I have a 2 story 2 bed 2 bath 1,093 sqft townhouse in the valley. Here is my issue: My master bedroom is on the 2nd floor. The bedroom gets SO HOT! It is miserable 😖 🥵. The front of my home, and the master bedroom french doors that walk out on top of my garage face south. As soon as the sun starts coming up this room heats up to such unbearable temps. I am a first time home owner in phoenix and I’m just not sure even where to start to help with my problem. Can anyone point me into the right direction on who/what can help me find a solution? Some more information: -I do have air conditioning and it’s newer (within the last 4 years) It works great downstairs. But upstairs it just can’t cool the room. I did hav an hvac person come last summer bc I thought it was broken due to the heat upstairs; he said the way the air ducts run aren’t doing it in a way to give me enough cool air up there in the first place. I’ve purchased one of those big portable/plug in air conditioners that you keep filled up with water; but it doesn’t even do the job…just really a noisy pain in the butt that I have to keep filling with water every 3 hours in the night if I want to feel the slightest breeze. - I have French doors that take up most of the south facing wall that walk out on top of my garage (I was told when I bought the home your not supposed to go out there it’s not made for that/structurally sound to be used as a porch) I like to open the doors in the eve/ at night for air this time of year. When it’s cooler I will sit on a sturdy part to practice my meditation. I put up a black screen that has a magnetic closing aspect so that my 2 cats can go out to sunbathe/ get some air (monitored by me of course!) -the part you walk out onto is bright white I feel like the way it reflects the bright sun into the door windows may be some of the problem. There is no overhang/overhead shade that may be contributing…but I’m not sure and that would look super odd if there were one (at this point I don’t care if it looks silly if I can find a fix). -I don’t think these door are the most energy efficient. I’m not sure they are like double pane…(I was googling and found they are prob a big part of the heat issue) - in the hot months I have blackout curtains, the door stays closed, I have blinds, and my black mesh magnetic screen as barrier. -I close all unnecessary vents in the hot months to try to get maximum air conditioning air to blow to the vent in the bedroom and it is still not enough to get comfortable. -I do just sleep downstairs sometimes. I work nights some weeks- and have family. It’s very difficult when I do need to sleep in the day, but the main living/cool area is in use. I want to sleep peacefully in my upstairs bedroom: but it’s absolutely miserable and impossible.
Any advice, or direction is SO. Much appreciated!!!

Are you serious!? Yes, I’m late to the party just now watching the series. But is that really how we’re going to end the story from Season 1/2?
The finale of 2 was a waste with this outlier story on the island, what we needed more of was who killed Kieran in prison. Did he make some sort of deal with the killer to take the fall in exchange of him leaving Emma alone? What was “Mr. James”’doing checking into the motel at the end? What about Emma’s dad? We’re just going to leave this all to the imagination?
I’m 20 mins into season 3 and it’s borderline unwatchable, mostly because it’s a letdown that it’s not Emma and the crew.
I’m shocked.

I was reading through Ch 9 of SotG and read this under the Fire action:
"A crewmember Firing from the helm has disadvantage on attack rolls with primary and secondary weapons."
A small ship, as per the rules in Ch 8, normally has a maximum crew size of 1, so the singular crewmember must be at the helm. As per the Firing rule, does this mean that all small ships including every x-wing and TIE fighter have to make their attack rolls when Firing with disadvantage?
Is the understanding that small ships should be exclusively making attacks as part of the Attack Run Helm action, where it negates the normal disadvantage?

Has anyone else had to renew their contents insurance lately? I'm with State, have been for 20 years and also have my vehicle insurance with them. My policy renewal for my Contents policy arrived in the mail today and the premium due is over 62% more than last year (after years of either staying the same or decreasing due to no claims for all the time I've been with them).
After not finding any info on their customer web portal I rang them and waited on hold for 32 minutes. Then I got someone who was hard to understand due to very compressed audio but also English not being their first language. They listed multiple reasons why it may have gone up including
'increase in sum insured'
'inflation'
'GST'
'the area you live in' (this was before getting my details).
I said that the sum insured had increased by 1%, inflation by maybe 7%, GST is the same as last year and I've lived here for 20 years so the area should have no bearing. She repeated everything, maybe three times with increasing impatience before realising that I wasn't giving up that easily. She then told me they'd been getting lots of calls of this nature and they'd been given a list of things to read to the client.
I said that it wasn't good enough, the things she listed nowhere near accounted for the huge rise in cost and I'd like to speak to the person who wrote the list. Of course that didn't happen but she did then get my policy number and details and said she'd speak to her superior...
Another 25 minutes on hold later and she came back to me, speaking in a lot more friendly manner and said that she'd been told that the premium increase was due to 'rising crime rates' and 'weather related claims'. I told her that I hadn't been affected by crime with regard to my house contents (and had made no claims) and that I didn't live on a flood-plain or unstable hillside...
To no avail. It was obvious that this is where the conversation was ending so I told her I had a month to pay my premium and I'd shop around in that time. (But I likely won't, I have 20 years history with no claims with State after all and that decreased my premium a lot. It would take a while to get that level of discount with a new company).
I mean, I understand that the insurance sector is facing a lot of claims lately and I MIGHT have been willing to just swallow that explanation and the premium increase if they'd been decent enough to include a letter to that effect with the policy renewal documents. Instead they made me wait on hold over an hour and talk to someone who had no idea how to answer me.
Anyway....

I had the hd560s and 770s a while back and returned them because I didn't like them but I was looking to get back into headphones to see if I could experience something maybe I missed out on.
My biggest question is how noticeable is the upgrade? Say if I went for the hd8xx or LCD-2C?
In my opinion, just for reference, some of the large upgrades that were very worth it to me were: 1. transitioning from 60 hz to 144 hz monitors 2. going from an LED tv to seeing OLED for the first time

I’m a south Asian women in her early twenties if it matters.
I absolutely refuses to be with a south Asian man. The culture breeds misogyny and violence towards women. I have a lot of trauma with my male family members due to this
I can say with 100% honesty there is only 1 south Asian man I’ve met who I didn’t instantly hate on sight. One of my coworkers who had just immigrated to my country. He’s always very kind and polite, but because of this stupid impulse in my brain, I keep him at more than an arms length always.
Does that mean all south Asian men are terrible? Of course not, reality is a majority of them are probably wonderful partners.
Will I date one? No. And I understand that’s probably due to internalized racism.
I do feel bad about this btw. South Asian men are constantly demeaned in the west, having to prove themselves more than the stupid/racist ‘bobs and vagene’ meme.
I’m in therapy for it, and I do feel awful for pushing that stereotype on the men of my own culture, but I’ve seen how all the women in my life (myself included) have been victimized at the hands of south Asian men and the culture surrounding them.

Since November I chose that I'll opt for pcm but then after boards I asked my parents for sending me to a different city coz we don't have good coachings here but they denied and now they're denying for dummy too , my friend said take commerce it'll be easy for you coz of your situation. I've got family issues too. My schedule would be like this if I opt for pcm , 6:15-1:45 school then I'll eat and all so 3 pm supposing coaching would be from 4pm so I'll leave my house at 3:15 , I'll be back home at 8 pm so then again I'll rest coz ofc I'll be tired then the hws dpps ect I'll do, I'll have no time for myself or self study. Do y'all think I should opt for commerce? I just wanna get into IT sector. please help

Details: I’m 37M, married (sole income), 1 child (1 year old), MCOL area, ~$4.5M NW -> $1M in index funds, $500K cash, $500k angel, $2.5M pre-IPO stock from a prior company. Inexpensive home (~$800k, $600K left on mortgage, 2.5%). Annual income is ~$900K per year (all cash). Annual expenses are just less than $100K (includes mortgage). Engineering exec at financial services company (have worked at tech startups & FAANG prior). My FatFIRE goal is $10M.
TL;DR: I want to hit FatFIRE goal ASAP. Should I stay at my job for the next several years, join a startup/growth stage company, or start a company?
Context: I haven't hit my FatFIRE goal yet, and I'm feeling disappointed about it. I want to get there asap / in my 40s, but I'm a little confused on what to do next.
Right now, I'm an engineering exec, and I've been doing this kind of work for awhile. My current job is relatively easy, I don't work that hard, I have lots of autonomy, and I like my team well enough. But I feel intellectually stymied & I'm not growing. Also there's no incentive structure in place for unbounded comp growth (all cash, no stock). If I stay at my current job, I can probably get to $1.1M/yr or so in the next 2 years. One could consequently say I'm in the "CoastFIRE" phase.
I see 3 plausible options for myself on what's next. And ideally said option gets me on track to reach FatFIRE asap.
Option 1 - Stay at my job indefinitely and just tough it out. Like I said, it's not hard. But I'm finding the lack of growth frustrating. And I fear that the longer I keep doing this, the harder it gets to do other things. That said, I have many hours in the day to myself. I could spend more time working on side projects to supplement or replace my income, incubate startup ideas, or whatever else.
Option 2 - Find a new job, likely at a startup (Series A/B+). I could probably come down to $325K - $375K in cash, but get real upside (75bps - 125bps). I've helped build and sell a company before as a C-level exec (multi-hundred $MM outcome, but for various reasons wasn't as lucrative for me as it should have been). I'd probably be more engaged intellectually by a new challenge. But I struggle with the risk/reward tradeoff. Which leads me to option 3...
Option 3 - Start a new company, but in close partnership with a venture fund in an EIR-like role. I am talking to a few funds about this kind of gig now. WAY higher upside obviously. And somewhat risk mitigated by using fund resources to vet ideas, recruit, sell into portfolio. My founder cash comp would come down to $200K likely for a seed round. But even a mediocre outcome (< $250M) could help me blow past my FatFIRE goal. And I hope to optimize for cash flow/profitability from day 1 (more VC funds want this kind of focus now vs 6-12 months ago) + keep fundraising to a minimum. This path would fit my risk profile better than starting a company fully from scratch.
FatFIRE community, what do you think about my situation? What would you do in my shoes to reach my $10M FatFIRE goal in my 40s?

My neighbor’s guest has been parking his truck in the street for about a week now. This neighbor has a two-car garage that they do not use, and their driveway has space for four compact cars. There is also ample parking on the street directly in front of their property (enough for two trucks). However, her guest with an oversized truck insists on parking directly across the street from my driveway.
I left a note on the truck’s window that said “please stop parking behind my driveway.” He came home from work, read the note, left the truck there (even though there was ample space in the driveway for it). I then texted my neighbor (who I haven’t spoken to in years) and asked her to have her guest please move his truck, as it is impeding us from safely coming and going from our driveway.
In the past, any one who has parked there has obliged & moved their vehicle without issue. This neighbor, however, decided to randomly call the cops on me for “escalating” the situation. I was in literal shock that this woman didn’t have the decency to answer my text or try to have a conversation. The cop read the messages I sent (agreed this was not a threat or anything that warranted anything beyond our conversation) & said he encouraged them to move the truck as well. They did not listen to him either.
I have notified our HOA, and they are sending a letter. While parking on the street is not illegal, our HOA guidelines say vehicles must be parked in the driveway or garage. If she doesn’t comply with the HOA (which I’m expecting), I’m considering my next steps.
Option 1 - do nothing but live in fear that we may hit this vehicle while backing out.
Option 2 - park one of my vehicles in the spot so they cannot.
Option 3 - file a nuisance lawsuit. This would not cost me much money (several attorney friends and family), but it would cost her a pretty penny. Even if I lost, it would teach her a lesson.
What should I do?!
