Honeywell pro series thermostat th4110u2005 manual
Possible Thermostat Issue
2023.06.04 14:18 TonyEllis0522 Possible Thermostat Issue
Hello!
I had a new thermostat installed last August or September when I upgraded my A/C and furnace unit. We moved in last June. They installed a Honeywell Home T6 Pro (Non-WiFi). I’ve been noticing that if I set the temp to 73 or below, once it reaches 73 (or whatever temp it is set to) it runs constantly. If it’s set to 74, it’ll shut down once at 74. It is set on AUTO mode. This is for when the A/C has been operating. Any ideas why this may be happening? Thanks!!

2023 Season 3 Release Notes [Pre-Release Version]
This is the iRacing 2023 Season 3 Release! This release contains both content and upgrades for 2023 Season 3, which officially starts on June 12th! This season update includes three new cars: Cadillac V-Series.R GTP, Ligier JS P320, and Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). iRacing also expands its track offerings to include MotorLand Aragón (7 configs) and Willow Springs International Raceway, as well as a new 2023 Cup config for Chicago Street Course.

- - - Renault Clio R.S. V
- Some New Damage Model system code has been reorganized to make future development easier.
Auto Fuel
- Spotters and Team Members may now control their driver's Auto Fuel state.
Spotter
- The iRacing Spotter System has received some updates to help make it more accurate and dynamic. It is now better able to read Race Control events as they occur on the track, and a variety of new Spotter Calls have been added:
- - - Car in Front/Behind is Pitting
- - - Faster Car Approaching
- - - Gaining/Losing the car in front
- - - Leader Change
- - - Leader Lap Time
- - - Leader is Lapping You
- - - Session New Fastest Lap
- - - Your Personal Best Lap Time
- - - Time Remaining in Session 20/10/5 Minutes
- - - Settings for these new messages have been added to the “[SPCC]” section of the “app.ini” file.
- - - - - These messages will only play if “Chattiness” is set to MEDIUM or HIGH, and they are turned on in the “app.ini” file, which they are by default.
- A new “Silence” function has been added for the Spotter.
- - - In the Sound Options Menu, users can bind a key press that will interrupt and stop any current spotter message and temporarily disable future messages for a short duration. The duration of the hush may be adjusted via the “hushDuration” variable in the “app.ini” file, found in the “[SPCC]” section.
- “Leader Car” calls now returns the leader car in the same class as the player car. This means all spotter messages pertaining to the leader will now reference the leader in the same class as the player, instead of the outright leader.
- - - Messages include:
- - - - - Leader is pitting now
- - - - - Leader is at Start/Finish
- - - - - You're catching the leader
- - - - - One lap to win (if you are the leader car)
- Both Italian spotter packs have been updated and improved!
- - - Many thanks to Renzo A. Olivieri and Marco Arcidiacono!
- The Race Laps remaining spotter message logic has been updated.
- Fixed an issue with the fuel spotter calls when the pit entry location was dramatically different from the Start/Finish line location.
Graphics
- A new Graphics Option has been added: Hide Cockpit Obstructions.
- - - This option hides several visually obstructive elements from the world, including: Halo, A-Pillar, and Rock Screen.
- Vehicles that utilize the New Damage model have had their car model format adjusted to reduce video memory demands.
- Improved the accuracy of steering angles for viewing your opponents’ cars’ wheels.
- Adjust brake light exposure on some cars to try to prevent them from turning white when viewed from a distance.
- Updated the system which processes the hiding and displaying of halos for Replays.
- GGX blended dirt texture shaders have been improved.
- SpeedTree lighting has been updated.
- The graphics Option for SpeedTree self-shadowing has been removed.
- - - The visual benefits were minimal and the processing needs were demanding.
- Tooltips have been added for SSAO parameters.
- A new SDK for SpeedTree has been integrated.
- Fixed an issue where the reverse and unseen sides of some SpeedTree faces were being rendered, wasting processing time.
- Fixed an issue where distortion particles were not rendering properly unless they were inside the car.
- Fixed an issue where motion blur would trigger whenever the garage was visited.
- Fixed an issue where motion blur was appearing at different amounts on different parts of the same car.
3D Foliage System
- A new environmental graphics feature option has been added to the graphics options menu: Foliage!
- - - The new Foliage system procedurally generates 3D foliage of an appropriate biome type at specified tracks. Foliage may include grasses, shrubs, boulders, cacti, flowers, and other small environmental assets. 3D foliage has no impact on driving or physics, but should decorate the world much more realistically.
- - - In the Graphics Options menu, there are several levels of detail that may be selected for use by the 3D Foliage System which can customize your visual experience and your rendering performance. You may also select to disable the system entirely.
- - - With this release, only Willow Springs International Raceway has been seeded by the new 3D Foliage system so far, but Mother Nature always finds a way to spread!
Visual Effects
- Lighting for particle effects has been improved.
- The PopcornFX SDK has been updated to the latest version.
Audio
- Audio Hot Swap support has been added to iRacing!
- - - Forgot to plug in your headset before the race starts? iRacing now detects your device when it's plugged in, even during a race. If you've selected "System Default" from the sound options, audio automatically moves to the new device when the default changes. If you have selected a specific audio endpoint, it activates once it's available.
- - - Runtime audio device switching is now supported. When the default device is selected, a new default device can be chosen in Windows, and the Simulator will use the new device. If a specific device is selected, it will be used in the Simulator when it is activated in Windows.
- - - - - disableWindowsCoreAudio=0 When enabled (1), this option disables any Windows Core Audio integration (native windows audio).
- - - - - disableAudioDeviceChangedEvents=0 When enabled (1), this option disables dynamic audio device changing.
- - - Please note: Audio Hot Swapping is enabled by default.
- A new Audio Options setting has been added which allows you to assign a System Communication Default Device.
- A new audio option, “ambientMusicDisabled”, has been added to the “app.ini” file.
- - - 0 is the default value. Setting this parameter to 1 will disable all environment music that is normally played over the PA system while in the Simulation.
- Dynamic brake sounds have been rebalanced.
- Audio for load transmission on a variety of cars has been improved.
- The engine audio for all Pace Cars has been adjusted and optimized.
Environment
- New color and texture variations have been added for a variety of parked vehicles found around the tracks.
Interface
- Enhanced the right-click pop-up menus on the Session/Replay screen, and the Driving screen, to provide the option for private messaging (PM-ing) an individual user, the current driver of a car, or a car's entire Team (which includes a driver's spotters/crew in non-team sessions).
- - - Existing Admin/Race Control operations applied to a car that would have PM-ed someone on the team have been updated to message the whole team, instead of just one team member.
- - - Manually PM-ing a car number using "/#N", with N being the displayed car number, including leading zeros if shown, will now PM the whole team.
- - - To PM just the team member that's currently driving the car, use "/#N@" (add the @ symbol immediately after the car number). If the team's car is in its pit stall but the driver has gotten out of the car, that user is still PM-ed. If the team's car is not even in the world, no PM is sent when attempting to message its current driver, and you will be informed of this.
- - - - - To prevent receiving duplicate messages, if you would receive a chat message you sent because the target includes you (you're on the target team, you're the target team's driver, or you're talking to yourself!), you only receive the message due to being associated with the target of the message. That is, the message is not separately echoed directly back to you.
- - - You can continue to manually PM an individual using the existing mechanism of specifying their name after the "/".
- Text chat responses to Race Control Admin commands now identify the targeted entry with the team name and car number, instead of the name of the driver. In non-driver-swap events, the “team name” is the driver's name.
- An option for the units selection has been updated to “English (USA)” for clarity.
Camera
- A new highest option level, “Ultra”, has been added for Motion Blur.
- Fixed an issue with Driver View Pitch/Roll chassis effects so that when the view is locked to the horizon the car can now roll farther without the camera following the position of the car. This should help reduce motion sickness in VR if you use this feature.
- Fixed an issue for whenever a car’s center-of-mass left the camera frame, all motion blur on the car was lost.
- Fixed an issue where the focus of the camera was getting unwanted motion blur for cockpit cameras.
- Fixed an issue with motion blur on cars when using multiple displays.
Controls
- The automatic parking brake that holds a car still when you come to a stop will now fully apply itself anytime the car comes to a stop, rather than waiting for the user to hold the brake pedal down once stopped. This should help prevent cars from accidentally rolling away when you come to a quick stop but fail to fully engage the brake pedal.
- The Reset Button now prevents users from putting you into the car if your steering wheel needs assignment. Doing this now will take you to the Controls Wizard and allow you to assign and calibrate your driving controls.
- The test for XInput devices has been simplified.
- Fixed an issue that could cause some joysticks to fail to calibrate properly if the previous calibration was similar enough to the new calibration.
- Fixed an issue in the Options screen where the inputs (shifter, wheel, etc) would not respond if a button was held down on a wheel.
Force Feedback
- When calibrating a wheel, iRacing now checks that your selected maximum wheel angle and Force Feedback status match what we expect based on your detected hardware. A notification will appear if these do not match.
- - - This is an effort to detect common errors with certain wheels, either that do not have the correct drivers installed or that have a maximum wheel angle set to a very low value by default. If you receive this notification, or need help setting up your racing wheel, please reach out to Customer Support.
- iRacing will now try to automatically detect your racing wheel’s maximum force, and adjust the wheel force slider accordingly. This is used to help us safely and automatically calculate the force levels to send to your wheel. We can't always know how your wheel is set up, so this may be an overestimate of your maximum force level. This is the safer guess, but in some instances it may limit how strong of a force you can request from the simulation. In those cases you can turn off the “auto-mode” and manually set your wheel’s peak value, if known.
- Improved the force auto tune button so that it takes the wheels maximum force into account. This will lighten up the auto tune as the wheel force increases.
- - - There is a new scaling parameter in the “app.ini” file, “autoForceFactor”. This value defaults to 0.5, and allows you to adjust the aggressiveness of the reduction. Setting “[Force Feedback] autoForceFactor=1” will remove all reduction, giving you a 1:1 force output. Setting it to 0 will effectively always give you 6 Nm of peak force at the wheel. Any value in between will blend between these two extremes. The default value of 0.5 should be a good value for most users.
- A mappable button (Ctrl-A) has been added to apply the Auto Force adjustment found in the F9 Black Box.
- For the Auto Force Feedback peak force detection, data collected when the car is out of control will now be suppressed. Also, data collection will be paused for several seconds immediately after an incident. The goal is to make this system more stable and consistent, even if you wreck.
- For Force Feedback, a safety check has been added to detect if the wheel jumped in position (ie: we lost/gained communication with the wheel). If a communication interruption is detected, Force Feedback will be suppressed momentarily for safety.
- A new slew rate limiter filter that is controlled via the smoothing slider is now available in the Force Feedback options tab.
- - - This filter limits the rate of change of the force feedback signal so your wheel can't accelerate beyond a fixed value. In essence it smooths out the large jolts while leaving the rest of the signal alone. A value of 25% will have almost no impact on your regular driving, while softenting out curb or wall impacts, and a value of 75% will smooth out most rumble strips and make curb hits almost invisible. If you find that you have to turn down the FFB forces below the level you would like because the jolts from curbs or accidents are too large, then try turning this filter up instead. Try a value of 50% to start, and turn it down to 25% if you feel it is too much.
- - - - - You can go back to the old boxcar filter via the “[Force Feedback] smoothingFilterType=1” entry in the “app.ini” file.
Replays
- Chat messages and incident point accruement are now saved and viewable with Replays.
- Fixed an issue where custom Paint Schemes were not appearing on AI Drivers in Replays.
Telemetry
- Live brake line pressure (LFbrakeLinePress) has now been zeroed out and will no longer show a value.
- - - Disk based brake line pressure is still available (LFbrakeLinePress), and now has any ripple from the abs modulation included in its value.
- - - A new BrakeABSCutPct value has been added to the disk based telemetry that shows the percent of brake force reduction being applied by the ABS system.
- Driver suit, body, face, and helmet type ids have been added to the session string.
Official iRacing Sporting Code
- A variety of updates have been made to the Official iRacing Sporting Code, including:
- - - A new section 6.8.3. has been added which describes the correct behavior for Starting from Pits.
- - - Restructured the paragraphs describing Rolling Starts for improved clarity for both Oval and Road racing.
- - - Better explained how multiclass cars grid, and defined what starts a multiclass race.
- - - License Class images have been updated.
- - - Identified that Joker Laps may not be used for time-based competitions at Rallycross Tracks.
- - - A reminder has been added that it is unacceptable for suspended or restricted Members to use alternate accounts.
- - - Identified that nefarious tactics may also not be used during Races, and removed a poor example of nefarious behavior.

2023.06.03 20:02 ctibu Ecobee causing condenser short cycling
Hey everyone, this is my first summer with an ecobee - EB-STATE5P-01 Smart Thermostat Pro w/ Voice Control. Winter went well no issues with the furnace. When operating the AC, the condensing unit compressor will run for about 60seconds and then shut off again. And it will repeat this cycle while maintaining the fans running. I set the setpoint for 25C but it would never achieve it as the compressor would keep shutting off prematurely. I checked the minimum run time which was set for 5 minutes but it would still short itself and never achieve setpoint. To further confirm it was an ecobee issue I installed the original Thermostat which is just a plain Honeywell on off switch essentially and the ac ran with zero issues so I know for certain it is not my compressor that is failing. Any thoughts?

2023.06.02 21:22 danh_ptown Fan On with Thermostat Off and Not calling for Fan or cool/Heat
New Carrier traditional split system with Heat strips for backup heat (New England USA). System was installed last fall with a Honeywell Pro thermostat. A week or so ago, Tenant called me and claimed that the fan is ON but the thermostat is set completely OFF. He even sent me a pic of the thermostat showing all off.
In addition, he later contacted me that the electric bill is 4-5x normal for this time of year. He sent me the electric company's history and it backs up his claim. I instructed him to turn off the circuit breaker until the tech arrives. Tech got it running again and claimed to have tweaked it to run better. He acknowledged nothing about energy usage or what he did.
The timing of everything coincides with following a service visit late April, when the system was completely offline due to a clogged drainpipe.
What might have caused the system to operate in this way? I cannot imagine that the fan would draw that much electricity, even if it ran 24/7 for a month.

Hey guys replacing our old thermostat with a newer honeywell t6 pro z-wave thermostat. My question is since the old one has an O terminal and the new one has an O/B terminal, are they just the same? Please respond fast, it's starting to get hot in here lol

2023.06.02 12:22 nilss2 Do we still have options for pocketable ICL camera's?
TLDR: I would like to have a pocketable ICL camera so I can use manual lenses on the go. Possibly I would invest in a new lens ecosystem so I could use them on bigger cameras, too, when required, and for video.
- I come from Fujifilm but their cameras are not small at all, even though in the beginning they were a trendsetter in mirrorless. Their T, H and S line are as big as DSLRs. The E line is not much better. I cannot find anymore the A-series or the older M1, but I'm not sure I would go that way if it turns out Fujifilm actually abandoned those form factors.
- M43 cameras have a smaller sensor but the bodies are not comparatively smaller, they are the same size as Fujifilm cameras even though those are APS-C, and the top-of-line M43 cameras even hit full-frame territory. I could only find the 6 year old Panasonic GX880 as a small camera, maybe the PEN-line but that seems already big.
- Canon has their M100 and M200 which seems pocketable, but unfortunately their M-mount lenses cannot be used on their bigger R-mount cameras (for video) and vice versa, so it seems like a wasted investment. And the future of the M line remains to be seen. I don't like their muddy approach.
- Sony's A6600 etc. seems on the edge of pocketable. It looks like the most pragmatic solution.
What am I missing?
I could as well go again for a pocketable superzoom with video capabilities and stick with Pentax DSLRs for the 'real photo sessions'.
Background story:
Two decades ago I started photography a hobby while doing astrophotography on film. To this day I use my Chinon CM-5 with Pentax K-mount. I got some small Canon travel zooms afterwards, and a lot of my best work (except astrophotography) is on those for a simple reason: they were always in my pocket. I also got very good results on film but only when I took that camera with me.
Thinking I would need to move to a DSLR I bought about 7 years ago a Pentax K30 so I could use my manual Pentax-K primes from my film camera. And I could, but you can only focus them through live view, so I figured a mirrorless + adapter would be better. I bought a Fujifilm X-T2 then, and also did professional photoshoots with it. Great camera, but it's really beaten up and the otherwise excellent kit lens broke. I have no other expensive Fujifilm glass. Now that I no longer have a reason to stay with Fuji, I was looking at alternatives, taking into account a few things I learned:
- I like to take my camera everywhere. I now shoot mainlywith my Pixel 6 pro and the main sensor is great, but the telephoto leaves to be desired. But:
- The Fujifilm X-T2 is too big. It's as big as DSLRs even from Pentax. Even my 35mm (=full frame!) film camera is smaller. How is that possible?
- Fujifilm is expensive and quite elitist. I'd like to avoid in the future.
- I wear glasses and always use the screen, no EVF. Most of the time I shoot from the hip so I flip the screen up. For film I do use an OVF of course, but those are much larger and more comfortable. For me the EVF just wastes space.
- I absolutely love manual focus. This whole thing with 'fastest autofocus' is bollocks. F8 and be there and prefocus is what I do. Maybe I'll switch to manual lenses only.
- I'm not a videographer but recording videos is something people often ask of me. I'm hence looking for a hybrid solution.
- If not for video, Pentax actually makes great cameras. Upgrading my K-30 is definitely a possibility looking at all the features on new bodies not to mention astrophotography.
Preferably I would have a super compact pocketable interchangeable lens camera with great JPEG quality to use with a fast pancake manual prime lens and then use that lens (and others) also on a bigger more capable body. To my dismay, small ICLs have all but disappeared? (see list above). If so, I could as will stick with Pentax as 'big' camera to use sometimes and a compact fixed-lens pocket camera to carry everywhere and also do video.

2023.06.02 00:39 jacknikedisamotracia "what do you mean by functioning?" someone asked few time ago, but in the meanwhile i was banned for 2 days 🤦 so i couldn't answer. now maybe it's been deleted i don't find anymore...
anyway, as a person that previously commented under older posts: about functioning as a key to understand when it's the right moment to start tapering functioning as the sign that my trt was my right journey... but it can be translated in your personal context as well, that "doing a certain thing" is beneficial for your heal.
(i point my TRT just because, as i don't remember almost any username, rather than images, i expect it could be the same for a large part of the other users on this social... and healing while taking a steroid is an unusual thing; - i don't feel special, - neither need to celebrate this month,
considering that now it's an ideology rather than a condition that belongs to medical topic, for the trans part.
- and as it wasn't enough ive been BANNED for hate speech because i said literally "those who haven't dysphoria towards sexual features are CIS whatever pronouns they use" (something similar, now it's removed and the post wich i was commenting probably deleted, banning the OP as well! i would bet.) cis it's not an insult, as you all see.
but this goes of topic, i just needed to vent a bit because it's unfair, moderation is largely hyjacked and depends on the number of reports, and usually automated. and this is my first post, so you'll swallow my bile acid in the place of my analyst 😌🤝)
so, going back IN topic, what is MY definition of funtioning? i started being functional in life when i started being the protagonist of my life, this isn't a direct symphtom of schizo, it's rather disconnection due to dysphoria, BUT being "inside my body", in turn, thanks to the work with the analyst, helped me recognizing delusion and discarding them as real. to help this process (if you have persecution's mania, thats what i had), whenever it happens, my line of thought is "how many possibilities there are that a real person would do it? especially, either spending a lot in technologies, or spending a lot in studying it in order to mock me/ share my personal information and make people who walks under my street's home, or around in the town, gossip about me, recognizing me? and if there is a possibility (a stalker, a great criminal) what is their motive? the conclusion is always that there isn't. so, this is for the "delusion/paranoia" 's part. for what concerns auditory hallucination (my other main symphtom), i was putted on risperidone, and then olanzapine, after my last recovery in the psychward. i have a bit of holes in all the story, but shortly, february 2022, i started a man dose of testosterone. and this slowly improved itself, so in march i started tapering. my personal way of proving myself that voices aren't real is focusing on real sound around me, going near the window and open it, and stay there for a while, constantly focusing in external real sound. often, i neither hear real people near the house, at best there are kids playing in the garden after 2 houses. and they clearly can't talk about me, but even if they were, i couldn't logically distinguish their words.
not functioning: either under antipsychotic or after quitting them as they weren't mandatory anymore, since 2018 i can see, in hindsight, that: i worked, but my detach from my body and my mind (maybe i have also a context of hypogonadism in both thyroid and sexual axis so it's always tricky to blame only one disease, rather than a series of coincidences) made me slow, less focused, "brain fogged", with a shorter attention span, with a weaker ability of will, ( i struggled to don't let other's opinion condition my own action and even opinion). these factors, together with the voices and persecution paranoia symphtoms, (they were louder and frequent some times, and some other times less, but constantly present), obviously made my ability to work (therefore autonomy, money), to relationate with others, and even to learn something, in general, a slower and harder process. i always had contracts such little period of substitution, fixed term, obvioulsy, also not schizo people have the same contracts, the same struggle, but then, 1) they get quicker more easily as they learn. i struggled to learn, and it was a big lack of ability. as they have accumulated some experience, bosses usually delay the end of the fixed contract, and l, after years, maybe they would obtain an indefinite one. so, they were open to put trust in me, if i demonstrate to deserve it. ... i had a lot of these mini-contract, and for some reason i always ended discarded, without a call: the contract ended and i was no more an employee. no delay of the end of contract.
IN SHORT, non-functioning :
- detachement from reality
- brain fog
- shorter attention span
- weaker willness (conditioned from others)
- poorer ability to learn/ inability to go quicker in manual activity.
- poorer income (from 0 to 300. i started seeing 600 when i did deliveroo, but it's a lie because of taxes and fuel: net, it's at least a half) and this is my personal objective criteria
these factors, together with voices relapses and persecution paranoia, were the perfect recipe to not be autonomous, to reach my personal goals in life.
so, what is functioning? as i started seeing the masculinizating changes, i started being more active both in gym that at work, this could be explained with the chemical properity of testosterone... but also more present inside myself, more conscious that i'm not living my life like a first-person videogame. dht (conversion of testo in the body) is known to help with the positive mood (thats why a lot of men on trt aren't aggressive, it's a myth), and this leaded to be less passive and more "pro-active" in making things work as the main protagonist. the fact that i had better progession in the gym, and a human income to buy my own things with the rider work and sometimes cleaning service, created together a virtuous circle. in the meanwhile, i think in march, i started tapering olanzapine, also because i noticed it let me sleep too much (12h) and i needed to go working for a cleaning service that started early in the morning... i lowered the dose by 2,5 a month. when it became too small of a dose, i preferred to take it only when needed, instead of counting days (eod, every 2 days...) yesterday i took again a 2,5mg after months, because staying at home (i had a crash and i need a new moped, plus, i had a surgery and i couldn't workout... ) without a "mission" to complete, creates a great hole for voices to introduce themselves again... and i was struggling to fall asleep. at least the ban has been beneficial because i couldn't comment on reddit, and therefore voices hadn't the pretence to mock me... my personal objective criteria to define my "functioning" is the fact ive been able to learn the map of my city, to learn how my works "work", and as a result, the better income, the less average time spent to deliver an order (that is calculated from the app)... because i used my own time instead of let it passing me by. i ALWAYS need an objective criteria to compare, because while was in worst condition i was swimming in symphtoms and i couldn't recognize my problems. don't trust nobody, neither yourself: find something that attaches you to reality.
... idk if it can be helpful for someone. it took me a lot to write, and at least i didn't do an angry post or comment under the sub where i've been reported UNFAIRLY.. because it would've lead to another ban 🫡 ehm i din't do... not for now 😁🤗

2023.06.01 15:45 MushII-65 Watch recommendation for at sea/extreme conditions
Hi everyone, I am looking to get myself a new watch to use while at sea. I have pretty small wrists (roughly 16.5cm/6.5") and up until now I have been making do with a silicon-oil filled F-91W which I dont plan to let go of anytime soon but I have been running into a couple problems/nitpicks.
TLDR: This is the list of requirements that I have in mind Req:
- Time viewable at glance with polarized sunglasses (other features can be on LCD or hard to read etc)
- Alarm(s)
- hourly chime/timer
- Does not rely on smartphone for functions
- 2+ features from the list below to justify the upgrade (so for example 2100 series is not something I am considering)
- WR10 ATM (20 would be better but 10 is acceptable)
- Below 400€ (preferably around 300)
- The Smaller the better
- Batter life = multiple years (longer is always better but I mainly want to exclude smartwatches that need to be charged frequently)
- Backlight (pretty sure almost all G-shocks have it but putting it in just in case)
- No shiny metal
Preferred features:
- Stopwatch and/or timer
- Tide/Moon phase
- Sunset/Sunrise
- Compass
- Solar charging
- Low temperature resistance
- GPS (time sync)
--Viewability: The most important thing is that I often have to wear polarised sunglasses which can make it hard to get the time at a quick glance. I think that the best option is to go with a analog/digital or pure analog watch as I dont know of any LCD watches that are not finicky with polarized glasses (new MIP displays possibly solve this but I could not find a definitive answer).
I use the alarm, stopwatch, and hourly chime very frequently so those are almost a must.
--Rant about accuracy: One of the reasons I initially wanted to upgrade watches is when I realised that the timekeeping is not always accurate. Granted the usual <1spd of my F-91W is in its own right quite incredible but precision is quite important for my current job also tend to have some fairly large temperature differences which my watch is not always happy about.
I dont often have internet to re-callibrate so I dove into the HAQ rabbithole. I ended up concluding that I needed it to be a ThermoCompensated crystal as (so far as I understand it) high frequency crystals do not necessarily come with this feature. However finding a TC HAQ with the minimum reqs that I listed above is either very expensive or does not exist (as far as I could find)
Radio or Atomic sync is not a viable option as I wont often be in range of the broadcasting towers.
Using a smartphone link is not an option as I often will not have internet connection to update the time accurately. (also dont often have a smartphone on me)
GPS time sync is one of the options I considered. Could not find anything that seemed to fit my list but maybe I overlooked some options.
--
I decided to drop the issue of accuracy for the time being and focus on other features. (for now i simply use a GPS signal to sync my watch manually at least every couple of days, more frequently if possible. Its not ideal but I am happy to keep doing it for the time being.)
--What I have looked at: Gulfmasters: GN-1000 series, GWN-1000 series (Even though i have no use for the waveceptor its not like I am against it, just not very useful most of the time)
Rangeman: Has LCD granted but still considering it
MudmasteGravitymaster: Worried they will be too big and tide/moon is definitely preferred over compass
GBX-100: Even though it has connectivity, the location for tide, moon, and sunrise/sunset can either be chosen in the app or manually programmed. Just worried about visibility with polarized glasses so if someone is willing to comment about their experience that would be great.
Pro Trek: PRT-B50/70 Seems to have a lot of features I dont have much use for (alti, step count, fish lol,) and am worried about needing to use with smartphone for full functionality
G-Squad: GBD-H1000, GSW-H1000. Have no use for health/sports functions, worried about battery life, seems to require smartphone for a lot of the features.
SINNING:
Timex Expedition North: Does not seem to have either alarm, chime, timer, or stopwatch which is a dealbreaker for me.
The perfect watch probably doesnt exist so I am of course going to need to compromise (most likely on size haha). I am open to reconsider on most of the things I stated above so feel free to try and convince me. I realise that what I am asking for is very very specific but any kind of input would be highly appreciated!!

2023.06.01 14:35 handofjupiter Ac didn't work for a day - confused
Hi all, looking for some advice. Thanks a ton in advance.
Yesterday morning, I found that my central AC seemed like it had stopped running overnight. The house was noticeably warmer than usual and thermostat was reading 8 degrees higher than the set point, despite being on Cool mode.
I followed some of the normal troubleshooting options: checking breaker voltage, reseating external disconnect, reseating thermostat faceplate, checking condenser unit visually. Nothing really seemed amiss to me. I suppose there is a small amount of buildup of dust on the condenser unit body filter, but not so much that I would think would be an issue. The fan on the AC simply would not budge or start spinning with any extra help. AC continued to sit there "broken" all day as house climbed to 85 inside.
Until this morning when I woke up and apparently the AC kicked back on again overnight because the house is cooled and the fan is spinning once again. Now, I am way more confused because I was expecting to potentially have to replace the capacitor inside the unit.
The house I am living in was built about 3 years ago, so the AC is pretty new. There is very little debris inside it and no signs of damage. I live in the midwest US and the weather has been mostly sunny with no precipitation and temp range from 60s up to mid 80s in recent days. Never had issues running AC before. The AC is still under warranty and I have a service tech scheduled to look at it this afternoon. I feel like it might be fruitless to have the company come out and show them a functioning AC unit.
Does anyone have any ideas why my AC would be "broken" all day, and then kick on by itself overnight?
AC is York LX Series Split System - 13.0 SEER - R410-A Thermostat is Honeywell T4

2023.06.01 01:09 ChummusJunky Am I crazy or is my installer talking out of his butt
I have a Bosch ids 2.0 heat pump. Until recently I we had the Bosch thermostat but it was just horrible so the installers came over today and installed the Honeywell T6 Pro TH6320WFT2003.
So what's the issue? I know that my system has two stages for heat and cool, I think it's called variable speeds. With the Bosch thermostat, it would show you which stage is running, 1 was "slowest" fan speed, 2 was faster and then finally aux would kick in if needed. (I'm a noob)
I made sure to ask the installer multiple times that he is setting it up correctly so that it can control when stage 1 and 2 kick in. At first he kept saying "you only have one compressor" and he didn't understand what I meant by the stages.
He then claimed that this thermostat doesn't control that variable speed and even showed me there's no setting for it. Now granted there's no available setting for it, but I'm 100% convinced it's because it was not hooked up correctly and that's why it's not coming up.
Right now, when the heat pump kicks on it goes straight to stage 2. Also, on the box for the thermostat it literally says 3 heat / 2 cool heat pump.
Before I call the installers again, just need to make sure I'm not making this shit up, and that I should indeed be able to control the stages and that it shouldn't kick in stage 2 right away?
Thanks.
