Avoiding a wall so tl;Dr
My industry needs specifics. I trained all my guys to repeat repeat repeat. Any detail is off and it compromises the entire sale.
We also do not try & guess when they don’t know what they need because this leads them into thinking it’s correct but it’s usually not the case.
Furthermore, certain orders take a day to process. Also repeatedly explained.
With that said, there will always be customers both large & small that insist their detail was correct and it was our fault it’s wrong. And there’s the ones who say where’s my order & we explain it takes a day to order & you never confirmed. So it will come tomorrow if you place it right now.
Obviously they get heated. They Almost always place the blame on a newer guy but they’ll claim we “always do this”.
It’s bullshit but I’m here to see what you guys do.
I typically push back. My guys will be apologetic to an extent but I think apologizing for a mistake on the customers end is like being in a toxi relationship. If you give in to that they’ll just push harder. So we typically push back & explain “I repeat all my orders, and timeframes, we can playback the audio etc”.
But yea just here for your thoughts. Especially when it comes to good customers. Obviously firing bad customers is a solution but I’ve already gotten rid of those. I just find it harder to deal with the good ones who seem to just be having a rough day or something.

- Steelcase Leap V2. About 7/10 condition I'd say. Pretty clean backrest fabric, as I cleaned it. Literally brand new seat fabric (I reupholstered it with commercial-grade upholstery). I also installed brand-new armpads. Scratches, scuffs, normal signs of use. No mechanical issues. In the second image, there's a Leap V2 seat that I've also reupholstered, but with synthetic leather (Ultrafabrics Brisa). I can install this seat on the chair in place of the fabric seat if you prefer a vinyl seat. $200 for the Leap V2 with either new fabric or new vinyl seat.
- Herman Miller Mirra 1. Fully loaded. About 5 or 6/10 condition I'd say. Everything works. Has forward tilt, rear tilt, butterfly mesh back, adjustable lumbar, fully adjustable armrests. Definitely has worn-out faded armpads. You can replace those with a single screw per armpad. I'm trying to source some replacement OEM armpads and if I do manage to get them, I will sell them at cost. $150 takes it as-is with pictured armpads.
- Herman Miller Embody. Charcoal Medley fabric. 9.5/10 condition. 2020 models, barely any signs of use. $780 takes it.
- WorkPro Quantum 9000 office chair. I'd say 8 or 9/10 condition. These are surprisingly expensive at Office Depot, running $400-500+. They are pretty nice chairs, you can read about them online. $100.
- WorkPro Quantum 9000 office chair, all-mesh version (instead of a padded foam seat). Again 8 or 9/10 condition. $100.
- SitOnIt Wit office chair. 9/10 condition, pretty much like new, and doesn't appear to have been used. Blue fabric seat, mesh back. Even has the original hangtag. $60.
- Kimball Joya office chair. Orange leather seat, mesh back. 9/10 condition, doesn't appear to have been used much if at all. $60.

I keep seeing on here that "Since I am a [insert month] applicant, the fact that I have not heard back from [insert school] most likely means a soft rejection." I know that seats are running out but for many of the schools there are multiple E waves passing by. Does this really mean a soft rejection or do we still have a decent shot? Am I being too optimistic?

I live in the US and was so excited to order from the US Sidemen Clothing Store since they said it would be less shipping cost and get to me sooner. Well that wasn’t the case, everything I have ordered from the UK store had arrived within 4-8 weeks even at a busy time like Christmas. I have ordered 2 hoodies from the US Store around November of 2022 and 1 hoodie more recently. They are still not here and I don’t know what to do because the Sidemen Clothing Customer Support has been awful. I love the Sidemen and I know they take pride in their work but I assume this is just a problem with employees. First off, I ordered 2 hoodies on a Black Friday sale. It said that it would arrive in 6-8 days and that was that. I waited a month and then contacted customer support. They told me it was on back order and that it would be 6-8 weeks and then 6-8 days. I was like what??? That should have been clear on the website and also why would you have a sale on something that is on back order? But then I found out whoever told me that was lying and just trying to come up with an excuse because not long after I got an email that one of the two hoodies was held up at US customs and that was actually why they are late. And that confused me because why would my hoodies be coming from the UK when I ordered them from the US Shop advertised to have quicker shipping? And I asked them why just one of the hoodies would be causing a problem at customs when both were in the same order and they just told me both hoodies would come together because they are from the same order and that the one holding up customs will hold up the other one. I was still confused because why would the specific hoodie hold up at customs? Just cause it’s a different design? For reference I ordered the mint berry color block hoodie and the purple pastel one and then the blue pastel more recently. They told be the color block was the one held up at customs. Well fast forward to last week, about 4 months after I had ordered it and about 2 months after the 6-8 week period they told me to wait for one of the hoodies arrived. That confused me because they said they would arrive together so I assumed it was the blue one I ordered separate… nope it was the mint berry color block that was supposedly held up at customs that should have supposedly been with the purple one as well. Neither of the others are held up at customs but still not here. And what frustrates me the most isn’t the time it’s taken it’s that the customer service has lied to me and literally told me to be patient every time I had a question and never gave me any sort of “sorry it’s taking so long” or “sorry we gave you the wrong excuse on your hoodie situation” they have done everything customer support shouldn’t do and nothing customer support should do. And they keep putting bigger and bigger sales on the hoodies I ordered! In the amount of time it’s been since I ordered them I could have gotten them for less than half of what I paid for them!
Anyways, I love the sidemen boys, I love their clothes, I just hope they fix their store and customer support so I would be willing to buy more from them.

Looking at a career change, from being a mechanic to policing in my area. I’ve had a few not HR or related to policing people in my life say I should stay at my job for another 1-2years before applying. I’ve worked at 4locations in the past 3 years, all similar but some different work experience (automotive to heavy duty to sales)
Would this be a red flag? I was at my 2 employers before this period for 3-4 years each. Don’t want to waste my time but I’m at the point where I’m confident enough to apply minus these comments about my resume and how it will look before they even meet me.
