get out is not just a fine horror movie. it's not just scary and thrilling and heart-pounding. it doesn't just have great, distinctive characters and an original concept. it isn't even just about anti-black racism.
what makes get out such a perfect movie is its POV, and its dedication to theme. the armitage family is not merely racist in the way that your stereotypical american "redneck" family would be characterised as racist. they prey on black bodies in a very specific fashion. they're jealous of black bodies. they desire black bodies. not as slaves or workers, but to inhabit them. they think they can do better with black bodies than black people. even jim, the blind gallery owner, who fancies himself more enlightened than the armitages because he's not racist, covets chris's body (specifically his eyes) and sees himself as entitled to it. rose, who stands up for chris at every opportunity throughout the first two acts, turns out to just enjoy fucking - and fucking over - black men.
when you hear the title, and learn that it's a movie about anti-black racism set in the milieu of a rich, WASPy white family home, you assume that at some point, a white person will yell "get out" at a black person. but that isn't what happens. a black man tells another black man to get out; to save himself. a moment of black solidarity gives the film its title, not white rage.
the movie is not about "racism". what a boring movie that would be! it's a movie about white entitlement and predation of black bodies; of jealousy and bitterness and superiority, all from people who don't see themselves as hateful because their hate has been mixed up with need. dean armitage isn't lying when he says he would have voted for obama a third time. that's what makes him so creepy.
when i think of theme, i sometimes think of craig mazin's "central dramatic argument", but i also think of get out. i think of specificity of point of view. if you have a story to tell, and theme is important to the story, make sure you know what your POV is. john hodgman likes to say "specificity is the soul of narrative" and - though he's usually referring to little details in long, ponderous stories (as is his style) - that applies very strongly to theme. so dig deep, find the essential truth that only you can share, and keep coming back to that as you tell your story. scratching the surface isn't enough. drill, baby, drill.

Enochian Chess is a chess variant created by the Order of the Golden Dawn in the 1800's and is based on earlier 4-player chess variants played on a regular 8-by-8 board, such as Chaturanga for 4 Players. It can theoretically be played on a regular board, but the king and bishop (see below for details) of each army start on the same corner space.
It was used in occult practices and seems pretty interesting to play. Each army (it can be played with 4 players, one for each army, or theoretically with 2 armies per player) has 9 pieces arranged in a 2-by-4 area including each corner, and the only reason that doesn't break the laws of math is because of 2 pieces on each corner space. For each army, the long row on each edge is occupied by 5 unique pieces, and the other long row is occupied by 4 pawns, each promoting to another of the piece it starts in relative front of, excluding the king.

King (K): As usual (royal and to any adjacent space) but no castling, occupies the same space as the bishop
Bishop (B): As usual (diagonal slider), the pawn-of-bishop starts in front of it, one of 2 piece types capable of a concourse, occupies the same space as the king
Queen/Alibaba (AD): A more direct equivalent to the elephant (A for alfil, the latter coming from the definitive/genitive of the Arabic word for elephant) from Chaturanga (Indian Chess, the oldest known variant) and similar variants, this leaps exactly 2 spaces diagonally or orthogonally, to the knight as the bishop is to the rook in terms of distance, color-bound and able to go to just 16 spaces each, also capable of a concourse, the pawn-of-queen starts in front of it (in general, I would call this the Admiral because of the Ralph Betza notation)
Knight (N): As usual (leaps to the nearest 8-at-most non-adjacent spaces), the pawn-of-knight starts in front of it
Rook (R): As usual (orthogonal slider) but no castling, the pawn-of-rook starts in front of it
Pawns (P;X): Mostly as usual (forward stepper, directly for passive moves and diagonally to capture), these do not double-step and only promote if at least one of them as previously been captured, and instead of promoting to whatever unique piece the king starts next to (depending on the variant), they each promote to the non-king and non-pawn piece they started in relative front of, hence resulting in all of them technically being unique pieces ('X' here refers to the piece it promotes to)

Concourse: A special capture method which can occur in any of five 2-by-2 regions including the central one and the 4 distinct diagonally adjacent 2-by-2 regions (i.e. the ones adjacent to both each corner and the edges that meet there), either type of color-bound piece (so bishops and queens are capable but only against their own type), but only pieces of 1 type at a time, can capture all of the others by going into it if the others are unlucky to also be inside it. This is borrowed from Chaturanga for 4 Players, but with different pieces

As for potential subvariants that, in occult practice, could be used in syncretism, and in general it is possible to combine it with other variants or make larger versions. While context is highly important, new ideas can still be implemented, whether in magick or writing.

It's worth noting that Enochian, a supposedly magickal language created by John Dee and Edward Kelly, and also used for Enochian Chess, by itself disproves the notion that it's of antediluvian origin due to the following:
the inclusion of certain digraphs, especially "sh", a relatively recent convention at the time (derived from a compound consonant sounding something like 'shkh', which still occurs in Swedish, and I highly doubt that Dee and Kelly had that in mind), and the possibility that 'ch', 'ph', and 'th' sound like their English versions instead of their Classical Latin versions
the fact that C/c and G/g are apparently supposed to be like in English instead of like in Archaic and Classical Latin and also Gaelic and Welsh languages like what would make sense in an ancient language, but it could be argued that the two got that wrong, similar to its apparent use of X/x as equivalent to 'gs' (if going by earlier linguistics, it could be argued that X/x would be the one sounding like 's' while S/s would some like English "sh", making the "sch" interpretation of 'sh' being the more reasonable interpretation)
the inclusion of bits of obvious English and Latin influence here and there, the most obvious evidence
If Enochian was based on an earlier language, its actual spelling would be different, c/p/th would imply breathiness, C and G would have 1 sound each while X and S are the opposite of what one would expect (based on some languages, such as Catalan and Maltese) from one another, 'sh' would sound like modern Swedish 'sj', and "londoh" and "luciftias" either being made up or their original versions having different and unrelated meanings to the British version.

This maybe a stupid question but why is there such less metion or importance of the oxus region in the rigveda or even in avesta , even though they supposedly spend a LOT of time there , also the oxus river is mentioned very less if at all considering it is the largest river in central asia . Also is it only me or all features of the early rigvedic Saraswati river seems to be similar to the Oxus river /Vakshu it starts in the ice mountains and is very strong and ends up in the sea , Rather than some retarted river in the mountains of afganistan and when did indo aryans even got to south afganistan, the avestan word for a river tributary of helmand is similar to Saraswati but they could very well be reusing old names. Is the oxus river or tributaries mentioned in the avesta and giving any importance because manypeople place thr region of ariyanam vejha in that area if that is the case shouldn't the Oxus be byfar the most important river to both indo aryans and iranians.
I don't think people realise how important this question is , if we don't find any river sufficiently similar to the early rigvedic saraswati then people will assume it is the one that dried up in 2500-2000Bc infact this is their biggest argument . We know the name of later saraswati was given to the ghagra river as it was mentioned to disappear in the desert in the Mahabharata. I personally think either the oxus or the Sutlej river can be saraswati and the people called the river before the fusion of sutlej and beas rivers sutudri and after the convluence saraswati. I don't see how a river between high mountains and deserts in south afganistan can be the saraswati river on which a lot of the rigveda was composed , and Helmand isn't even called saraswati btw

A pair of leaks have turned up on 4Chan that claim to outline details of Rockstar's forthcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans of the franchise would do well to take these rumors with a grain of salt as there's no way to know for sure if any of these details are accurate. The leaker on 4Chan goes by Rhanadeng and claims to have been a friend of a disgruntled employee working on the game during 2019.
The source claims that this employee allegedly asked him to anonymously leak information about GTA 6. However, things later improved, and he lost contact with the Rockstar team member. One key detail is that this person also claims the game has been in active development since 2016 or 2017, with pre-production starting shortly after GTA V was ported to current generation consoles in 2014. The new GTA VI game world map is also claimed to be the size of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined.
gta v mission One of the odder bits that this 4Chan user details is a minigame where players control a stream of urine from a protagonist using motion controls. On the protagonist front, there are said to be four in the game, including a driver called Walther Wallace and an unnamed former Israeli IDF person. Another, Thomas Branigan, is a smuggler who owns an aircraft called the Raven, and Marcus Burke is a drug dealer and father to a young boy.
The area is said to be based in Florida, with Vice City among the three major cities with one smaller city in the far northwest of the map. The game reportedly jumps around in time with part of the timeline set in the 1980s and other parts set in the present day. Missions aren't as linear as they are in GTA V or RDR2, notes the proclaimed leaker. Players will briefly visit a small central American island, but it's reportedly not Guarma. The game starts with gamers playing the role of smuggler, Branigan.
gta v car Supposedly there are multiple child characters in the game that mainly interact with Burke and his son. Switching between the protagonists isn't said to be instantaneous, but the camera reportedly zooms out and travels quickly to where the protagonist the player wants to play is located. Sleeping Dogs-inspired parkour is involved in the game as well, but to a lesser extent without wall running. The leaker claims that weapons function more realistically in the game than they have in past titles. An example noted is rocket launcher back blast that ends up taking out an NPC in one of the missions, where the goal is to destroy a helicopter.
Hand-to-hand combat is supported and is said to be similar to Red Dead 2, with the leaker noting it's harder to fight hand-to-hand GTA VI than in GTA V. Player characters can also gain weight in the game, and it affects character attributes as it did in RDR2. Mori Kibbutz is also reportedly in the game, but not much else is detailed about his character.
This leak isn't the first that has surfaced about GTA 6. Last December, a user on reddit claiming to be a beta tester, leaked a bunch of alleged details of the game. In January, another leak claimed that the game would launch in 2021.

I've been dating someone for the past 6-7ish months with someone slightly older than me by about a year. We had gotten into a few arguments about a few things ( like the fact she didn't show that much love or affection towards me, i.e hugging, cuddling, kissing ) and a few disagreements or slip ups here and there but after a small break from one another, I had reformed myself into a much better person. I used to feel incredibly suicidal whenever I couldn't see her because of something like school or the roads, but after the break I had improved myself immensely ( i didn't feel suicidal or angry when i couldn't see her ). I thought we were happy, the last time I saw her I had set up a small date night for us. I got her favorite candy, ice cream for us to share, a 2 liter bottle of her favorite mountain dew flavor, stuff like that. She only took the candy and didn't care for the ice cream, and she ended up forgetting the soda. No big deal, right? Wrong. The next day she's acting weirdly socially awkward towards me over text, more awkward than she usually is. I asked her what was up and she said it was nothing, and pressed me on why I asked the question. She had said something like " no? why would you think there's something wrong? " and I had just assumed I was being paranoid or clingy. She also kept on breaking away from our conversations, but she did respond to my ' I love you ' text, and responded with (of course) ' I love you too '. I had assumed she was just busy with something and I went to bed relatively late, and fell asleep around midnight. The next morning I woke up around 8AM, went to my computer and checked my messages. There, in my Discord application, was a half-assed break up message. She stated that my behavior was ' abusive ' and that most of the people she knew (friends, teachers, family members) agreed so. I *have* had some verbal outbursts towards her but they were relatively rare and mostly induced due to the fact I hadn't eaten or if something shitty was going on in my life, but I never struck her. I never tried to intentionally hurt her verbally or physically, and I always offered her support and love every day. She then stated that I would be arrested I wasn't the age I am now due to the fact I had touched her bare chest a few times without her verbal consent. I don't know if I'm the asshole here or not but she never told me not to. The last time I did so I did ask for consent, and she said no. I respected her boundaries and didn't do so, but in her breakup text she stated that I *never* asked if I could, which is false. Going slightly off topic here, my life had practically revolved around her due to the fact she made me happy and kept me going as a human being. Sure, we had our mishaps but I thought we were happy. I was pretty self destructive and sometimes suicidal ( i no longer am as of writing this ) and wasn't very happy with myself, but she kept me going. When she broke up with me, however, she had blocked all forms of communication with me, not giving me a chance to say goodbye to her. We were both happy ( or at least i thought so ), and I had expected a more formal in-person break up, but no. She broke up with me and only provided a few valid points. She called me a narcissist in a small almost tiktok styled video, and displayed the exact opposite of me being narcissistic. She showed me hating on myself, me showing love and gratitude, borderline worship towards her and a few online tests she took regarding if I was emotionally abusive. She never consulted me about this and swept all of the love and support I showed towards her during all the trying times in her life, and broke up with me in the middle of the night without giving me a chance to say goodbye. The day after this I had an emotional breakdown, screaming, crying, wailing for her while I was in the fetal position, shaking on the floor in my parents' room. I went to the emergency room minutes afterwards. My eyes had hurt with sharp pain due to all of the crying, my hands were shaking and twitchy. The doctors calmed me down, and after I think 5ish hours I was discharged from the hospital, not at all caring about her, which is my current state of emotion. I don't know if I'm a dipshit here but my mother is livid towards her and her parents. I know that she loved me and I know that I loved her as well, which is what really breaks my heart here. In the break up message, she stated I hadn't changed which put me on my knees. I know I've changed, I haven't thought about hurting myself since last night. I still don't know if I'm entirely in the right, which is why I posted this here to dump about what's going on with me. I don't want any advice or input about this, I just know that I'm done with her, and I hope she can find someone else she can emotionally ruin.

Basically title but to give it more depth:
You should stop caring about player CA and PA and focus on their development for young players (regardless of PA) and their performances for senior players(regardless of their CA).
I've had Jonas Wind as 5 time player of the year winner in La Liga as a 145 ca/pa player just because i milked all of his attributes properly. I've had 142 central defenders perform better than 180 CA defenders. You should stop looking at the shiny 16+ attributes and ask yourself am i doing this right. Focus on your tactic and how to actually play the game rather then Genie slap 180+ pa players and pray a default 433/4231 works.

I'm creating this post as a response to the frustration I've had with dealing with the astonishing amounts of pro-NATO groupthinking that have flooded Reddit since the start of the war in Ukraine.
Ever since the start of this war, social media has been flooded with unrelenting anti-Russian hatred and pro-NATO propaganda. Comments about Russia and the Russian people often verge on being racist and even genocidal. Any attempt to try to add nuance to the discussion is met with hysterical attacks.
All of this serves the purpose of justifying NATO. The fact that NATO is obviously an institution for American imperialism, through which it maintains military bases across western and central Europe and subordinates the militaries of the countries of these regions to a NATO command structure always headed by an American general, is now mindlessly down-voted into oblivion.
This propaganda also serves to hide the United States' own shameful role in Russia's history. Throughout the 1990s, the Clinton administration and intellectual charlatans like Jeffrey Sachs supported the 'shock therapy' that crashed Russia's economy and destroyed the lives of millions of Russians. Meanwhile, Clinton supported Yeltsin, even as Yeltsin set up fraudulent privatization programs that were designed to ensure that ownership of former Soviet state industries would be concentrated in the hands of a new oligarchy. He supported Yeltsin, even as Yeltsin ordered Russian tanks to fire on the Russian parliament when it disagreed with this privatization plan. And he supported Yeltsin, even as Yeltsin, in violation of Russian law, used his connections with this new oligarchy to control Russian media to win the 1996 election against the communist candidate.
Clinton did all of this because he hoped the new Russian oligarchy could be incorporated into the system of American-dominated international capitalism, allowing American capitalists to economically control Russia. The result was a system of hyper-concentrated economic power in which Putin mediates between these different oligarchs, dominates Russian media and uses nationalist anger to control the Russian workers.
But confronting this truth would require understanding the imperialist nature of American power - and how the exercise of that power routinely blows up in our faces. So instead, western liberals have conjured up pseudo-scientific and quasi-racist theories about the inherently 'authoritarian' nature of the Russian 'spirit' to explain why the Russian parliamentarianism of the 1990s failed. Of course, if Russians are 'inherently authoritarian,' this necessitates NATO as a permanent bulwark against this oriental menace. In the process, western liberals can forget all memories of the fact that the one time in its history that Russia appeared to be developing a semi-stable parliamentary regime, the United States did everything in its power to undermine this regime because it found it insufficiently subservient to the needs of the American-dominated international capitalist order. Instead, the American government decided to invest in Yeltsin as a reliable strongman for capitalism in Russia, only to then see that presidential system accrue to Putin.
The United States and western liberals thus helped create Putin. But because Putin has decided to pursue his own brand of Russian imperialism rather than taking orders from Washington, Russia, including its workers, is now villified as an implacable enemy of the 'civilized west.' Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, we have seen waves of anti-Russian hysteria, including the cancellation of Russian cultural events and even a ludicrous backlash against 'poutine.'
None of this is new. This nationalist hysteria perfectly parallels the anti-German hatred that broke out in 1917 as soon as Woodow Wilson designated Germany as America's new official enemy. Of course, that wave of hatred was then used as a cover for rooting out socialists and communists across the country and breaking radicalist labor unions for their insufficient 'patriotism.'
So always remember - liberals can never be our true allies. A true socialist, as a true internationalist, prepares for a global civil war in which the American, Ukrainian and Russian workers unite to simultaneously defeat the American, Ukrainian and Russian oligarchs. Meanwhile, a liberal pretends to be a friend of the workers, while preparing to demagogue against whatever country his capitalist government designates as the next official enemy.

Hello, I am hoping for some insight and to see if anyone has had a similar experience (hopefully not of being misdiagnosed/neglected but of a slow-growing GBM.)
In July 2022, my mom began noticing some issues with her speech and soon began having partial seizures. In her left frontoparietal region, there was a 2.4 cm (at it's widest) "abnormality" found on her scans that was diagnosed as a stroke. Everything else about the brain appeared completely normal. Differential diagnosis said "possible low-grade neoplasm," but this was never considered, even as her partial seizures became more frequent (up to 30 a day, almost every day) over the next 6 months. Last month, her seizures stopped, but she began having difficulties using her right hand. She reported this, and her neurologist did nothing but tweak her seizure medications. Then this month, she lost complete control of her hand, so another MRI was finally done on March 10th, revealing a ring-enhancing tumor measuring up to 3.7 cm, central necrosis, edema, some mass effect, and slight midline shift (4.5 mm).
She had a gross total resection where no visible tumor was left behind (confirmed by MRI) on March 20th. The only pathology information we received on it is ATRX positive; GFAP positive; IDH1 negative; Ki67 variable, up to 50%; OLIG2 positive; and P53 wild-type. I know what some of these things mean, but no idea on ATRX, OLIG2, and P53 wild-type. (Does anyone have any info please?) MGMT status has been ordered but is not back yet (I am trying not to overthink how important this result will be).
I keep hearing how aggressive GBM is, but I am trying to wrap my head around how my mother was completely neglected as this thing had complete freedom to grow for 8 months, yet it only grew 1.3 cm in that time. Has anyone experienced this before? I am also wondering about the "possible low-grade neoplasm" statement from her initial scans, though she does not have the IDH1 mutation unfortunately. Something else is that the report says her tumor samples are "most consistent with Glioblastoma" instead of just saying that it is Glioblastoma, but I am not sure if that is just standard phrasing.
My mom is currently busy being a total rockstar at her in-patient rehab facility, so she gets to leave a week early to begin out-patient therapy. She had hardly any control of her right leg after surgery and could not put any weight on it and can now walk up and down stairs on her own. Her right arm was not moveable whatsoever and was even numb and cold, and normal sensation has returned and she can now move everything but her individual fingers (still working on it). Her speech is still the most affected, but she is extremely alert and able to hold a normal conversation. It just takes longer to get the words out (the tumor was right in between her speech center and motor cortex.)
We will soon be going to MD Anderson to begin her treatment, and MD Anderson stated themselves that they want more testing done on the tumor to find out more about my mom's specific case. I have run the gamut of every possible emotion, but ultimately, I am so proud of my mom's strength and am trying to be similarly strong, like she has always taught me to be. I would appreciate any insight and similar experiences so much. Thank you.

I stayed in a dorm room for three years in highschool, then i switched to renting an apartment and for my first year in college i choose again a dorm room. But my roommates now are a bit difficult. One of them left, so we are three now but one of us left yesterday and is coming back on monday. The one left is who im talking about. She wakes up very early and for a hour or so in our room there s constat bumping walking in amd out the bathroom and on the corridor, drinking coffe lights on and of course after 10 minutes or so i wake up as i cand have a deep sleep anyway. She does this at 7. I wake up at 8 or 9 unless i have something at 8 case in which i wake up at 7 snooze my alarm till like 7 30 then i stay on my phone for like another 10 minutes sound off, get ready and leave at 7 50/8 00. Today i confronted her about this and all she had to say is that i am loud too and that i m looking for arguing. Also the quiet program in the contract is 8am - 10pm. I m gonna switch back ro renting my oun place, i discussed everything with my parents and in a few weeks im gone. Until then i have to stay here and say goodbye to my sleep. It s pretty loud here anyewy as the walls are slim and there are a lot of paety s going on on the above floors. But i can get over some music and a few steps in the hallway. I mentioned the hinghschool dorm because during all those years i had no problems with being woken up or waking up someone and i bumped into an ex roommate who confirmed that everyone got ready quietly in 15 minutes max so everyone could fall back assleep if it happened. Also my current roommate and i have aboided each other for a while because she has a problem that i play pubg and speak to my team and threatened to go to the administration multiple times for "disturbing" her after 11pm one time for saying bye to my team, another timp for opening my nightstand, for going to the bathroom oh and for watching a movie "too violent for her" etc. So i guess im going to the administration?
