I've not had a chance to actually write down my thoughts and feelings regarding the journey we've been on. Things have actually been quite crazy, and I honestly can't believe how far we've come. This community deserves the best of homes possible & I strive to provide that goal in every upmost way possible.
It's unbelievable the amount of time that has passed, It almost seems like it was yesterday I was starting the theme on the subreddit. Now we have a fully automatic sticky rotation system, the subreddit CSS recode is underway, our automatic sidebar is rotating every 2 minutes to show off featured creators (With more to be added soon!), and soon a new bluetracker system on the subreddit.
We're at nearly 250,000 followers, 120,000+ members on the discord, we're partnered with Blizzard on the discord, and we just partnered with DiabloBuilds.com I can't be more grateful for all those that have come together to make this a wonderful home.

2023.06.01 21:03 ThrowRAasdfghjl Bored at home… NYC too expensive

I’m 22/F and graduated a year ago from college. I’ve been feeling a bit bored.
I’m commuting to work in NYC and living at home with my parents. All my friends have boyfriends and don’t really want to do fun things. I’m feeling like I need to do something fun and cool while I can, I don’t feel like there’s anything to miss here back home.
I know eventually I’ll want to come back here to be near family, but does anyone have any ideas of what they would do in this situation? I was thinking of moving to a new state but I have to be in NYC for work 2x a week. My company has offices in California and Florida I could try out for a year possibly. I’m planning a couple of trips but I’m limited on PTO and money.
I was thinking of taking a week here and there to work virtually in a new state. I’d have to do it alone which kind of scares me but seems like the only option. I’ve also been trying out new hobbies and went on Bumble BFF for new friends, but I feel like it’s hard to keep up my ideal lifestyle while living in my parents’ house. It’s too expensive in nyc to move out for me right now so I just feel stuck.
Anyone else in this situation?

2023.06.01 21:03 Sea-Serve-5597 I planned this trip…and I’m not enjoying it 😕

We wanted to take one last little getaway before the baby is born. (I’m due in August). I handled the planning. I looked around online for places that were driving distance and juuuuuuust far enough from home to feel like we’re actually still getting away.
I’m glad it’s only a two night thing and we’re going home tomorrow morning because I’m not enjoying it. Food’s great…people are really nice…but that’s where it stops. Unless you’re in your room (which I am now) it’s 100% technology free. To the level of “if you leave your room, your phone stays in it because some of these people will complain if they so much as hear it vibrate”. It’s a spa place, so yeah I get it. You’re here to relax, I knew all of this when I planned it, but as it’s turning out, it’s a level of “relax” that’s way past what I want. I’m soooooo bored. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited to pick up my phone as I am now. Plus I just feel so bad that my husband used vacation days for…this 😓
Now that I have that off my chest, I’m going to go grab some lunch 😩

2023.06.01 21:02 Theflyingchappal Im (21m) scared that I might be becoming dependant on my gf (21f)

I have always been more of a introvert, prefering to be by myself and liking my alone time. However when me and my gf started dating we pratically became inseperable. In the sense that I would be over at her place everyday after university and only leave when I need to go back home to sleep. On the oppsite side of the spectrum however, my gf has alot of friends and a active social life (compared to mine at least) but she still tries to squeeze me into her day no matter how short of time she has me for because she wants to see me everyday. I don't believe im currently codependant on her because I still appreciate the days where I dont see her (usually work or school) and have time to myself or but I feel like Im solely relying on my gf for all social interaction (apart from family and talking to an occasional online friend). At the same time however I dont really feel the need to make new friends, although I would like having more in my life currently, Im far too burnt out mentally to go out and make new friends. My gf is just as reliable on me as I am for her, apart from the occasional night out, she wants to spend every moment with when she can and even went out of her way spend entire days just to sit with me while Im doing schoolwork at my campus (long train ride after work). So its clear that the attention is equally recipocated however I still fear that I might end up relying on her too much as the relationship is still very much new (nearly 5 months). Is this unhealthy?
tldr: Even though me and my gf are find with constantly being around each other, im scared I me be becoming dependant on her since I dont have any friends

2023.06.01 21:02 CorrectOffice2 Came home to find my LL.....in my SHOWER!

I live in a Triplex on the main floor. I have been here for 9 years. I am a single woman (40s). My LL is a bit older, I think 50 something.
Anyway, I came home from work yesterday and I freaked out because someone was in my bathroom. The door was open, water running and I could see someone in there.
As I was going in my purse for my phone to call 911 he yells out, "It's just me, *****!"
He came out in my towel, out of my shower and said, "I apologize for the intrusion. I was working on the sink upstairs and got really dirty"
Like really???????
I was so pissed off and frightened and told him that he is never allowed to come in my apartment and especially not use my shower.
He apologized again then said "Now I know why you always smell so nice" (alluding to my body wash, I guess.)
This isn't the first time this freak has done something so bizarre but this is the worst.
What can/should I do?? Am I overreacting? I feel so violated and creeped out.
By the way, he only lives about 3 blocks from here.

This has been a game changer. Absolutely worth the money.
I will say some cons :
This thing takes forever to do my 1800sq² home.... mainly because of battery life.
1 pass does not mop the floors THAT great if you have alot of dirt. After 1 pass of vacuum+mop I always do 2+ more passes with just mopping mode.... soo it takes a while.
For example we recently did lawn prep for sodding and the dirt on the floors lasted for days. It took probably 3 or 4 days of the robot mop constantly going for hours daily downstairs (until battery runs out..) until the floors looked fairly clean and the dirty water was closer to clear than brown. I ended up doing my upstairs myself just to get the job done.
Dried mud prints can & often need more than 1 pass. Hot water mixed with a tiny drop of Blue Dawn Dishsoap works well (I don't put cleaning solution on my floors.. except vinegar+water every now and then).
The battery life is super annoying to me.
For example, today I started at 100%, it is 2/3s of the way complete downstairs... and already on 58%. I will need to let it charge a bit before doing the 2nd pass downstairs with Mop only.
Charging back to 100% takes 6 hours... soo yeah. This thing takes a while.
However.. you can let this thing go daily and then you yourself just have to mop by hand once a week or biweekly to do a deep clean (this helps to ensure dirty water runs clear).
You can set it to specific spots of the house too (like the high traffic areas) which I often do.
Maintenance. After 1 month if having this thing though, I use it so much that I have a warning to replace the little rotating debris brush within 60some more uses bc theyre worn. I also have a warning to replace the mop pads soon. I had to change out the dirt bag within 4 weeks of use which is normal (and the lawn prep work realllllyyy had a crazy amount of dirt through my home) Other maintenance like wiping dust off sensors or cleaning the dust bin parts happened 2 or 3 times in 4 weeks which wasn't a big deal bc takes a few minutes.
Is it worth it ? For me yes. I can not stand dirty floors and like to have my dirty water run clear. I am constantly outside with my dog and so dirt gets tracked inside daily (despite wiping his paw pads or even hosing them off).
It is so nice waking up and not having the dread of having to do your floors again from the mess the day before.
Also, before the robot, keeping up with the disgusting amount of dog hair under your socks was impossible. Hopeless. Our socks have way less dog hair on them now.
It saves you ALOT of time and energy and stress from having to do your floors constantly.
Newer models should improve -- This usually lands within Top 3 on the market (on Youtube reviews). I got this on sale for $1000.00cad from Costco.

I (F20) have been with my Gf (F22) for a little over a year now. In the beginning of the relationship things were great, I told my partner how I am autistic and have a lot of boundaries. I require a lot of alone time, I don’t always like cuddling or being touched, and I need to have things done a certain way. She agreed that these were perfectly reasonable boundaries, and in the beginning of the relationship she spoiled me. She bought me gifts, did things for me, took me out and was very respectful of my boundaries. Three months into our relationship she asked me to move in with her and her roommate, I agreed because I was going through a lot at home, and I honestly didn’t plan on living with her for too long (which I told her, she has two big dogs and I have cats who had never been around dogs. I don’t like dogs at all, I think they’re big, smelly, and have no sense of personal space). The second I moved in with her things started to go down hill. She started asking me to feed her dogs, I was the only one ever cleaning the house ( I will admit i can be overbearing with cleaning, i HATE dirt. It drives me up the wall), to the point where she would just leave her trash on the counter for me to clean up. She started getting upset when I would look for somewhere else to live, if I didn’t want to cuddle her or talk. She wants to spend 24/7 together to the point where if I go out with my friends we get in an argument. She gets upset if i don’t want her dogs on me, if I don’t want to eat what she cooked, if I want to watch a show without her. I feel so smothered, i’ve tried talking to her about it.. it always ends up with us being in a big fight. She stared working where I work, I have no time away from her. She opened up a credit card with both our names on it without telling me, she wants me to help her pay off all of her credit card debt, and got upset when i said i didn’t want to… the list goes on and on. I’m not perfect, I can be difficult. I have a lot of anxiety and it can upset her because it makes her anxious as well, I just don’t know if this is normal or not. I feel like it’s not, but I don’t know if it’s THAT bad yk? she’s never hit me, or called me names, and she always wants to talk through our issues. I don’t even know what i’m saying.. I'm turning 30 next month, still living at home and single. Have no debt besides my car loan and recently filed for bankruptcy. I have feelings of hopelessness, embarrassment, no confidence, loneliness, anxiety, and depression. I'm on a contract job for 3 months making $35 an hour with just my car to pay which is $452 a month however I have no savings due to the reasons of changing jobs/careers over the years and dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety/ocd/depression/adhd and past trauma from intimate relationships, past jobs such as law enforcement, childhood trauma as well. I feel like a complete failure, not only to myself but to my family and friends and I did not envision my life to be like this at 30, I have goals to have my own house and being happily married with children. In 2020 I (18F) became disabled, my parents thought I was going to die, I on the other hand couldn’t even think. I survived but was left with terrible chronic pain. Anything, from the wrong room temperature to getting out of bed too fast is enough to make my body give up and just fall limp to the ground. Since my parents work tirelessly to afford my treatment they decided to hire a maid to keep the house clean. We’ve had several over the course of three years, which is due to most of them graduating college and moving on to building a career, which is obviously great, but this also makes it difficult to maintain order in the house. Fast forward to two months ago when this new one entered the picture. She (25F) did her job nicely and was very kind at first, but then I noticed things were turning up missing from the pantry and fridge which we brushed off as her having a harmless sweet tooth. However she’s started binge eating our stuff uncontrollably. One might guess she was starving, but the only things she eats are cookies, sweets and everything else with no nutritional value. We’ve been forced to shop more often and she seems to eat more the more food there is! Not only that but she for some reason dislikes my dog. Yesterday she texted my mom upset about my dog having shat himself and having had to wash his bum, which is a stupid lie since my house has a really open floor plan so smells travel fast and not five minutes after I left my dog (who was asleep) alone, she arrived. I heard her going straight to the fridge and then my dog came upstairs perfectly clean and dry.
Now she barely comes to work, asks for more furniture after we gifted her a dining room set to celebrate her new home and asked my parents for more money since she has to “look after” me. The last part really stung, since that happened after she found my disability certificate and not once has my condition given her extra work nor have my parents ever requested she is my caretaker. What is one supposed to do in this situation? If she needed help affording the cost of living we’d help her no questions asked, but she doesn’t, she’s even in the process of remodeling her house!

I have struggled with my weight since I was 10 years old. At 9, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was pulled out of school to help her. I was supposed to be home schooled but that didn’t really happen. I was out for 2 and a half years and fell into a deep depression. Not only was my mother sick, but my grandmother also had dementia, I could never see my friends, and my older. sister got to go to school and do stuff all the time. During this time, I was over eating like crazy to fill the burden of being a 9 year old caretaker and. I’m not 25, in a healthy environment away from my family, and taking care of my body for once. Throughout my teens my mom called my dad fatty #1 and me fatty #2. My mother and older sister have always been so skinny that they would always pick on me for being a little bigger they didn’t dare do that to my dads face, but they were more than happy to do it to mine.

My husband met me as I was exiting the JW life. Poor guy, but he stuck through the storm and helped me so much. (Do always feel guilty about certain things, aka anything related to my paranoia of the JW's) Anyways, that's just the background. None of the stuff makes sense to my husband, doesn't agree, and just helped me wake up to a lot of the truth of my past. He's from a completely different background.
The other day my mom was in the car with us, and we were talking about current events. She kept saying "Well it's all to be expected, it is prophesied, things will only get worse." Not the exact wording, but you guys know the line of thought. My mom then later talks about how the Convention is coming and it's close to our house. She had the energy of you guys can come, but I just drove the conversation in another direction.
When we got home my husband commented on it, and said how depressing it sounds like. Just waiting for doomsday. She said it so casual etc. Expecting the next day to be hard etc. It's like talking to a idk how to call it other than a cult mindset, omg. Maybe it's because I just finished watching a SWAT episode where they go after a cult leader, and saw how brainwashed the member were.
I literally just told him, "Why do you think my depression was so bad for so long?" And it's true. When you are in, it's normal. (ALWAYS hated it, but still normal.) Now as time goes by I see how so many things are just depressing from an outsiders view. The pictures, the talks, the way JW's talk to non JW.
Just needed to get this off my chest. I know many people will understand.
