I post this with some recent experiences that had me feeling really sad while trying to sit in my role of waiting for the invitation.
I’m in a circle where theres basically very few eligible bachelors, & im romantically attracted to men. New guy comes into the circle, seems to have a flirty vibe with me & ultimately mentions that we should hang before he left a group function. I basically take this as an invitation & seek his contact & ask him to hang(not sure if I did this correctly). He ends up inviting someone else, it becomes a group activity, a few days later im forced to witness them start to get physically intimate at a party & basically leave together. They are now seeing each other.
This was traumatic for many reasons, but one thing that stood out was that I wasn’t actively chasing him other than expressing interest & talking when there was a natural chance because it’s just how I operate (or am supposed to - I think). As much as I believe in things working out the way they should, I still feel unbelievably sad as I’ve had similar experiences in the past. Have I done right by basically not chasing? Should I have put a little more into it? What would you all have done?
More general, but a big romantic fear I have is that I’d be more into someone than they’re into me, which is another reason waiting for an invitation works well for me as it also averts some of that fear. This is a recurring fear, so can reassurance show up in more ways than an invitation?
Any advice/thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I just got cancelled a few days ago from my 1st travel assignment 6 weeks in. I made a sizable move across country over 2,500 miles. I'm fortunate that I am being allowed 2 weeks pay since the hospital cancelled without enough notice which was a breach of contract based on the terms so I was allowed that sum and some residual reimbursements. Unfortunately there aren't any jobs for my specialty currently due to the time of year so I've opted to go staff in the facility where I initially signed with a couple of interviews incoming. I figure I will work for a minimum of 6 months before trying traveling again since going staff here would ultimately establish this location as my new tax home therefore preventing me to be able to travel for some time.
I have been kind of mourning travel nursing for the past few days but have accepted the reality of the situation. It was so nice getting a taste of traveling while I could. I see what a difference traveling makes on burnout. It literally gave me the will to go into work knowing what awaited me in my bank account every Friday and not having to be involved in unit drama nor toxicity since I was an outsider.
It was nice while it lasted. Until we meet again later this year.

Yet another buyer's remorse thread but now trying to look at possible consequences of completely defaulting.
Seems like while I was traveling the world burning up my remaining points from a once succesful pricing arbitrage scheme (and some gifted timeshare points) I ended up being roped in toward the end of the trip and also while at peak travel mania. I was even considering paying cash for one the MGM Signature studios and I now know that was a ridiculous idea to show you the kind of mental state I was. Drugs may have been involved. I didn't realize I would soon be completely out of business and in trouble with the IRS.
I almost blacked it all out as I moved on to the next stop in my vacation, of course letting the recission period pass by.
After it sunk it what I had done (and being the ever bargain hunter I bought something virtually worthless) I have been futilely looking at ways out of it but also in the throes of a severe mental crash and have been barely functional the last few months. And know it's not possible at this point. Have had a few collection calls from the bank but I mostly miss them as they come in too early. The developer has never tried to contact me even though they are not getting paid either.
I never paid a dime on the loan. I blocked the developer from charging my card further.
I am pushing 50 and prior to a brief period of time making an adult income I mostly made just above minimum wage. And I am never going back down that route, and even if ... once my savings run out that will likely be what I am making. That all came to an end and I am pretty unemployed, and not looking. So not just buyer's remorse but where is this money going to come from?
To be honest I am not too concerned about a credit hit. Or maybe I should be.
Had kind of a girlfriend who didn't come along sensed something was wrong and kept pushing me on it so I resisted though I was going to talk about. She eventually dumped me. My first girlfriend since I was 17.
Total baggage for any new relationship should I try again. Also the close family member who gifted me some timeshare points was also hoping to sign it over to me so even that created a rift.
Major hit to my self esteem as I have always been able to resist any sales attempts in the past. Like when they told me if I end up homeless the $299 weekly specials are cheaper than a one bedroom. Damn.
Between that and a near inability to get out of bed while this plays on an endless loop in my head I have let this thing has almost completely ruin my life beyond the usual issues I have seen expressed online. This poor financial choice is somehwat intertwined with an IRS issue, where sloppy / improper accounting and some lost 1099s may have cost me $60-80,000 which has basically contributed to my idea of the total pointlessness of every trying to work again at some low wage McJob.
I did briefly talk to a lawyer in the relevant state - actually a close friend who said maybe not let me see the contract, then haven't heard much back and haven't followed up. All he really said is I may not have to honor the contract if I was intoxicated but left it at that. We didn't really go into the obvious untreated mental illness surrounding all this.
And another concern is this grevious mistake is going to push midnight a few years closer because I have pretty much decided to check out once the money is gone.
Also is there any way I can make a complaint somehwere even specifically against the reps who at least told me they were licensed real estate agents. Like if they misrepresented my income on the loan application in addition to taking advantage of a intoxicated and mentally ill person.
Of course the past few years were a totally mentally tumultous period with a few crashes and I guess this is just one of the consequences.
Trying to think of the positives like I can still vacation in decent places with a kitchen though I really only follow my favorite bands and dependent on public transportation so stuck in major cities and I can also leave my body in one of the units.
Any advice, encouragement, shaming is most appreciated.

Founded in 1970, Theater Ten revived downtown, and provided a safe, fun place for the people of Burningham to enjoy. Unfortunately, over the years, the theater has transformed into a source of anguish. The disappearance of movie-goers of Theater Ten is still fresh in everyone's mind. My sister, Joan is among the twenty-three missing; she attended the screening of Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors with her boyfriend. After Joan disappeared, I couldn't eat or sleep for days. There's a hole in my heart that can't be filled; it's been five years, but it still doesn't feel real. I feel like I’ll get a phone call from Joan, or she’ll pull into my driveway with her beat-up blue station wagon and take me hiking; I miss her every day.
I understand this theater is a historic landmark, and you don't want to demolish it. You either don't understand or don't care that people feel unsafe visiting or working at the theater. Lest we forget about what happened after Theater Ten closed? Several people have survived incidents at Theater Ten, and fortunately, I’ve been able to track down several of them, including a few who were willing to report what they’ve witnessed.
1975: A customer complained the butter dispenser dispensed pus into his popcorn.
1978: A young married couple visited the theater to watch Halloween. The wife got up in the middle of the movie to use the bathroom; she was gone for an hour, and the husband got worried and searched for her. On the way to the bathroom, he brushed past a paunchy woman with swollen, crusted eyes and cheeks stained with yellow vomit. He found his wife in the bathroom
dead—Facedown in a pile of yellow bile.
1979: An employee discovered human fingers in the popcorn machine.
1980: During a sudden blackout, a little girl disappeared from the arcade. Staff discovered her locked inside one of the arcade cabinets, insisting she was sucked into the game.
1982: Several customers complained about bombastic patrons covered in bruises, scabs, and rashes, ruining their movie experience by talking during the film, chucking popcorn at them, and kicking the back of their seats. When asked to stop their obnoxious behavior, they responded by coughing on or scratching them.
1983: An employee went on their smoke break behind the theater and was found headless, cigarette in her hand still lit, body leaning against the brick wall behind her. Even stranger, guests of Theater Ten claimed Cujo cut out, and footage from behind the building played on screen. The footage was a young woman smoking, then two hands emerged from behind her and tore her head off.
1988: A group of teens broke into Theater Ten. According to the witness, this is what happened: “The auditorium smelled like stale vomit. Sores and blisters covered the other patrons. Coughing and sniffling bounced off the walls, and the audience guffawed at the static on the screen. My friends sat down, and the seats snapped shut on them as a Venus flytrap closes on a fly. I felt like I’d pass out, and I couldn’t breathe. The patrons sprang up from their seats and chased me from the theater.”
1989: Two brothers broke into Theater Ten to steal movie posters; while exploring the building, a man in a torn black usher uniform accosted them. According to the witness, this is what the usher looked like: “Yellow ooze leaked from lesions on his cheeks and sores on his lips, blood spilled down from boils on his forehead, black carbuncles were behind his ears.” The usher scratched the other brother during their escape, and he died a few days later.
The disturbing nature of these incidents proves something very wrong is happening, and Theater Ten is not safe for the general public! I’m aware that I’m not the first person to write to you concerning the theater. It’s a source of pain for so many people. Others may not have been as tactful as me. I’m sure you’ve had several letters cross your desk accusing you of accepting bribes or certain favors in exchange for reopening Theater Ten. For everybody’s sake, including your own, this theater must be destroyed!

Im currently studying psychology and im doing an essay about cats and humans and how they interact and behave, brainwaves, magnetic fields, vibrations and all that. I notice that when i smoke near my cat he gets really energetic the lil mf starts jumping all over the place chasing bugs and in general really playful and happy overall, i was thinking of giving him maybe 1 or 2 puffs mouth-to-nose. And record irs reaction. U think its ok to do so? Ik weed is one of the less harmful drugs out there if not the less but still all wild beings must experience their lives as its meant to.

Snowman hunting / snow fort trashing and the like has long been a favorite hobby of mine, particularly on the weekends during the winter months. A number of weeks ago, however, I was vacationing in a warm climate, tried it on someone's sand creation, and got chased away and threatened big time by a really pissed off dad. Failing at the tropical equivalent of this really hurt my confidence and changed me. It especially hurt me on the vacation to get caught as I do have a certain physical insecurity - the combination of a hairy chest and a very apparent receding hairline while running away from a guy who looks like he could whoop me was like icing on the cake. Some degree of an existential crisis has taken place in the absence of this hobby. I hope to fill the void somehow. I was going to hunt snow creations big time after getting home from the ruined trip to try and overcompensate for my failure, but I then waited it out and made a lifestyle change instead.

I took my exam on 3/23, test shut off at 75 questions, and I checked my license status 26 hours later and it said “active”!!!! I did not do the PVT because I was way too nervous.
I graduated in December, 2022 and had a hard time getting my ATT, which caused me to be delayed in taking the exam, so 3/23 was my first time taking it.
I studied for about 4 weeks, using the Ascencia practice question book (it has over 1,000 Q’s, but I only completed about 800), Hurst question bank (got it through my school), and the Mark K lectures. I studied about 3 hours a day for 5 days a week. 80% of that time was me doing practice questions because I heard a lot of people say it was better to focus on answering questions than reviewing content.
I think the BIGGEST thing that helped me was watching NCLEX Crusade International: How to Pass the NCLEX: 7 day training videos on YouTube! Professor Rei explains how to improve on critical thinking and it really opened my eyes on how to work through a lot of the questions! If you do nothing else, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend watching those videos! (If you watched them, then please let me know if you liked them!) They are over an hour each, 6 videos total, going over the main question categories tested on the NCLEX, and how to answer them. I watched all of them in 3 days and I honestly think that saved me. I wish I had found them sooner but I watched them days leading up to the exam. Anyways, if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask! and GOOD LUCK to those taking it soon, you can do it!!!

The Instagram account of UVSS Elections claimed to provide unbiased information, but it was found to include a link to the campaign Instagram account of a candidate running. This raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the impartiality of the election. A truly impartial source of information would not be linked to any candidate's campaign, and the presence of such a link could be seen as providing an unfair advantage to the candidate in question.

In addition, the post in question remained on the UVSS Elections account for over 18 hours during a four-day election period. This delay in removing the post once the conflict of interest was recognized could have given the candidate an unfair advantage during the critical early stages of the election. A timelier response would have been necessary to ensure that the election remained fair and equitable for all candidates. The length of time that the problematic post remained on the UVSS Elections account raises concerns about the effectiveness of oversight and adherence to impartiality in the election process.
The position this candidate is running for is Director of Outreach and University Relations, which I, Matthew Allen Curtis, am also running for and here's what I want to do:
Firstly, I want to create a maker space where all students can let their creativity run wild. This space will be a hub of innovation and hands-on experimentation, where students can create for school or personal projects. It's the perfect place for anyone exploring new ideas and pushing their limits.

Secondly, I want to adopt the Board of Governance Review that the current board received. Adopting these recommendations would make the board focus on governing and less on execution, improving the training for all elected student leaders, establishing a learning culture, and continuous professional development. Hiring a neutral chair to facilitate board meetings will ensure everyone is heard and the rules are enforced.

Thirdly, I want to increase engagement and participation by fixing the General Meetings to the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the semester, making them in-person with online engagement, and introducing semester volunteer positions. These positions will help alleviate the work of the lead directors, create a pathway for future lead directors, and encourage more people to get involved.

Fourthly, I want to create an at-cost food store to help bridge the gap between people who need to use the food bank and those who are food secure. In addition to creating an at-cost food store, I am committed to properly funding the campus food bank. I understand this resource's importance in ensuring everyone has access to food and want to ensure it's fully supported. By creating an at-cost food store, we hope to lower the demand for the food bank and create a more sustainable food security model on campus.

I have been seeing this guy (27) for over 2 years. Recently he told me he doesn’t have a lot of time to talk or hangout, as his life is busy and we are officially friends with benefits.
Come to find out, he told me he’s been interested in another girl and hanging out with her a lot.
Now this is where my past relationship is repeating: there’s another girl, and I still want the sex and the friendship is genuinely solid so I’m sticking around. I don’t have feelings, he doesn’t. Pluto in Aquarius shows us particularly clearly where there is inequality, injustice and lack of freedom. We also live in a collective PLUTOCRACY. Where it is no longer politics that determines what happens. But very powerful corporations. Some of these string pullers in the background are not even known to the public. With Pluto's entry into Aquarius, things will not automatically get better. But the world's focus will shift to these issues. At the end of a hard road, the world should be much fairer, more equal and freer place than it was until the early 2020s.
In the very best case, humanity itself transforms into a cooperative community. Maybe we finally understand that wars do not work. Nd that exchange, communication and solidarity are the better solutions. Perhaps the current crises of Pandemic, Bank Collapse,Energy Crisis, inflation, labor shortage & climate crisis are reason enough to realize that we can achieve more with joint efforts. But we know from psychology that transformation and development can only happen if we look honestly and without blinkers at what is happening right now. As long as we act as if there are no problems or delude ourselves, no transformation can happen.
