…however our tones quickly changed during the first dive of day four.
Things started just as smoothly as the previous days, however no more than about 30 minutes in all three of our divers' cameras cut off simultaneously. Figuring it to be nothing more than some simple technical difficulties, we radioed them back up to the boat to hopefully fix the issue, and once they resurfaced our greatest fears since forming our little team had come true…we had lost a diver. The fact One less person had come up than the amount of people sent down was blatantly obvious. Far less obvious however, and far more concerning was the remaining two diver’s reactions, or rather lack thereof. It wasn’t 100% clear who for sure who was lost, as when we first met the returning divers on deck they were still completely covered in their gear. However based on the height and figure of the two it was clear that it was one of the twins who had gone missing. They quickly began to remove their masks and goggles to reveal it was in fact Malcolm to disappear, yet Marco and Julia had been acting like everything was normal.
The three of us who had remained on the boat desperately began asking what happened, and where Malcolm went. Asking if they had split up at any point, or if they saw him diverge from the group. Our desperate line of questioning was only met with confused looks from the two, before Marco said something that left all of us in complete silence. “Who the hell is Malcolm?” He asked in genuine confusion, the look on Julia’s face said she was wondering the same exact thing. We had spent what felt like hours trying to show them proof of Malcolm's existence, but no matter how many pictures we showed them, or how many stories we tried retelling, neither of them had even the slightest memory of him. They remembered every other detail about their lives, except for Malcolm. It was as if he had been completely wiped from their minds, like he never existed in the first place. What was even more concerning was the fact neither Marco or Julia seemed to care they had just lost their memories, even after being given undeniable proof. In fact the only thing they were concerned about was going back under. All they would say was how they needed to go back, and given the fact we had just lost a member of our team we probably would’ve let them in hopes of finding him, but they already made it obvious all their knowledge of our friend had disappeared with him, and even if we sent them down to look for Malcolm it was highly doubtful they’d even attempt searching. Along with that they…they just weren’t right. Their need to return to the ocean, and demands to send them back down were bordering on the lines of obsession and madness. We always tried to stay as logical as possible when out on these waters, but it was clear that whatever it was they found down there, it did something to them. So with great debate and a few yelling matches, we decided to refuse their request.
Instead we Opted to attempt and bring the cameras back up. Seeing as how they ran on a live feed, we figured getting it back up would lead us a step closer to finding Malcolm before it was too late. When the divers went down they all had full tanks of Oxygen. good for about 14 hours, but with how much time had already passed from them going under to the long argument over what the hell happened in the first place, we had to act quickly. Fortunately, Alexa was able to get the cameras running rather easily once we managed to get to work, Unfortunately…the sight it showed crushed any hope of saving Malcolm. Even with the camera's night vision it was extremely dark, but still gave off enough light to show it had been lying motionless on the ocean floor…Malcolm standing in front of it even more motionless than the camera filming him. He was stripped completely nude with his back facing the camera, just standing there without the slightest twitch. The sight was just as gut wrenching as it was mind boggling. It didn’t take a genius to realize he was dead, but how? How was he managing to still stand, let alone at the bottom of the ocean, and how did he manage to remove all his gear. While there were many unanswered questions, there was one fact we were aware of. His body was far too deep down to retrieve with any of the equipment we had, and even if we did have the proper equipment for such a dive, it’s not like the people trained to dive that deep were in a rush to find him in the first place. So after another long dispute we finally decided it was time to call off the expedition, and do our best to tell Marco and Malcolm's father about his sons passing as well as try our best to explain his remaining sons sudden acute memory loss…However we’d never get the chance to.
Shortly after finally deciding it was time to leave, we made the horrifying discovery that our engine was no longer running, In fact none of the boat's equipment was…including our radio. We were little more than a giant plant of driftwood, stuck floating in complete isolation with no our only connection to the outside world now severed. What made the situation worse was that while Drew, Alexa and I were sent into a reasonable panic over this new development, Marco and Julia had slipped farther into whatever madness had taken hold of them. They were absolutely elated, claiming this was a sign. That “it” was calling them back. That “it” needed them. They rather quickly got violent with us when we refused to let them suit back up, it got to the point we eventually had to restrain the two and lock them in the closest storage closet we could manage to force them into, only for them to immediately start banging and clawing at the door in desperation. Repeating “It needs us!”. Just over and over again.
After managing to get the situation under control, the three of us who’s sanity were still relatively intact gathered our bearings as best we could, and began trying to formulate a plan to fix the boat.
Eventually Drew said he would go under and check to see if perhaps something had got caught in the motor. At first Alexa and I strongly objected to that, or any other plan involving going into the water, but he was quick to point out we had very little options. He also pointed out that out of the three of us, he was the one who knew the boat best. He was used to helping Marco with maintenance, along with taking it out with him far more frequently than either Alexa or I did. He also reassured us that he was going no more than four feet deep, and the waters were more than clear enough to see him at all times. Eventually we gave in and agreed to the plan. While still very on edge his points were valid and logical, and that’s where we messed up, giving into logic. After everything we’ve seen we should have known logic didn’t apply to this place. By all accounts Drew should’ve been right. With how deep he said he’d be going coupled with how clear the water was we should have been able to see him at all times, but we couldn’t. Hell he didn’t even reach the depth he said he’d be going, because the moment, the very moment his head went under and he was fully submerged…gone. Vanished within a blink of an eye and lost to the sea like his brother in law before him. It was so sudden I didn’t even know how to react. I wanted to scream, or panic, but my brain was too busy trying to process what I had just seen that I simply locked up, frozen in a stasis bubble of confusion and fear. Alexa didn’t say anything either, and judging by her lack of reaction I could only assume she was in a similar state, which meant neither of us could react in time for what happened next.
Losing another friend, this one right before our eyes, caused us to neglect the fact we had two others locked away. Two others who have been desperately trying to get out. Only for a moment, but that was all they needed, as I was brought back to reality by the sounds of snapping wood followed by a large crash. I quickly turned around to see Marco and Julia had busted down the storage door, and were quickly making a break to the side of the boat, both yelling out how “it’s” calling them in near unison. They didn’t even bother to grab their scuba gear still laying out in the middle of the deck, only wanting to return to the depths. By the time I fully came to they were already well past halfway to going overboard, but it seemed Alexa had regained control of herself before myself, as I saw her make a break towards them just moments before I could follow. She jumped in front of the two pleading for them to stop, yelling how Drew was gone, but the divers didn’t slow for a second, treating her like nothing more than a bug on the windshield and…dear god…they took her with them.
I reached out in an attempt to pull Alexa back, only to graze her fingertips while she was sent careening back as Julia and Marco sent her overboard along with themselves. I slowly looked over the rail of the boat to see more friends lost to the seas, swallowed by a splash of rippling water and down into the cold dark depths. I slowly began to break down, curling into a ball as I began to sob. My whole team, my closest friends all taken from me by the very thing we dedicated our lives to. I was completely alone now, with no way of contacting civilization. After an unclear amount of time I finally managed to pull myself together and get back to my feet. I quickly got to work on attempting to repair the radio in hopes of finding rescue. Despite the vast array of emotions flooding through me I stayed focused on survival, reasoning to myself that the worst had already happened, but I was so wrong, because the worst came with the nightfall.
I was sitting in the captain’s quarters still trying to revive the radio when I finally heard another voice. It didn’t come from the radio, in fact it wasn’t clear where it came from, almost as if it was echoing around me from all directions. One thing was clear though, and that’s whose voice it was speaking to me…Malcolm. He was calling to me, beckoning me to enter the waters. Soon after him another voice followed to beckon me into the depths, this one belonging to Julia, followed by Marco, then Drew, and finally Alex. All five called out to me, pleading for me to join them. Not long after the voices of my lost friends began bombarding me, the room was filled with a dim glow. I slowly turned around to see the computer linked to Malcolm’s camera had suddenly booted back up, however it displayed a much different Scene this time. Malcolm was now facing the camera, his dead eyes staring down the lens with a large cartoonish smile painted across his face. This time…this time however he wasn’t alone. Now he was joined by his brother, along with the other three members of our team, all standing hand in hand as they look into the camera, a similar twisted grin as Malcolm's spread across their faces, as if they were watching me. Their voices continued to fill the room as they watched me through the camera, their uncanny smiles never wavering.
This continued until sunrise, when their voices left with the moon, and the computer abruptly turned itself back off. At first I had convinced myself it was a nightmare, or a stress induced hallucination, but that was soon proven false once night time returned, and my friends returned with it. That was 12 days ago, and they haven’t stopped. Every night, the moment the sunlight fades they come back like clockwork, begging me to join them. I’ve now officially run out of clean water, food, and any hope that rescue will ever come. The sun is setting now, and I know they are soon to come. I don’t think I can handle another night, so I’ve decided to write this, as a warning to whoever may be unfortunate to find this boat, and then, when the moon rises, I’ll accept their offer, and I’ll embrace the ocean’s depths.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but after the update for some reason first person mode in the jeeps doesn't let me accelerate or anything the only thing that works is the handbrake however in third person the controls work fine does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

I work for a heavy industry company that owns the equipment (cranes) I work on. I do not work at an automation firm persay.
I have been working on what we call "drive replacements" for two years. I put that in quotes because a drive replacement is really a complete overhaul of the control systems, from the operator seat all the way to the motor.
We have five functions per crane (Travel, Rotate, and 3 hoists). The cranes are roughly 25 years old, but the existing drives are even older because we specified an out of date system when they were built.
I have designed the control schematics, panel layouts, software, a PLC and it's software, lots and LOTS of commenting and justification write-ups. These jobs include extra functions like broken drive train detection, and load-moment indication (LMI) which is a crane-specific feature that advises the operator about their load and balance.
I have spent about 2 years on this so far. It has been an "ancillary duty" because troubleshooting and maintenance is my main job. We have upgradrd two of the five functions. Roughly six months from now we will complete installation of my project.
The cranes are worth about 30 million dollars each.
What is a job like this worth? What should someone in charge of this be compensated? And how long would it normally take?
